Anyone else hate pity fans with a passion?

I think it's nice to support idols who maybe don't get as much love as more popular members, but a majority of those fans become whiny pity fans who cry every comeback even when their fave gets "what they deserve". A big reason I hate pity stans is also because they give the most backhanded compliments i've ever seen fans give. "How can anyone call ___ ugly????", "I don't get why ___ is soooo unpopular!!!". It seems innocent, but it's just setting up their bias for unnecessary comments. And oh my god, don't get me started on the incessant dragging of popular members... Sometimes it's like those fans only exist to put the others down, so the support doesn't even feel genuine. Thoughts? submitted by /u/Gold_Meaning3688 [link] [comments]

1.909. K-pop Hunger Games Simulator, Reapings Day 1

I will use 2nd Quarter Quell rules (48 players, 2 boys 2 girls for each of the 12 districts). For each district I have a pool of female and male idols to choose from to ensure group variety. I more or less randomly assigned what I believed to be 12-ish popular girl and boy groups to the districts, merging small groups or adding a couple soloists to pad numbers out and make the chances of a specific member of a large group being chosen more fair. Here’s a link to the masterdoc with the rule specifications. I’m not requiring you to read this but it’s recommended. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1DB95TAjnpEU97Dous1kPkPtENfc4lJeffZOTknLXcg8/edit?usp=drivesdk I intend this to be just for fun, don’t take it too seriously, don’t send hate, it’s just a “what if”. (Oh, and to keep it interesting, try to vote for who you think will do well or at least create drama, play as if you, the fandom, are the district citizens.) Single comment with the most upvotes wins. Separate idols so it’s 1 mention per comment, making it easier to see where the votes are going. (You can comment multiple times to pick multiple idols.) Try not to repeat idols and keep discussion in the replies under their first mention. Full Cast: District 1 Girls: BLACKPINK, Red Velvet Boys: BTS District 2 Girls: ITZY, Lee Chaeyeon (former IZ*ONE), former IOI soloists: Jeon Somi & Chungha Boys: GOT7 District 3 Girls: Dreamcatcher Boys: ENHYPEN District 4 Girls: NMIXX Boys: TNX, P1Harmony District 5 Girls: LE SSERAFIM, former IZ*ONE soloists except Chaeryeong’s sister: Jo Yuri, Kwon Eunbi, Yena Boys: TXT, XLOV District 6 Girls: IVE Boys: MONSTA X District 7 Girls: BABYMONSTER Boys: TREASURE District 8 Girls: MAMAMOO, i-dle Boys: ATEEZ District 9 Girls: TWICE Boys: Stray Kids District 10 Girls: æspa, STAYC Boys: xikers District 11 Girls: Kep1er Boys: ZEROBASEONE District 12 Girls: LOONA Boys: SEVENTEEN For two small groups combined, I will enforce one member from each group. For small group + soloists, I will allow 2 group members or 2 soloists if you guys want it that way. I will not stop a resurfaced ex-member (ie Soojin, Wonho, Mashiro and Yeseo, etc) from being reaped if the fandom wants to bring them up and vote them in. Today’s the 1st day I’m running this challenge for, so you’ll be selecting 1 BLACKPINK member and 1 Red Velvet member for the District 1 Girls and 2 BTS members for the District 1 Boys. submitted by /u/541Y0K4G3J1R0 [link] [comments]

1.910. What is the best concert freebie you have recieved?

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

One of my fav parts of the kpop concert experience are the freebies! I have made stickers in the past but would really like to step up my freebie game for the upcoming concerts I am attending this fall! I see a lot of keychains, stickers, and bracelets but I’ve made those before and would like to look into creating something different. I am pretty crafty and am willing to purchase any materials - so that wouldn’t be an issue! I want to create something that’s easy to transport as I will be flying in to attend the concert, something that can be created in a large volume, and would be appreciated by attendees. What has been your favourite freebie that you’ve recieved at a concert? Feel free to share any photos 💓 submitted by /u/peachybuddy [link] [comments]

1.912. How do you deal with stanning a group from a horrible company?

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Context: I haven’t stanned a group in a long time. The last time I did was around 7 years(?) ago, I’ve been a casual listener of multiple groups ever since. I decided to watch Boys Planet Season 1 recently and I couldn’t help but get attached to the final line up. I usually watch survival shows after the group is formed (RUNext, Produce 48) because I hate the suspense of waiting week after week for each episode (learnt that from watching GP999 when it came out) but I’ve never gotten totally invested in the group after the show. I know that good companies are few and far in between, but the more I hear about WakeOne’s poor management and business decisions, it’s hard to not be reminded of it whenever I want to watch ZB1 content or listen to their music. It’s been easier for me to enjoy groups with toxic fandoms because it doesn’t relentlessly bleed into the group’s activities or the members’ wellbeings and I can just filter it out. But bad companies are a different beast all together. Just looking for some advice to shift my mindset :’) thank you! submitted by /u/koiyasumi [link] [comments]

