How do you keep up with the activities of a group/ fandom you follow, where and how? Furthermore how engaged are you overall do you know the basics like if they are having or just had a comeback or if they are on tour? Or do you hear hear all the activities and fandom drama? Then the other side is how do you learn about the activities of groups outside of those you deliberately follow do you follow general K-pop news or does it just weasel into your social media and you canβt help not knowing about it? submitted by /u/ARG_obesessed [link] [comments]

βββββββββββββββββ Hey everyone, today JYP rock band Xdinary Heroes returns with a new mini-album, their second project of the year. We saw the band earlier in the year with their fantastic album Beautiful Mind, which I had on repeat. Iβm excited to see what sound the band will be going with this new project they are bringing to the table. Iβve enjoyed the group's music since their debut, as they keep delivering excellent tunes that pull me back. Now letβs jump into this album and see what the band has brought to the table. βββββββββββββββββ https://preview.redd.it/no52oa45n3xf1.jpg?width=1536&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6def6be6f3c7fbd3b3d8622fda03e322c52f5b86 LXVE to DEATH - Xdinary Heroes 1. Lost and Found The opening song brings in synths that blend with the guitars and percussion that have a little bit of a poppy vibe to them. The instrumental sounds like itβs going in a more pop-rock direction that still works perfectly for the band. The hook has that catchy vibe that keeps the momentum the verses brought to the table. The vocals still hit as they work perfectly with the overall vibe. Iβm not upset that the opening to this project goes for a more poppy-rock vibe since the band fits that sound in a great way. The bridge is a smooth section before the chorus returns for one final blow. Lost and Found does a great job opening up the project, and something that Iβll be returning to. https://preview.redd.it/xczksq0hn3xf1.jpg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=78d63c653b522e6d987230cfe08fb36fbe6714c2 βββββββββ βββββββ ICU After the pop-rock opening, Lost and Found, the second song, ICU, brings in a more rockier sound with its slick bass guitar and smooth percussion. The vocals are excellent as they fit wonderfully with the harder rock sound that might be my favorite from them. The hook still packs in that catchy nature as it still keeps that harder rock sound. I love the goovy nature of the bass guitar, adding to the overall vibe. I also love the fast pace of the instrumental that works perfectly with the overall performance. Even the guitar solo hits hard, adding to the vibe and helping to pull me back for more. https://preview.redd.it/x1sicrvjn3xf1.jpg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dffa6850d7d415b81ead068a670bceeb96b9a24a βββββββββ βββββββ FiRE (My Sweet Misery) The third song on the album is a pre-release single, which we heard back in July, and is still one Iβm having on repeat. The band keeps that harder rock sound, but this time adds a little synth to the mix. Xdinary Heroes sings fully in English for this track, and Iβm not upset cause it works for them. The chorus sounds darker than the last two songs, and the vocals sound a bit grittier. The guitars come crashing into the mix, blending with the percussion momentum perfectly. I feel like the band could release an English album, and it would hit hard cause this tune still hits for me. The only thing I wouldβve liked is the instrumental to go even harder, but thatβs just something I was thinking. https://preview.redd.it/grx6bglmn3xf1.jpg?width=259&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1104dadeaa4e645f0bb74c08c3ff87d0ea60ceec βββββββββ βββββββ 4. Ashes to Ashes A guitar opens up the track, keeping that harder sound, but sounding like something out of a Sonic Video Game. The instrumental has a bit of a poppy vibe to it, but still keeps that harder sound. The hook smooths its way into the mix, adding that bit of catchy feeling to the tune. The vocals do an excellent job keeping up with the fast-paced vibe of the instrumental, which keeps things moving at a perfect pace. I still keep thinking that this song could fit in a Sonic Video game, reminding me of Crush 40, which has put out some fantastic songs. https://preview.redd.it/la1h3mjpn3xf1.png?width=1024&format=png&auto=webp&s=b458299d47abec0b61936aedf69c2d120c430aa2 βββββββββ βββββββ Spoiler!! Synths open up the track, bringing in a darker rock sound as the vocals bring a bit of sweetness to the mix. The instrumental hits as it keeps that dark rock vibe we heard in the opening. The hook pulls me right into the tune as the percussion and guitar with the chanting vocals, hit. I love the guitar breakdown after the hook, before the second verse comes into the mix felt like someone was about to scream. Iβve been loving the darker tone that band sometimes brings to the table as it shows a different side of them. We get a little scream before the hook comes into the mix, which adds to the overall vibe. The bridge comes crashing in with the synths and guitars that blend wonderfully together. https://preview.redd.it/gunroyuvn3xf1.jpg?width=900&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=30a824939ee2fd2423cca22773123a72ca3d070d βββββββββ βββββββ 6. Love Tug of War As we move into the sixth song on the album, the band makes me feel like Iβm listening to an Anime opening as this tune has a bit of a J-rock type sound. The guitars and percussion bring back a more poppier sound, which still works with the bandβs vocalists. The hook is the moment that made me feel like I was about to watch an Anime, which is something I never expected to feel from this band. The verses move the song perfectly, keeping a great momentum that helps to pull in the smooth chorus. The overall performance is excellent, helping to make this tune stick with me. https://preview.redd.it/ftlxlaoyn3xf1.jpg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=661a20e5a29a017ce18fdcc44a8c55f71b742caf βββββββββ βββββββ LOVE ME 2 DEATH The closing song on the album LOVE ME 2 DEATH keeps that Anime J-rock sound that I think works with them. The instrumental goes at a fast pace, helping to close out this project in an excellent way. The guitars and percussion blend wonderfully with the overall performance. The hook is a great chorus for this fast-paced tune. I love