28. 251011 Please Check Out and Support CongB's performances on his latest "survival" variety show - Anh Trai Say Hi 2025 (Say Hi with Bros 2025)

Hi everyone! For any international UniCong (CongB's fandom name) interested in his activities, please check out his performances on his latest Vietnamese "survival" variety show, Anh Trai Say Hi 2025. The show premise is that 30 individual artists come together and compete in groups (which will be different each Round). They are given demo songs and have to create a complete track based on them. All artists have their individual points (which will be based on the votes they receive from the audience on set, as well as any benefit points from either the game or if their Alliance Team won) Currently, the show is already on its 4th episode. Unfortunately, there are no subtitles for International Fans. But if you are interested in checking out his stages, please click on the link below! 1st stage: https://youtu.be/H1i1VJQCCuU?si=Yisu2annWINLaXKU 2nd stage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZNLngmjzyk [THIS IS MY FAVORITE STAGE OF HIS SO FAR. His vocal, dance skills, and stage presence are all 10/10!!! ] *For the 1st & 2nd stages, there are 2 alliances. Within each alliance, they are split into 3 different teams depending on which demo song they've chosen. (There is a lot more to it...but Imma keep it simple) In the 1st stage, the two alliances are competing - recreating the Theme song as mentioned above. CongB was placed in Alliance 2 and won. In the 2nd stage, his team was in the Top 2 based on the score/vote given by the audience present at the show. 3rd stage: His latest stage is a ballad song. https://youtu.be/U5ycRi9AoPw?si=9tAe3SHbHqeQ5qjZ *So, for the 3rd Stage, the concept is still two alliances. Within each alliance, there are two teams. And in each team, itself, will be split into two groups - Team A & Team B - each performing a different track. CongB is in Team A and is assigned as a deputy leader. Currently, his team is either in 3rd place or 4th in the Team A battles. The result will be announced in the next episode after Team B performs. This will also be the first elimination round. I know it's hard to watch or even listen to the songs without subtitles to fully immerse yourself. But if you are interested, please check it out and support CongB! Thank you! 29. Unpopular Opinion; Jennie and Lisa's music is mediocre. They are trying to be someone they arent, they arent groundbreaking.

Unpopular opinion! Talented girls by the way its just that they need to stay in their lane , seriously. Lets start with Lisa. Lisa’s trying to slide into the Western female rap/pop star archetype—the Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, Megan, Ice Spice, Latto lane—but there’s a huge cultural gap there: Those women grew up in the environments they rap about. The slang, the flows, the delivery—it’s all second nature because it’s part of who they are. Lisa, meanwhile, didn’t grow up in that culture. She’s from Thailand, came up through the K-pop system (a highly controlled industry), and now she’s trying to do high-energy rap with no clear cultural base grounding it. Its not her, shes cosplaying. there’s no real voice, no identity, and definitely no cultural texture behind it. But- Lets start from the beginning... History of Rap . Rap didn’t just pop up outta nowhere, it’s got deep roots. It came from Black communities in the Bronx, New York, back in the late 1970s, at block parties, DJs would spin funk & disco records, isolating the breakbeats. Then ,dudes started hopping on the mic started rhyming, hyping up the crowd . That evolved into MCing. Now, we all know 1970's was hell for my Latinos & my Black folks, especially Black People. Rapping became the voice for the voiceless , its built on struggles. A way to say, “Yo, this is my reality.” That’s why early rap was full of struggle, pain, resistance, survival, and pride. You got people like Grandmaster Flash, Run-D.M.C., Tupac, Nas, Biggie, Jay-Z, Eminem —all came from rough backgrounds, and that hunger shaped their storytelling. Now , for Lisa she never had that struggle, she grew up rich and privileged ,Still talented in her dancing, but she never had that hunger besides wanting to get famous. This girl said the n word multiple times, a true rapper could've easily replaced that word with a filler . All she raps about is money and her status its all she knows, she only knows growing up rich. She’s not really saying anything —there’s no narrative, no perspective, no cleverness. It’s just bars for the sake of bars. Jennie and Lisa’s solo music is starting to feel like a copy-paste template: "I'm that girl, I'm hot, I'm rich, I'm luxury, I'm pretty" Its getting old. Jennie’s “SOLO” Image Was Never Really Solo Now , for Jennie Kimmm. Her solo era was about her "Doing it on her own", Thats a lie, a slap in the dace to every American artist who had to produce, write, make a studio to get noticed by a label. That’s the irony that people overlook—Jennie’s “Solo” was built by a whole army of YG staff. She was pushed as the “It Girl” of Blackpink from day one. That’s not inherently bad, but it makes all the self-made flexing feel disingenuous. Jennie singing about being a self-made queen hits different when you know her launch was corporate, calculated, and handed to her on a silver platter. Her Korean verse in 'Like Jennie' "My DNA run in all these artists"…while benefiting from Black culture, hip-hop aesthetics, and even being caught saying the n-word as a trainee? Just tone deaf. It’s one thing to be confident—but that’s not confidence, that’s delusion with a side of erasure. Black artists are the literal DNA of modern pop, rap, hip-hop, and even the luxury-streetwear aesthetic she profits off. Jennie and other idol rappers borrowing from that culture, then claiming to be the blueprint? Nah, that’s revisionist history. The sad part is: both Lisa and Jennie could be doing something much more meaningful. They’re two of the most famous female K-pop artists globally. Instead, we get luxury bars, cookie-cutter flows, and a growing sense of disconnect between their image and their impact. No hate though. Beautiful woman. submitted by /u/Top_Cookie_3554 [link] [comments]

