Lucas conversation in the big 2025? I want to preface this by saying I became an NCTzens after he left the band so any errors please let me know politely. When it comes to his situation people either hate him or stan him and there’s barely anyone standing in that middle ground. I’m not here to discuss the validity of the evidence to say he was innocent either- he was gone before I became a fan so I didn’t have any attachment to him at all. Instead of removing him from their company they just held him hostage for two years? Gave him a pity documentary to make people feel bad for him? Never once did they clear up whether or not he guilty with an official statement and evidence- this coming from NCTzens instead. He released a hand written apology when it first occurred, so why go back on it now? Why not address it all at the time it was in its peak? I think that if something had been sorted out then there wouldn’t have been a need for this docu. This documentary was also released before his solo debut (because SM thought that was a good idea) and was most likely supposed to change the public perception of him from being nasty to being someone worth listening to. But if you look at his contribution to their company before this, he ’rapped‘ in WayV, messed up a dance break in NCT2020, and every time he did anything in SuperM he was ridiculed for not being as talented as the others. He previously had never proved to have an exceptional level of talent in.. anything? (it could be argued that SM’s lack of care for their foreign idols is enough of a reason to why they never pushed him) He was just easy on the eyes for some people. I wonder if this links back to the fact SM notably does not get rid of their groups. Apart from their earliest bands they haven’t ever disbanded. SuJu still going, SHINee and Girls Generation too. Aside from all those court cases TVXQ and EXO are still (technically) not disbanded. A more recent one would be the redebut of Seunghan as Xnghan soon to come. And after all that happened they gave him a solo debut with three songs? I don’t know if I pity him or not. The music was -eh. Not good, not terrible. But also not something I added to my playlist. The music video was interesting I suppose. It is also important to note the song they gave him reads as a diss track to the media and the haters. But if you never claim to be innocent of course people are going to not like you? And since that solo debut he‘s been MIA. I don’t know how well it charted if at all, and I also don’t know about streams or views because I frankly don’t care, but his case just interests me. I guess this is just another case of SM entertainment confusing me with their ways. submitted by /u/Extra-Tumbleweed7062 [link] [comments]
they didn't think it was a problem when blackpink was slutshamed, or when new jeans were getting death threats and prayers about them being homeless, but as soon as the bts snark gets traction its an issue? interesting.. submitted by /u/ProfessionalOk7281 [link] [comments]
I think it is absolutely crazy what Day6 has achieved in general and with this song. Even with no properly promoted comebacks this year, they are The KPOP group with the most digital points on Circle Chart this year, more than aespa/IVE for instance who had comebacks The most streamed artist in Youtube Korea, more than GDragon who had comebacks Sold out concerts for multiple days And right now on the Melon charts despite having huge comebacks this year from GD, aespa, IVE, Jennie and many more Time of Our Life which was released exactly 6 years ago is still charting at #28. Can you imagine that's the equivalent of a 2024 song still charting in the Top 30s in 2031 Happy, a 2024 B-side is still charting at #22. Yes that is higher than songs like Rebel Heart or Supernova which we all know was huge last year and Happy is released earlier Welcome To The Show is still charting at#36 You Were Beautiful, a 2017 song is still charting at #35, crazy that a song is still in the Top 40s after 8 years Like Day6's longevity on the charts is honestly so crazy that even without any properly promoted comebacks their songs just wouldn't die. The only other song that has such powerful charting longevity is BTS Spring Day. Imagine how big Day6 next comeback will be and we can probably see a resurgence of these songs again submitted by /u/InterestingSwim6701 [link] [comments]