the moments when this tune gets a little dark, but it's still keeping that J-rock vibe. I might say this could be my favorite track on the album, as we get a dark bridge with a bit of a growl vocal that couldβve gone even harder, but Iβm still happy with what we got. https://preview.redd.it/hiiil4g1o3xf1.jpg?width=2400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1ad7e136910a504d37b27a94423938e26606a444 βββββββββββββββββ Summary: Xdinary Heroes is back with a new project, one that continues the run for impressing me with their music. Itβs hard to pick a favorite track from this album, as all of them are produced pretty well, and the vocals work well with the instrumental in a way that will keep pulling me back for more. Iβm glad the band is back with new music that I will be having on repeat for the rest of the year. βββββββββββββββββ https://preview.redd.it/dalgt8x1o3xf1.jpg?width=275&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4d6bf27a9300100a2348321e39bd01c3759faddb submitted by /u/Maltifandom23 [link] [comments]
I used to be a huge kpop Stan in 2018-2021, and I sort of fell out of the loop until around 2023. I'm now fully back into kpop and I've even gotten my boyfriend into it as well π our only question is how do we become more involved with the kpop scene? i have prior knowledge of terms and iconic moments and i know how to involve myself within fandom spaces, but he isn't sure where to start! any tips would be great <3 (yes I know fandom spaces can be toxic, but that's a whole other conversation.. he's just trying to get involved in normal convo) submitted by /u/charlietheclowwn [link] [comments]

will preface this by saying im from seasia and my English isn't the best, so some things may come off weird. ive also attended a few kpop concerts of different groups from different agencies. thus this won't be targeted to a specific group or agency...but will point out that this started with one concert i lurk on twt a lot and recently, after svt had a concert somewhere in the us and members accepted gifts from the crowd (one even accepted alcohol), a huge discussion about how us fans get treated so well vs other places broke out. a lot pointed out that members accepting gifts from fans will never fly in seasia...and the few times they did accept gifts, it was so rare unlike what happens in the us, wherein fans can even sing with idols sometimes. also brought up how from the pricing to the quality of concert and inclusions in a ticket, seasia always gets the short end of the stick. a lot brought up how only seasia has fan etiquette notices,, when other places in the west don't, for example similar examples include how its common and acceptable practice to wait for an idol outside their hotel rooms during fashion week, how it's expectedand all. same with seeing them off in the airport. but the moment someone does that in seasia (or general asia for this case), its jail time others also brought up how even for other groups, the treatment for seasia fans is clearly different. vip tickets in seasia don't have anything to them except you being closer, no send off or anything besides a lanyard or band. and yet in the country's currency, they paid the same amount, if not more. some also mentioned that in some countries, there's less fan interactions vs the west. granted, it could be the organizers' faults as to why some concerts aren't the best and why inclusions vary. same goes for ticket prices and how each currency/purchasing power for each territory can be influenced by other things like taxes and government issues now since there's a lot of nuances to those, i saw them brought up less, and more about the discussion of how seasia fans just... get so much less while giving the same, if not more, basically. a lot expressed they felt like they were viewed as lesser, even when they contributed the most to a group's success (streams, albums, merch, etc). they felt like a lot of groups tended to want western fame more, and that they were even being considered as bad or dangerous or unsafe people, calling out how some things the us/west considers as normal is seen as unsafe elsewhere i have never attended a concert in a different country before, so i have no point of reference. also never attended as vip either, so i can't speak on inclusions and all. but seeing the discussion around it did get me thinking and wondering if others feel the same or have noticed that seasian fans get treated differently vs the western fans? this whole thing has me really sad tbh bcs the differences are pretty glaring, but i also do know some things just are out of the idols or management control like, again, governments and taxes and all. especially bcs my countrys politics is pretty corrupt, i get it. but yeah, curious about what others think about this... observation? event? yeah especially curious to those who have attended concerts both in asia and out of it!! submitted by /u/ayykaashi [link] [comments]
According to this article, itβs been confirmed that The Show will come to an end after airing for 14 years since 2011. For those unfamiliar, The Show is one of Koreaβs six weekly music shows where artists, mainly idols, come to promote. What set it apart from the rest was its role as a platform for rookies and mid-to-small groups to promote and have a real shot at winning (since bigger groups rarely participated). Winning on other music shows is MUCH more difficult, as trophies typically go to groups with massive fandoms or chart topping songs. Thatβs why this news feels so disheartening to me. Many of the groups I used to follow earned their only wins on The Show. So knowing that smaller groups will lose the ONLY stage where they could shine and actually take home a trophy is genuinely sad to think about... submitted by /u/Carelessies [link] [comments]
Every time there's an update on kpop charts or weather it was domestic or global charts and conversation about kpop in general they always include kdh groups in it, No hate but they're a fictional group from an AMERICAN made movie and the songs also released under american Music label not to mention it's in English not Korean so I don't think they belong in the kpop category or conversation. And if you say there's a real singers behind those groups and songs so does frozen but people never included idina Menzel in female pop stars conversation or category. submitted by /u/Party-Confection417 [link] [comments]
