I feel so bad for him, boys planet II was his 5th survival show and he was eliminated one again. At first when I heard that he joined I thought he was gonna make it (I thought the same thing the other 3 times but still), but not this time I guess. It's also his 7th year as a trainee and even though he had a chance to debut, he wants to do it trough a survival show, which I find to be so interesting? Idk the word but that is unusual that people usually hate to go trough this, but he goes out of his way to be in one. Here is a part of his message, that I find particulary inspiring: "[...] I want to show that someone like me - who isn't especially talented, who gets criticised no matter what, who needs an hour to do, what others finished in 5 minutes, can still achive their dream. [...]" I hope he will get his chance and I'll support him in the future. submitted by /u/sacragho [link] [comments]
Basically pulling an aged old trend from the bird app where one will say "Just felt a slight breeze" while tweeting out a clip of a song. Usually a winter song almost in line with the Christmas season songs. So that's my question to you all ladies, gents and non binary friends ~ what song would you play IMMEDIATELY once the season gets colder and you feel that slight breeze in the air Personally, I have two: EXO's First Snow - it's quintessential. It's sad tunes wrapped in an almost bubblegum kpop feel and it is beyond perfect for the cold weather. There's a reason it ALWAYS climbs up the charts when December rolls in Stray Kids' Winter Falls - imagine this. It's in the early hours of dawn and you find yourself sleepless. It's cold and you feel this unshakable sense of gloom. You don't feel particularly sad and yet the cold winds weigh on you and you start reminiscing memories of the past. Winter Falls feels like that to me. It invokes a sense of nostalgia every time those guitar chords swoop in. It's like smelling a fragrance and being taken back to a memory of when you wore that scent. I love it. So those are my picks and feel free to join in on my shenanigans ~ submitted by /u/Lofijunkieee [link] [comments]

It all started in December 2024 when APT song was trending everywhere, especially on TikTok. I liked the song and was vibing to it. At first, it didn’t cause any issue, but since then TT kept showing me BP content, and I ended up binging on them. By late February 2025, I felt like I might actually be starting to like BP and in early March I felt positive that I'm into BP and somehow I didn't feel comfortable with it bc they were too popular for me to stan. (I typically stan something that no one else in town knows about, plus it's weird for me to like a Kpop group bc I'm not that guy - I used to think if you like Kpop then you have a bad taste in music) At this phase everything hit different, I started to feel uncomfortable whenever I saw anything BP related including APT song. At one point, I was at the computer with my colleague and we accidentally bump on a video about APT on Youtube, my heart started pounding and I didn't feel good so I went to the restroom to calm down, I begged 'Please get rid of this feeling I had for BP' and I really meant it. Around that time I decided to uninstall TT. Moving forwards to mid March, I went to a minimarket and saw NewJeans on a Pepero box, never heard of them before, and after going there a couple of times, things crossed my mind 'what if I check out another girl group, maybe it can distract me for BP' so I decided to start finding out about NJ, I watched lot of clips of them on X. Whenever I think about BP I quickly watch NJ videos. Anyway, since that, a lot of NJ stuff flooding my feed, and I learned they were involved in a lawsuit that I didn't really understand at that point, I was like what is Hybe? what is Ador? who is Hanni? I was so desperate to escape BP so I ate all the articles and news about NJ to distract me from BP. During that phase, a couple of times I felt like 'Nah NJ isn't for me' but I kept watching them anyway bc my knowledge about other gg was very limited. Before 2025 a Kpop gg I knew were only SNSD, BP and FiftyFifty, I remember when I was a freshman, my friend told me he likes SNSD, at that time Mr. Simple was popular, I think it was around 2011, so that was the very first time I came across Kpop. Back to topic, In early April I think I started to like NJ for real (I kept it secret ofc, I had few friends who were into kpop, if they knew I like a Kpop group I'll be embarrassed for life) and I binged watching their clips on insta and YT shorts, clips I watched were a diary-like videos. All of the sudden their lawsuit news started to make me uncomfortable, but I ignored it, so I kept eating their updates on X and a megathread, I really went down the NJ rabbit hole and Kpop in general, big mistake!. I kept binging on NJ clips all the way to May, my feeling for BP slowly fade away, I swear everything had been shifted to NJ but it's far from better. I started to feel infuriated by the drama around them, like I had my own problems and I don't need to get caught up in other people’s mess, plus the football team I support has been in the downfall era for years so I've had enough of problems. By mid-May, my feelings for NJ growing stronger but at the same time I didn’t want to get invested, I felt that was the sign I needed to stop, and I