1.915. There’s a lot of hypocrisy when it comes to “cancelling”

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I feel like some fans are very quick to call out other groups, but can easily make excuses for their own favs. My favorite line is “I know they did that, but I hold them accountable” which usually means they shamed them for a day or two, but continue to stan them anyway and don’t bring up the controversy again. I just don’t think it’s fair to drag fans for continuing to stan when they themselves do it. What’s worse is there are some idols/groups that do something wrong and never apologize, but their fans are quick to drag another group that at least acknowledged the wrong and issued an apology. I think it’s up to the fans to personally decide to accept the apology or not, but at least the group did the bare minimum. To me it’s all talk when you decide to continue to support a group that goes against your personal morals, but judge everyone else for doing the same. Either it’s all bad or none of it is. submitted by /u/Thicccysmallz [link] [comments]

1.916. People need to stop being negative about Day6's busy schedule

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I get people are worried about how busy they are, but Day6 is a bit different than your typical idols. They have a lot of say, if not all, when it comes to their schedule, tours, etc. They collaborated for this busy schedule. It's gotten to a point that some fans' comments about how busy their schedule is overshadows the efforts and planning the members have put in making the schedule work. Unfortunately, a lot of the positive and fun posts about upcoming tours and events are overshadowed by overly worried fans that cast a shadow of negative to the schedules the members have put much effort in choosing. Had to get this off my chest as I noticed a great increase in overly worried comments that tend to spiral into generalized negative for any new schedule announced for Day6. submitted by /u/throwmeawaynot920 [link] [comments]

1.920. All day project bailey sok's hair

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I really dont get koreans obesseion with small faces. Bailey sok hasnt even got a big face but the hair stylist always makes sure every style they try on her she has side hair covering her face. Which end up just covering her face when she's doing her part most of the time. When they debuted fans complained about the antennas the side hair part covering her face. They still do it and I really dont get it. She could also get to do so many pretty other hairstyles. The obsession of trying to make her face look smaller with these side hairs ive never seen it done to other idols who have bigger faces. I just want to see her face when she performs and not her hiding behind hair. There's an example below it looks like its 90% of time. https://preview.redd.it/728969pv1nhf1.png?width=101&format=png&auto=webp&s=93f01b3b8d43a146a854cfb0f1116923534dda24 submitted by /u/SlowDelay8831 [link] [comments]

1.922. 'Toxicity' of BTS and Aespa fans

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

So a rookie group has been capturing my interest lately, and their fans have been against the fans of BTS and Aespa during votings. Now I have heard of these two groups and their music, but I wouldn't really call myself a fan of them. I have, however, heard that the fandoms of these two groups are apparently usually listed among the 'toxic' or 'problematic' fandoms in the kpop scene. Now this is where I think it gets interesting, keep in mind their fans are against the fans of a rookie group. When they were against MYs, of course minus the usual trolls, the rivalry was quite healthy (imo at least). This opposition between fandoms was less about destroying or undermining the other fandom, but more about uplifting or encouraging their co fans to work even harder to win the votings, to win for their adored kpop group. But then again, maybe its only me that didn't see the 'toxicity' of MYs during this period? Well from my eyes at the very least, from this single exchange between fandoms plus a cute moment of Aespa laughing at the antics of the rookie group, MYs are not as 'toxic' as they're set out to be. On the other hand, we have the ARMYs. I can't in good faith refer to them as a 'single' ARMY, but rather the 'veteran' ARMYs and 'baby' ARMYs. Long story short, I can definitely see and understand where the 'toxic' claims of their fandom is from the 'baby' ARMYs. The 'veteran' ARMYs are some of the sweetest fans out there who, not only give their whole hearted support to their group from when they were rookies that turned a small company into the corporation that it is today, but also cheer and applaud rookie groups who not only have the talent and drive but also recognize BTS as a group they look up to. The 'baby' ARMYs, not sure at what percent they are of their whole fandom, are very...loud. Accusing the rookie group and their company (which is small and new, at that) of very foul things, even to the point of making me feel a bit sad for the unwarranted hate the rookies are receiving - again, over votings, people. I can very much understand if they're fighting against the fans themselves (oh remember how it was for BlackJacks and Sones back in the good old days haha!) but creating hateful rumours, damaging content, and baseless accusations against the rookies and their company? It, as in the ARMY fandom and their group, certainly leaves a sour taste in my mouth. TLDR: Based on my experience supporting a rookie group, Aespa fans doesn't seem as 'toxic' as the internet says they are, while a percentage of BTS fans are living up to their 'toxic' reputation. submitted by /u/Mobile-Shop-1914 [link] [comments]

1.923. Is Chaeryoung's makeup overboard?

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Unpopular opinion: Chaeryoung from Itzy's makeup is too much. Her aegyosal looks fake. It genuinely makes her look like she hasn't slept in days and it doesn't really go well with her eye shape in my opinion. Her eye makeup is doing the most but the rest is fine. I've seen some people say that it looks normal but it just doesn't feel right to me. I'm not trying to be rude, Chaeryeong is beautiful, but its her makeup style that puts me off. https://preview.redd.it/6k8pjp4vqmhf1.png?width=482&format=png&auto=webp&s=5f3d35dbcc34a44d2cb9331a1e9fc17848f6f8b5 submitted by /u/OptimalPea8751 [link] [comments]
