I've been sitting on this showerthought for a while and I need to get it off my chest. Sorry if it's unoriginal, starts fan wars over who owns the y2k concept, or if we're lowkey avoiding talking about either group right now I literally can't tell anymore See if you're born in 2005 you probably don't realize that the year 1999 was spent with everyone being like "is the future DIGITAL and also CHROME or are we all going to BE EATEN by the y2k BUG"? So basically Kwangya Bubblegum is so nostalgic to like one specific summer day in 1997 and also a simpler time before Newjeans collapsed 😭 (Historian side note: the y2k bug was very real, we just successfully fixed it across all industries for billions of dollars.) submitted by /u/abyssazaur [link] [comments]

People usually say the storngest person from their ult group, but no bias, serious talk who do you think is great? For me it's hands down Hwanwoong from Oneus submitted by /u/Roli_Tzoli [link] [comments]
Its a pet peeve and not that big of an issue, but i dont like fans using 'fair' and 'equal' line distribution interchangeably. They aren't the same! Equal means everyone has around the same amount of lines. Fair is when the main/lead vocalists have the most challenging parts and aren't just adlibbing to get their seconds up. I swear everyone calls equal line distributions fair and then the main vocal sings the same amount as a sub vocalist! And when the main vocalist has significantly more, suddenly its unfair - its not! Its just unequal and makes sense in the group context submitted by /u/New_Syllabub2838 [link] [comments]
Hey all you beautiful Wiki contributors! TL;DR: Editing our Wiki Pages from Old Reddit no longer updates the page on the latest version of Reddit and the Mobile App. I noticed a potential problem after I had updated the Upcoming Releases Wiki page yesterday for the This Week In KPOP post. Checked in with the rest of the Mod Team and they confirmed they were seeing the same issue. So I went hunting to see if other subreddits were experiencing this and I believe I have figured it out. If you weren't aware, as part of Reddit's general design overhaul during this past year they have been working on overhauling the Wiki Page tools in hopes of adding more functionality and making it more accessible to less-experienced Redditors. We saw this as a positive and signed up to participate in the testing process early on. But we have a giant and sprawling Wiki so we wouldn't be brought in until some months after the first testers. Admins informed us a few days ago that the new Wiki experience was launching for us. I poked around on it a little bit, but hadn't done much more yet. Yesterday, I updating streaming links in our Upcoming Releases page. I continue to be an Old Reddit user, so that's how I view/edit the Wikis. But I figured I should switch over to the latest version of Reddit to see how the new Wiki design looked. That's when I noticed the edits I just made had disappeared. Not only that, but the last edit that showed on the latest Reddit was about 4 days ago while Old Reddit showed multiple edits from other volunteers since then. Uh oh. Checked in with the team. They saw the same. Just now I found someone asking about the same problem about a month ago in r/ModSupport in the context of a subreddit that was in the earlier new Wiki testing phase. An Admin replied with the following: Hey, there! I asked around and there were some changes to the wiki system. New wiki entries need to be created on the new UI. Wiki entries created on old Reddit after this change went into effect will not transfer over. Apologies for the confusion and any frustration! So that appears to be what's happening. The Wiki pages can be edited on Old Reddit, but those edits will only display on Old Reddit. They won't show on the latest version of Reddit or on the Mobile App. This is super frustrating for a couple of reasons. One is that we recommended using Old to some of our volunteers over the last year as the Wiki pages were glitchy while Reddit was changing a lot and Old was more reliable. The other is that the new Wiki page tools don't appear to have any Markdown functionality. There is only the new Editor. For those of us that have been using Old Reddit and editing Wikis for ages, this is much less flexible to edit and is a whole new system to learn. I'm going to contact the Admin who started our test just to confirm this is all true, but it seemed important to announce this to our volunteers as soon as possible. We'll tag a bunch of our regulars down in comments to bring your attention here. Feel free to ask questions, commisserate, and figure things out together. I was going to try to update the June Upcoming Releases page using the most updated Old Reddit version and realized it might literally take me an hour or two to do this with the new Editor. Looks a bit nightmarish. And I can imagine this will be similarly frustrating to those of you who have been comfortably editing from Old Reddit for years. We'll try to keep you updated. For now, it's possible the best thing to do if you're about to edit a Wiki page is check the history on Old Reddit and compare to the latest Reddit design. If all the edits are on Old, keep using Old unless you're willing to use the new Editor to make a big update that matches Old. Otherwise, maybe hold off updating anything until we have a better plan. I’m trying to sell tickets I won’t be able to use for the skz concert in Atlanta. I’ve tried posting them on instagram, but nothing. I don’t have X but that might be a better way? Does anyone have any advice? It’s my first time selling tickets like this. submitted by /u/stellamovin [link] [comments]
For context, the girls have been hinting at something dropping tonight, and I'm so excited for it. They dropped the album teaser a few weeks ago, and they've been very quiet since. That was understandable because it was election season and their concept seems blue this time, but that wait only meant I'm so antsy now lol. It's been such a queit year for them relatively, so having them back has been such a relief to me. They promised us a lot of big things to come for their tenth year, and after all the prep and rest, they seem ready now. I really can't wait. Welcome back my girls. submitted by /u/BlueThePineapple [link] [comments]

SM's first boy group, H.O.T., debuted in 1996. H.O.T. is not the first K-pop group but they're the first to revolutionize idol culture in K-pop. The oldest was 18y and the youngest was 16y. 19 is considered the age of majority/the adult age in Korea, so all of them were minors. When S.E.S. debuted, all of them were considered minors internationally and in Korea. BoA, TVXQ, SNSD, SHINee, NCT DREAM, and H2H were all minors at debut. None of these people were 19y or older. I don't see a lot of people calling out SM for debuting a 14y girl recently but they did with JYP, HYBE, YG, and Starship. submitted by /u/flickerVixen [link] [comments]

Like how can you possibly feel an emotional connection to someone you've never personally interacted with irl? Yet so many people claim to feel a connection to some idols. There are brief moments here and there I feel like I could identify with an idol based on ways they've acted here and there especially if I've been on a "journey" with them since predebut watching them go through thick and thin to achieve their dreams. But once the reality of me having never met this person hits, I feel so weird for having immersed myself so much, no matter how much these idols/groups say they do everything for their fans and "the fans give us strength and made our journey possible" and this and that... I'm like, sure, I don't doubt that the industry is difficult and all but the overall life of an idol and the pay you get must be what you ultimately do it for as well right? submitted by /u/choerry_bomb [link] [comments]

I wasn't a fan of ILLIT until last month. Something about their dreamcore and cute aesthetic drew me in. I grew up watching Winx Club and Disney Princesses and have always loved all things girly, so their style resonated with me. Their little monster MV/brand film is one of the best MVs I've ever seen this year, the creative direction is phenomenal. I cherish how it blends the weird, eerie, and cute vibes in one MV. The message in the MV is heartwarming. The "little monsters" scare us but instead of being scared, they turn the fear into strength by eating the monsters (fears). The song is so comforting because it helps me relieve stress. I'm so proud of ILLIT and I hope they will always shine bright like the stars. submitted by /u/mirroway [link] [comments]