realized I was just playing with fire. I took a break from reddit and quit X for good, I decided to stay away from anything NJ related, when I went to the minimarket I tried my best not to stare at the Pepero boxes. Now, I hadn’t watched any of NJ’s clips for months. During that time I re-installed TT, since my feelings for BP had gone away I can enjoy APT again, it distracted me a bit from NJ but a few NJ related videos somehow sneaked into my fyp, I scrolled quick, I almost got heart attack whenever vt about NJ popped up. As for their music, I haven't heard much, only Ditto and a bit of Super Shy, tbh Kpop is still not my cup of tea. I listened to Ditto on repeat and I still couldn't understand why people think it's a good song, to me most Kpop songs sound similar, if you play Ditto and then you play any IVE song, and tell people that the two songs were form the same group, they'd believe you. I don't think there are any idols who have a recognizable voice. Apart from APT (if it's count as Kpop) Kpop songs which I think had quality were Cupid and Love Shot. I wasn't actually a fan of today's music in general either, there were only few songs in the last 10 years that made it into my playlist, I think Coldplay haven't made a great song since Viva La Vida. Deep inside there's still part of me who wants to explore NJ mvs and engage in Kpop community, but I know if I'm doing that there's no return for me. I wonder if Kpop industry put a spell on you, I mean, they knew human psychology well, they knew how to get you hooked and to make you like them. My knowledge about Kpop group is going to the moon this year, I somehow ended up knowing the likes of NCT, Enhypen, IVE, Kiikii, Triple S, Kepler, Meovvy, Illit, Seventeen, Kiss of Life, Gfriend, Gdragon etc, somehow a little part of me felt embarrassed for knowing all those, other part of me feels like you can’t be a fan of a Kpop group and think you’re the coolest person on earth, BUT I'm more open to Kpop songs now, if there's a banger I'll take it as a guilty pleasure. 2025 has been the year of something else, I wish I could go back to January when my life was still normal. submitted by /u/Gullible-Distance594 [link] [comments]
i think many of us have groups where we mostly listen to their title tracks rather than explore their full albums but im curious about the opposite. do you have a groups where you’re not a fan of their tts/like very few but love the b-sides? for me when i encounter a new/old group i usually just check out the tts and if i didn’t like them i only rarely check out their bsides as well (trying to change that tho) submitted by /u/Own_Measurement2767 [link] [comments]
I’m basing this on a thread I saw recently where someone was essentially repeating the same stuff about getting frustrated when people dare refer to Katseye as a K-pop group, because supposedly, the two are not related at all. I am aware I'm practically begging to get downvoted with this post, but hear me out lol. Yes, they do not sing in Korean, so I agree that it wouldn’t make sense to simply call them a K-pop group. However, that alone cannot possibly negate that the group was literally designed within the K-pop system to such an extent that some of you absolutely deny any relation to K-pop entirely. They got K-pop training within HYBE, had a Korean-style survival show, had their debut collab with a K-pop artist, appeared at KCON, the majority of their fanbase is from the K-pop community*, and have appeared on quite a few Korean TV variety shows. Not to mention that their music style is definitely in tune with the current K-pop music trends, especially Gnarly (although we all know K-pop is heavily based on a range of international styles, so that's a whole other conversation). Now, before anyone lists all the Western artists who have also done these things, in relative terms to the short period of time that they have been active, this amount of Kpop-related activities is pretty considerable. To me, they operate in the style of a K-pop group, so it's not insane to call them an international group that is K-pop adjacent. I really don’t get what's so perplexing and offensive about this to some fans; it's not like anyone is trying to reduce the group's identity into one of the many or something. If anything, it makes them extremely unique, and I am curious to see how they evolve and what impact their style can have on the global pop industry if they grow even more. --- \Obviously, I'm not gonna try and prove this statistically, but imma take an educated guess in stating this.* submitted by /u/Odd_Bison4256 [link] [comments]
