581. I'm so tired of MIDZYs being so down on ITZY

  • 5 days ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

As if non-stans and the GP doomposting about them nonstop for the past three years wasn’t enough, I just saw a YT shorts with over six million views titled something like “ITZY’s Downfall,” which came out just a few weeks ago. The clip compares ITZY to their senior groups, TWICE, Stray Kids, and DAY6 highlighting how well they’re all doing while claiming ITZY hasn’t been relevant in years. At some point, you’d think I’d grown callous to all the negativity, but I guess not, especially considering how I feel writing this right now. I just want these girls to have a killer comeback in a few weeks. Something big with the GP, something that makes people stop doomposting about them for once, and that includes parts of the fandom, too. There’s been so much self-inflicted negativity among MIDZYs about how “bad” their songs have been, constantly begging Division 2 for better material. You’re only feeding the same narrative that others use to tear them down. I get the frustration, I didn’t love every TT either, but please, stop amplifying the idea that they’re failing. Yeah, they may not perform well on the charts as they used to, but they still sold over 400k albums with their recent EP and continue to have a loyal fanbase. Use that love for the group to be more supportive, instead of spiraling into negativity. It hurts to imagine how the girls must feel seeing all those negative posts and videos about themselves. Sometimes I wish the success they had during their debut year came later in their career. Maybe then, people wouldn’t treat their current journey as a “decline,” but rather as a natural part of growth. They’re still out there giving it their all, and they deserve to be supported, not pitied. submitted by /u/Carelessies [link] [comments]

583. The "Late Gen 3" Girl Groups Rate!

  • 5 days ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Hello everyone! We are excited to take another trip back in time to revisit some K-Pop classics once again, continuing with this rate, the "Late Gen 3" Girl Groups Rate! (If you haven't already, make sure to join r/kpoprates to ensure that you stay updated on future rate-related posts!) Quick Links: Ballot submission: Link to Reddit Chat to message a ballot // Ballot template (Google Doc) // Ballot template (Pastebin) Playlists: Spotify // Apple Music // YT MV // YT Lyrics // YT Audio Deadline: December 1st (Monday), 11:59 PM Pacific (Link to a timezone converter How the songs were selected: We used the r/kpop Top Ten Tuesdays results to grab the most adored songs from each of the artists on Reddit, and we also had a songlist feedback survey on r/kpoprates to help decide the songlist! Now, without further ado, let's introduce the 49 songs (& 7 bonus songs) that were selected for this rate, ordered chronologically for each artist (artists were also ordered by debut date): . CLC: Pepe No Oh Oh Hobgoblin Black Dress No Like It Me Devil The Ark: The Light Oh My Girl: Closer Liar Liar Windy Day Secret Garden Remember Me Twilight The Fifth Season (SSFWL) Nonstop Dolphin April: Oh My Mistake Lalalilala DIA: WooWoo WooWa WJSN: Secret Dreams Come True Save Me, Save You La La Love As You Wish Luckitty-cat Pantomime Unnatural I.O.I: Whatta Man (Good Man) Very Very Very Gugudan: A Girl Like Me The Boots Not That Type Momoland: Bboom Bboom Baam I'm So Hot Pristin: Wee Woo We Like [Get It[(https://youtu.be/4CTGxKIzD7M?si=LdgFS6cGgtXQJDdG) Elris/Alice: Pow Pow Dance On Weki Meki: Crush Picky Picky Tiki-Taka Dazzle Dazzle Oopsy Cool . Bonus Rate: The bonus rate is basically an extension of the main rate! There were several songs that received high praise during the songlist feedback survey that still were barely not able to make the main rate, so we have put them into the bonus rate here to give them a chance to be rated. . CLC - I Like It Oh My Girl - Dun Dun Dance April - April Story DIA - Will You Go Out With Me WJSN - I-Yah Gugudan - Chococo Weki Meki - Iron Boy . The Bonus Rate is optional and you do not have to submit a score for every song in the bonus list if you do it: you can score none of them, all of them, or any number in between. You cannot give a 0 or 11 to any song in the bonus, as they are not part of the main rate. While it is optional, we hope you consider participating. Spotify playlist Apple Music playlist YouTube playlist (MV version) YouTube playlist (Lyrics version) YouTube playlist (Audio version) Rules: You must listen to and assign a score to EVERY song listed. If your ballot is missing any scores it will not be eligible and you'll be sent a message asking you to fill in the missing scores. Each song should be assigned a score between 1 to 10. Decimals up to one point are allowed but any further is a no-no – 6.9 is fine, but 6.99 is not. You can use ONE 0 and ONE 11 for the entirety of the rate, for your least favorite and most favorite song respectively - they are optional but HIGHLY encouraged if you feel some type of way about any given song! Comments are also encouraged but not required for such scores (except if you give a song a 0). Comments are encouraged and much appreciated (but not required, except for if you give a 0) and can be added to any song by simply typing after the numerical score, like so: Like It: 8.4 I sure hope I've given this score to the right CLC Like It song This is the ONLY correct way to format a comment. Please do not include colons (ex. 9: I stan!), dashes (ex. 3.3 - This song sucks), or any other symbol after your score/before your comment as it breaks the program. You can also give comments for individual artists! Just write your comment after the :, such as the following: DIA: They really couldn't have found a better fandom name than AIDs? For this rate and most future rates, we have a ballot average minimum of 4.00. In addition, if your ballot average is between 4.00-5.50, you must leave comments on your lower scores (which we define as any score that's a 3 or lower). {Do not worry about having to calculate your ballot average, once you submit your ballot, we will tell you if you need to make changes to your ballot for it to be accepted.} SUBMITTING A BALLOT: * Link to Reddit Chat to message a ballot As Reddit is (unfortunately) moving away from the private messaging system in favor of utilizing the Reddit chat system, we are forced to also adopt the Reddit chat system for messaging. You can make a copy of either the Google Docs or Pastebin ballot templates below, add your scores on your local copy/file, and send the link to your local copy/file in your Reddit Chat message to u/kpoprates. Ballot template (Google Doc) Ballot template (Pastebin) Alternatively, if you have Discord, you can message the link to your ballot to all 3 of the rate hosts, u/aidshha, u/kirakiranatsu and u/zo142 You can also submit the top/bottom 5 prediction form at any time. 584. Can someone tell me what's happening with Le Sserafim in Korea