32. Idols who improved significantly in rapping over time?

  • 9 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I think most of us can easily recognize when an idol has improved vocally over time, but I don’t see as many people talk about idols who’ve improved in rap ability. Is there anyone that comes to mind, and what aspects within rapping have they improved upon? submitted by /u/Lilac-Soul [link] [comments]

33. My K-Pop and Progressive Rock/Metal Festival

  • reddit.com language

I’m pretty sure everyone is sick of these but I thought I’d try this out for myself and this is what I got - it seems quite the mix. Pink Floyd followed by Dreamcatcher; Aespa followed by Tool. The average Progressive Rock/Metal song is probably longer than the average K-Pop EP…or even a full-length album for that matter. I don’t actually use playlists so this is from my “Replay All Time” from Apple Music. submitted by /u/Same-World-209 [link] [comments]

Does anyone know if there is a signature flag for twice? Kinda like Chaewon’s America flag. Specifically for Dahyun. And like if there isn’t one for dubu are there others? And lastly if there isn’t one at all can someone just say there isn’t one🙏🙏🙏🙏 submitted by /u/YourAverageBiologist [link] [comments]

First kpopfap, now this?? Which is a bit of an inappropriate name for a sub seeing as they use part of a slur but it’s sorta their own kind so 🤷‍♀️ All I gotta say is why though. Why has sexualization or idols gone so far to where there’s fap subs. So disgusting. No way to take them down either. 😒 submitted by /u/JustAPerson-_- [link] [comments]

38. I can't stand kpop lack of critical sense

  • 11 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Seeing the comments about Aheyon sing ( her faz prasing and other stuff) like I'm tired of that. Her voice is pretty but she does too much, and her voice either gets too much or very hard to hear. But it's like people refuse to understand that? Like Yg does that so the group get famous, like letting Jennie being hated or Jisoo being left out on purpose etc...Aheyon is being pretty much use, and this can affect her voice ( look sakura from LS voice for a example). And it's like even the members support her voice being like that. Not even them seens to know that she can Hurt herself or how bad sounds, and they're SINGERS. This isn't the first time. Saying that to idols doesn't help, making them think that they don't needed to change or work to get better, that they're perfect and anyone who disagree it's the bad guy. Hate exist 100% but nobody it's perfect, everyone needs to work a little, but acting like idols were super mega amazing in vocal/rap/dance/stage presence and everyone is a hater it's so stupid. submitted by /u/Plastic_Profile2654 [link] [comments]

39. I'm just sad about kpop music and all the "backgrounds"

Hey guys! How are u doing? So, I was really hype about kpop music, but I started to watch some show videos of the groups and it seems so fake, like, it seems so forced the smiles, and also the "spicy" outfits out of nowhere. I listen to kpop now and I just think about the sadness of who sang the song. Thoughts about it? Sorry, English is not my first language submitted by /u/Separate-Caramel-995 [link] [comments]

42. What group/soloist's lyrics stand out for you?

  • 13 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Hi everyone! I thought it might be fun to discuss lyrics a bit today. I'm someone who loves words and storytelling, and the way words can be combined with and heightened by music is really interesting to me. One of the reasons I was most hesitant about getting into Kpop initially was because I knew I wouldn't be able to understand the lyrics as I listen. Lyrics can elevate a good song to a great one, or turn an okay song into a dumpster fire (let's be honest, sometimes there are upsides to not knowing Korean). Well I got sucked into the Kpop black hole anyway, and although the fact that I don't understand 80% of the lyrics doesn't bother me too much, I do wish I understood more. Obviously, I could (and sometimes do) look up English translations of songs, but I don't always have time for that. So I want to know, if you're a person who knows Korean or is an avid reader of lyric translations, what groups/soloists stand out to you lyrically? Are there any songs with lyrics that are exceptionally creative or poignant? Any songs that tell stories? Do you have favorite lyricists? What's a song that really touched you through its lyrics? Don't feel like you have to respond to all of these questions; I hope this can be an open-ended discussion about anything and everything to do with Kpop lyrics. submitted by /u/Kmadd25 [link] [comments]

43. How did everyone first get into kpop?

44. Why is everyone so mad when some of us wanna know who's gay?

  • 13 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Like I'm sorry to break your straight delulu fantasy of getting with your fave, but you never had a chance even if they were straight. And is it really so hard to understand the want to see representation of queer idols out there? Everybody's all laughing and chanting encore when male idols queerbait, but then want to pitch money for protest trucks when an idol is actually gay. Make it make sense. It's even more frustrating when everyone points fingers at the more fem-looking idols and already hate them from the getgo. But if idols could be and are more openly gay, there'd be less hate bc people can then stop stereotyping the fem-looking idols (gays are more than twinks and butch lebaneses, in case you didn't know) while everyone then has some representation to look forward to while also enjoying their delulu fantasies equally. So yeah, I know haters are gonna downvote this but yall better put your remindme on when Mingyu comes out after he retires from the industry and ends up marrying Cha Eunwoo. I said it here first 🤣 submitted by /u/RaveGuncle [link] [comments]

Honestly at this point I feel like I’m being messed with. A couple weeks ago I made a post because I thought there were a lot of similarities between Unstoppable and Spinnin On It, but today, Miyeon released the intro film for her solo comeback, and it is jam packed with the snail (and snail noise) from Spinnin On It. Someone seriously needs to set them up on some kind of friend date/collaboration/trip to a snail farm. submitted by /u/zoooeys [link] [comments]