[Disclaimer: the groups I'm about to list are purely for my opinions only. Please don't give any hate to them or to me, because we're all human at the end of the day...] 1) Current Underrated K-Pop Artists that I want to have for the upcoming potential season, because I was kind of glad that "Season 1" didn't go for the Big 4 route, but I hope it's not too late: Boy groups = AMPERS&ONE(OT7), P1Harmony(OT6), ZB1(OT9), xikers(OT10), NOMAD(OT5), CRAVITY(OT9), EPEX(OT8), CIX, XLOV, 8TURN(OT8), &TEAM (OT9) (With NOMAD, I mostly stanned this group, because member Junho was one of my picks during "The Origin: A, B or What". But then again, all-adult groups should really get more popular around here...) + (With EPEX, I truly hope that Keum Donghyun recovers well and returns back to the group, 😭🥺😭) Girl groups = ICHILLIN' (OT7) + CSR(OT7) (With ICHILLIN, I really hope they get the "BILLLIE clout treatment" soon, since Jeong Jiyoon and Kim Suyeon both appeared in "Girls Planet 999". In fact, I think Megan Thee Stallion would mesh really well with them too, mostly because I like their song "Siren" so much...) + (With CSR, I know they've already got their 1st win, but I also want them to get popular again...) Co-Ed groups = ALLDAY PROJECT + KARD(they most definitely deserve it!!!) 2) Big 4 group candidates, like ITZY: Girl groups = Hearts2Hearts(OT8) Boy groups = Seventeen, TXT, ENHYPEN, STRAY KIDS(OT8), NCT DREAM(OT7) 3) Other Groups I wish I could add, but I don't have enough emotional strength to do so; (I don't intend to give any of them disrespect at all): Boy groups = SF9, BAE173, OMEGA X, "ALL(H)OURS", ONEPACT, DKZ, TNX, ONEUS, YOUNITE, TEMPEST, JUST B(OT6) Girl groups = EVERGLOW + tripleS + "Baby DONT Cry"(because although I like their song "F Girl", they're still pretty young...) 4) Honourable Mentions: Boy groups = DKB(OT9), OnlyOneOf(OT7), Golden Child(OT10), TBZ(0T11/OT12), PENTAGON(OT9), ONF, WHIB(OT8), X1, UP10TION, VICTION, DRIPPIN(OT7), VERIVERY(OT7), LUN8, ASTRO Girl groups = Weki Meki(OT8), Purple Kiss(OT7), MAMAMOO, Cherry Bullet, OH MY GIRL(OT7), Lovelyz(OT8) There were some other names that I had in mind for this show, but I'm kind of advocating for the underrated groups to get their time to shine; I know it's unrealistic, but a fighting dreamer can only try... What do you guys think of this question, please...? Leave your thoughts in the comments below, ⬇️⬇️⬇️. P.S: I'll also put my extra comments for the groups I've mentioned here, because I was originally going to put screenshots for my list, but the SubReddit doesn't allow that.. submitted by /u/Routine-Badger-425 [link] [comments]

I'm going to be honest, I don't understand the revisionist history when it comes to LSM. People have been very critical of the new generation of SM groups: Riize, Hearts2Hearts, NCT Wish. And the most common thing I see is: "man I wish LSM was back, SM isn't the same anymore". To which I say: huh? Where is this coming from? The day Next Level dropped, actually when aespa debuted, there were so many comments saying that the girls would flop and Lee Soo Man didn't know what he was doing. Now, all of sudden, LSM was great and everyone misses him? Why? There used to be so much "Oh LSM has lost the plot" comments back when he was still in the company. Now he's gone and everyone is saying that he should come back. It's very strange seeing that switch when so many were critical of him and wishing for the day he would leave. Remember when he wanted aespa to sing a songs about planting trees? But anyway, now some people are practically begging him to be there again. I am confused. submitted by /u/Moonbunny120 [link] [comments]
I have many thoughts lately about the kpop fandom and I don't really know how to summarise them all. I became a fan during 2nd gen ending and 3rd gen starting, and remember how great of an impact bands from 2nd gen had on kpop as a whole. Whole community changed and it feels forced lately. I think the main problem is that the popularity of kpop suddenly exploded. Back then, you became a fan based on random song you heard and you would slowly get into things beginning from previously released songs which would lead you to other bands etc. While now i feel people try to be up to date just so they can be up to date. It doesn't feel organic. While I do listen to and like newer generations, i feel like the respect for the 3rd (with the exception of a few bands) and 2nd generation is slowly disappearing despite many of them still being active. I am sorry, but you can not act as if Infinite are nobodys while praising dancing and choreo in kpop. You can't praise fierce women while ignoring 2ne1 existance. You can not act as if BtoB doesn't exist while listing best male vocalits. I remember the excitement while witnesing the growth of kpop and expansion of fandom. I just wish people would begin again to appreciate older generations and things they did. That is all, that is a rant of a fan for the last 13 years. submitted by /u/jinxflight [link] [comments]

it was a matter of time before aespas tt run starts to fade and eventually end, but it’s somewhat disappointing that this is what we got from them after the amazing year they had now i for one have never really liked aespas releases most of the time, but you can’t deny that in every song there’s a hook/killing part that you just can’t ignore, however in Rich Man i feel like it’s just underwhelming considering the concept for this comeback which is rock meaning everyone probably expected a hard hitting impactful song and with dirty work’s reception, people were definitely expecting to like the official title track (now i listened to the demo and wow… how did we go from the demo to wtv we got) i feel like the supposed killing part/hook of the song was “la la la im a rich man” and probably giselles intro too but a lot of ppl are now complaining for being too repetitive and annoying to listen and the choreo is kinda meh too overall i believe that the output is somewhat underwhelming with the concept and the trailer that we have seen submitted by /u/Free-Application860 [link] [comments]