  • 5 days ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Their First two Ep performed so well and gave them their initiall momentum...Unforgiven and Easy were their pick era...then Crazy performed good internationally but did not do very well domestically ...Then Hot performed descently in Korea. ...but then again their recent single Spaghetti seems to not do very well domestically. Their Hanteo first day sale are not quite impressive. Also they are slipping from Melon charts.I am so sad for the girls. They faced one the the worst hate train in kpop history. I just wish the best for the girls. submitted by /u/Due_Collection_3363 [link] [comments]

585. YG Ent wants to grow, will they succeed?

  • 5 days ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

So YG is gonna start rapidly growing in the next few years. They have 4 groups upcoming! And that is huge for YG, even though they are one of the big 3 they don't have a lot of artists and have a reputation of underpromoting a group and overpromoting the other. They obviously struggled with multitasking in the past, but now they've dropped the acting division: what do we think? Will they succeed in PROPERLY managing several groups? They plan to grow around as big as JYPE in the next few years. submitted by /u/One_Conclusion2878 [link] [comments]

593. The hypocrisy to just accuse a company of a crime casually because their groups rank higher than yours is remarkable

  • 5 days ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Rn , in mama award voting thing , cortis rank higher / same place but it shows them higher (5th place) , and fans are mad that SKZ don't rank higher than cortis obv.......but wait if SKZ was higher , people would play it off like yea they deserve it but as soon as it is cortis , " NO HYBE PAID FOR IT!" oh I'm sorry wtf is wrong with you ??? Fans voted for cortis more . And rather than just accusing a company for cheating and buying places , focus on voting more maybe ... No it's just a suggestion. Another thing while I'm yapping , when hybe groups chart higher , it not because " hybe paid for it" it's because they are talented and hybe is good at marketing. Like be realistic. Now you might ask where the hypocrisy of it??? The hypocrisy is that the sincerity of voting and charting is always and only if you may questioned with hybe , no other companies , why?? If let's say a jype group ranks higher , nobody will say they bought the votes , but as soon as it is hybe , THEY PAID THEIR WAY !!!! S Y B A U 🥀 submitted by /u/yejioooo [link] [comments]

597. Smaller artists are loosing all their spaces

  • 5 days ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

The show along with ariang kpop earlier this year shutting down as well as a similar comment I wrote yesterday made me realize there's no music shows left for smaller artists. The show and ariang kpop were two of the few spaces accepting mainly smaller artists as well as the only music shows some artists got any wins at. They were the only music shows offering smaller artists a chance to shine and a real chance to win music show trophies. For context, that infamous tsuki from billlie fancam that went viral in 2022 and was on track to become one of the most viewed kpop fancams came from ariang kpop. If it was 2025 then that fancam might have never happened and billlie could have never gone viral. It's sad, cause smaller grps have less chances from the get go. Their promotional spaces and chances were already limited and with these two music shows shutting down it feels like they dropped to zero. Now,their only stable space is social media but with how competitive kpop has gotten,we all know that solely social media isn't enough. When it comes to larger music shows,it's almost impossible for smaller artists to get in,let alone get any wins, cause they have a "popularity limit",meaning you need to be popular to a certain amount to get on those. Just another example of things getting even harder instead of easier for smaller artists. The more years go by,the harder it is for smaller artists to make it. Kpop going global had me thinking things would get slightly easier but it seems like I was already proven wrong long ago submitted by /u/Alive-Pitch-9180 [link] [comments]
