This is pretty random but I just noticed it after watching Cortisā new mv since I mainly only watch TXT mvs and they donāt use it. I actually just assumed they hadnāt used it anymore, but I also checked J-hopeās recent mvs and the intro was used as well. Anyways, please let me know if thereās an explanation since Iām curious, Thanks submitted by /u/kkaashii [link] [comments]

Not the Stray Kids one, the weird one from Loona. The more she talks the more I want someone to do a study on how detrimental their time under BBC was to their mental health. She had auditory and visual hallucinations and convinced herself she was seeing ghosts and her friend instead of telling her it's not normal used it to drag her to church and convert her to Christianity. And on the off-hand she was like "Big Bang theory is hilarious, who believes in that?" I'm seriously worried what insane thing she's going to say next because this is a lot already, she seems gullible and I'm afraid she's going to be indoctrinated into something much worse especially because of how many religious cults there are already in SK. For anyone interested full translation. submitted by /u/Lilac_Bloom_ [link] [comments]
So lately I've been seeing reels, shorts, and TikToks of influencers who have never talked about kpop all of a sudden show clips of them going to see Ateez, Stray kids, Black Pink, and eventually BTS since they are on tour. Now I'm not saying that people can't be new fans, but the wave of influencers who all of sudden hop on kpop when they were the same people making fun of those who enjoy kpop and treating us like weirdos. This same thing happened with anime fans and how those who were interested in it back then were bullied so much, but now that their Favorite celebrity is collaborating with kpop groups or showing their intest in anime all of a sudden it's fine. As long as a lot of influencers don't use this to make ticket prices even higher and act like they were super fans for clout then whatever. submitted by /u/MochaMilku [link] [comments]
I found many idols and actors that look very similar. Like Taeyong, Jae joong and Kim Myung Soo(L) could be the same personš. Also ( Eun bin CLC) and Kim hee Jung. Soobin (txt ) and Min-Hyuk (BTOB). Woo Do Hwan and Kang SEO jun. Anyone else has someone in mind that looks almost identical?? submitted by /u/AdventurousEar2397 [link] [comments]
July 2024 data. Bloomberg did a plot of songs released by the Big 4, since 1995, by percent of English lyrics. You'll see it here if you scroll down the middle. Iād guess it's gotten higher since, with more Katseye and solo BP releases. Kpop wasn't known for 100% English singles like Twice This Is For until recent years. Second slide shows the percent of foreign born members in Big 4 groups, reaching 47% in the most recent 4 years. The Bloomberg article talks about SM's investment in 'Western' Kpop, both the UK group that would become DearAlice and with building its internal pool of Western songwriters/producers. This article (Korea Herald) partly confirms my suspicion about diminishing returns on English lyrics, at least in Korea. I was thinking about this in the context of the KDH soundtrack bringing more meaning to the English lyrics, in contrast to something like Gnarly. I get the irony behind Alice Longyu Gaoās explanation, but thatās lost in the dissonance between her intent and its use mainly as a dance track in the final product. Self-evident, but worth noting: meaningful English is an important part of the formula that helped KDH songs blow up. Authenticity in the execution is part of that meaning. This isn't a knock on Katseye; Gnarly is working for them. It's a stylistic difference, emotional connection to sell the movie vs. dance entertainment. Kpop needs bring stimulating entertainment, thatās why the genre name sounds closest to ābopā š. But I think the unexpected vibes and breaking dogmas is what makes KDH work. Like āheartfeltā on Golden, the aggressive and percussive af How Itās Done, or having a leading GG/BG duet. submitted by /u/hyeran_jainros_fc [link] [comments]
sorry in advance for the rant i'm just fucking pissed so........ what do we do when our own faves keep doing something that doesn't align with our beliefs even after aaaaaaalllll the trends, hashtags and calling them out we've been doing ? why is it so difficult to say "okay, that's enough, what you're doing is wrong and you'll get the consequences of your actions" ? sometimes they just don't care, or act like they do in public and then when no one's watching they keep fucking up and doing what they've been called out for multiple times kiof have been cancelled (and RIGHTFULLY so) for racism, a few groups have also been cancelled for racism, being ambassadors for x y z brand or just consuming them etc.... but why isn't it the same with big groups ? bts, blackpink, stray kids... fan wars are so fucking DUMB when there are palestians literally being killed for being born on a land is-not-real think belongs to them but people are on social media talking about how we're mean for trying to cancel their faves, how it's to make another group seem better etc etc, but it's my OWN favorite groups i'm talking about so... why am i being thrown under the bus (i'm talking about skz/atz consuming starbucks and so on) submitted by /u/piercingjade [link] [comments]

Although I prefer idols with their natural hair color, there's just something oddly satisfying about them rocking a good blonde. There are many other idols I like in blonde but that list will become too long so I just mentioned my biases lol. Drop your favorite blonde idols. submitted by /u/minimumeffortmerc [link] [comments]
https://www.instagram.com/p/DMNXO0AtCeX/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link This comic serves as promo for Artist Yudori's manhwa Raging Clouds, and by the tone it takes I assume she got/predicted criticism over however she ended the book (I don't know yet. I really want to get my hands on it.). Given that the topic of "queerbait", cultural difference, and fan speculation/projection of lgbt topics(and its ethics when applied to real people) often comes up in kpop spaces + she briefly references the lens in which K-pop idols are viewed in terms of gender/sexuality "tells", I thought it might spark discussion to post her general perspective here. What do you think? Do you think her perspective is ultimately limited to her own experience or that there are nuances that she doesn't address? Do you think she has a good point that many westerners' "gaydar" as it were are calibrated off a set of norms that, from her perspective, don't necessarily apply to the culture where she grew up? Do you think the desire to see lgbt representation in the world can bulldoze the candid stories and lives of idols (or anyone) by prioritizing personal projection over respect? Was PrideShipping bait? submitted by /u/SomeRaceHorseName [link] [comments]