Hey! I recently made a daily Kpop game: kguesser.com I'm super happy by the fact that more and more people are playing it every day! I also just added a new hint type: "Year". It displays the MV's release year to help you guess. I'm now gathering feedback to improve KGuesser! For now, the few ideas I got from friends and players are: - adding an "Idol of the day" game (you need to guess an idol based on the nationality, age, debut year, ...) - a third hint type that displays the group name (but I think it makes the game too easy no?) - display the current success rate for today's MV (I guess it adds a bit of "competition", could be fun) If you have any idea or feedback, I'll take it! Would love to make the game even more fun 😁 submitted by /u/TheNafu [link] [comments]
When I saw the announcement of Black Label's new group, I was intrigued. I'm very curious about mixed groups. I know a lot of people say they're not that popular in Korea, but I also don't see them being that popular in the West. The last group I remember making a splash was Now United, a group that had one member in each country, but their success was more limited in some countries. Tarzzan really turned me off from ADP. I think it's ridiculous how he seems to be trying so hard to stand out from the other idols by appropriating black culture and trying to appear spontaneous, when he's not. But in other areas, I think the group deserves credit. I found it impressive that they're all credited for composing the debut songs, and Bailey choreographed both of them. I think they're truly very talented and it has a lot of potential, I just don't know if it's for me I just hope this opens the door for more mixed groups or groups with more freedom of composition in their debut. submitted by /u/Character_Blood_1609 [link] [comments]
Exactly a year ago, Kep1er wrapped up their 3-day “Kep1going” concert in Yokohama in Japan, marking the official end of their activities as a 9-member group. It was such an emotional moment for all kep1ians and is still bittersweet considering the trajectory of madein’s career (keep on boycotting pls)… submitted by /u/thegoldreader [link] [comments]
Okay, I just have to share this because my heart is absolutely bursting and, I'm still smiling like an idiot. I had a lot of stuff going on and, I felt so bad that I couldn't wear anything purple to the BTS MOTS concert screening! 😭 But that pookie of a man totally covered for me. 🫠 He was wearing a purple shirt, and, I didn't even ask him to 🥹 He spent so much time researching BTS for me, trying to remember all their faces and names. He even learned "saranghae" and "borahae" and other korean expressions and was showing me Korean finger hearts throughout. He didn't quite know how to align his thumb and index for the heart ( istg he looked so cute as he tried), 😭 but it was the cutest thing ever. And he saw me fangirling with the other ARMYs and us going wild with fanchants 😆😆 the fanchant was such a new experience for him. He got scared when we did the first fanchant. (He's been to other concerts, but according to him ARMY energy is just unmatched!) And guess who his bias is now? Jeon Jungkook!! 😆 I'm a multi stan, but I started as an ARMY in 2017. My bf isn't even a kpop fan or even a casual listener. He's not even into anime (and I was a huge otaku in my teens!). We have totally different interests and hobbies, but it felt amazing to have someone put this much effort into something for me. Most people I know irl have a really negative take on kpop and kdramas 😔 I feel super happy rn and just wanted to share the experience 💜 submitted by /u/CharacterWork5131 [link] [comments]

In the third generation, there were a lot of 'couples' that k-pop fans talked about, like BlackBangtan, NctPink, TwiceBangtan, and a bunch of other duos. I know there were a lot of manipulations made back then. I'm curious, which 'couples' (not talking about ship here, just a fun) do you think are hot, cute, or visually interesting in the 4th gen? Specifically, i mean pairings between boys + girls! I know many people consider Karina from aespa and Hyunjin from Stray Kids to be a hot duo. And it seems like Rei from IVE and Ni-ki from ENHYPEN are also a pretty popular and cool 'couple'. submitted by /u/Wonderful-Ad7877 [link] [comments]

around 2018-19 i stanned bts and txt to the point ive had all their posters/would beg my parents for their lightsticks, etc. another group (idk if i should say, in order to avoid fanwars, ill call them "jyp's boy group/jbg" who've actually befriended both bts and txt iirc/irl, they used to be unpopular 2018-19, but theyve become one of the most popular groups now ever since a hit song in 2020) ive known them since 2018 but hadnt wanted to/even considered/promised not to stan them bc i thought they were competing w bts and txt but i ended up liking "jyps boy group" even more than what i could prepare for (it hit me like a ton of bricks) from ~july 2020-present (still continuously, i even bought posters/lightstick of jbg, and went to their concert a while back) sometimes i feel like jbg are the missing piece of what i really wanted/i had no idea that they were the group i wanted to stan until discovering them) i keep having dreams that bts and txt got so jealous of JBG for "stealing their fan off them" that they do things like ridicule them, force me to ridicule/unstan/tell them i never loved them, etc. and that they tell me the only reason i like jbg is bc i can have "idols from australia that u feel represented by" (ofc ik bts and txt will NEVER do that irl/ bc theyre friend) my brother has even said to me irl the only reason i came to liking jbg is cus they have australian idols which is not true and i also had another dream in particular that slightly relates to toy story (for context https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EJJXYPhVOFM ) but i was "daisy" in this scene, bt21 and ppulbatu were the "plushes", and jbg's mascots were the "replacement plushes" but even when i dream that, i havent lost my admiration for jbg, and i still respect bts and txt (im js not a fan anymore, which i hope is ok cs i feel like a snake for leaving them for jbg, and i adore their friendship w jbg) i dont stan them anymore, but i give them admiral respect for all they have done to get themselves to this level of popularity, but i js feel absolutely terrible for letting myself get to this stage where i stopped liking both for a group i wasnt even thinking of stanning so is there a guilt of some kind that i should be feeling? or is this js old guilt that i shouldnt keep projecting onto myself? submitted by /u/Minute_Ice_7434 [link] [comments]

I got inspired by an ongoing game in r/TomorrowXTogether. Since I am a K-pop multistan myself and 2024 was an amazing year for music, I got a bright idea. This game is simple: - Comment a K-pop title track released in 2024 that matches the following criteria mentioned in the title. - The title track with the most upvotes gets to be labeled in the designated square. submitted by /u/Redditpernya [link] [comments]
