1.487. What are yalls thoughts on Naevis’s new comeback?

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Okay someone needs to fes up, who asked for another Naevis comeback? But in my honest opinion it isn’t as bad as her debut song. The bridge that’s near the end is actually kinda good but the song overall is just….meh. Majority of the budget looks like it was spent on the video, which is very good looking but that’s it. I hate to say it but SM needs to just keep her within the Kwangya universe, shes good within Aespa but not on her own. I don’t hate Naevis or anything, it’s just like..can’t they put that money towards some of their other groups jeez. But then again this song might do a bit better than her last, hell if I know cause her debut came and went, no buzz, no traction. Straight silence. But anyways, did any of you actually enjoy the song??? submitted by /u/Ok_Mango_7 [link] [comments]

Hello! I’m going to twice at qudos bank arena (Sydney) on the first, I’m so excited! I just have a question, I’m going with my younger sister (who is 15) will she be allowed in with me? I’m 16. Will they ID check everyone? If it helps, I have floor tickets. So if you’ve gone to a kpop concert or twice concert here before, what was your experience? submitted by /u/Xqmyoon [link] [comments]

1.495. When an idol or a group does something morally wrong and you lose interest or distance yourself from the artist, it bothers me when people say you "were never a real fan in the first place".

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Not going to bring up specific situations, but you know what I mean, right? It hurts me even more when people kick you when you're already hurt and disappointed by the idol's wrongdoing. You truly, genuinely loved the members and their music. You were proud to call yourself their fan. And then one day, you become ashamed to be their fan. Look, I know "being a fan" is subjective, but me choosing to distance myself from a group after a scandal doesn't mean I was never a fan in the first place. Are we not allowed to call out idols, even ones whose music we love, when they do something morally wrong? Does being a fan involve blindly worshipping the ground these human beings walk on? Does being a fan involve defending your favourite idols no matter what they do? And I swear, I'm not being a hater. I'm just calling out wrongdoing and standing by my morals. submitted by /u/Ruler_J [link] [comments]

1.497. Kpop isn't taken serious and that's okay!

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

There has been some discourse around the VMA nominations and people saying that Lisa should've been in the pop category instead of kpop as Born again has no Korean lyrics. Some people even saying that America only respects certain Asian musicians and doesn't respect kpop due to racism. However American recording academies have historically not respected musicians that are not seen has true artist, it has nothing to due with race. As kpop fans whether we like it or not we have to admit that a large majority of kpop acts are not artists/musicians, have no input in their music, image, and most of the time are even assigned entire personalities by the companies. They don't care about the music. They should not be awarded at prestigious western events for simply being the face of the brand. Kpop is a business and most idols see it as a JOB, or a stepping stone into entertainment. Once again it's not about race, take milli vanilli for example, once people discovered that they were a manufactured product they had their Grammy taken away, even the spice girls weren't respected by the academy once people found out they were manufactured (in a very similar fashion modern kpop groups). Kpop being seen as kids bop/teen music isn't really that big of a deal most idols groups are gimmicks with their own brand/niche who are designed and put together by a company. The only idols who should be respected are the ones who actively have input in the music. submitted by /u/Obvious_Departure475 [link] [comments]

What do you think?? Even ones that would just look nice without context to non-kpop fans :) I think BTS Wings would look pretty good to both fans and non-fans alike! Pentagon’s Daisy (WE:TH album) (fun fact, i believe Kino designed it) Red Velvet’s Russian Roulette would be hella cute! submitted by /u/Lilac-Soul [link] [comments]

1.501. [SEVENTEEN] One Month Until Goodbye: Preparing for Hoshi and Woozi’s Enlistment 💎

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

To my fellow CARATs: How are you coping with this new chapter for Seventeen? And what are your ways of staying connected to the group while members serve? 💎 It feels so bittersweet to say this, but with Hoshi and Woozi enlisting in the military, reality is really setting in. As a CARAT for the past 7 years, I’ve watched them grow, evolve, and give their all to us—and now, they’re taking on a new kind of responsibility for their country. Hoshi has always been my bias, and it honestly hurts to think I won’t be seeing him perform or appear in content for the next two years. Going to a Seventeen concert has always been one of my biggest dreams, but the thought of attending without him on stage feels incomplete. Still, I’m incredibly proud of both him and Woozi. Serving in the military is a duty, and I respect them deeply for stepping into it with grace and maturity. As much as I’ll miss them, I’ll be patiently waiting, cheering them on from afar, and counting down the days until we see OT13 together again. submitted by /u/CucumberRound8866 [link] [comments]

1.505. FIFTY FIFTY has one of the best vocals in 5th gen

  • reddit.com language

Chanelle, Yewon, and Athena appeared on Joon and Brian BYOB. The three of them did a cappella of their song 'Gravity' with raw vocals. Their ability to break into a perfect 3-part harmony on command with no backing was very incredible. Chanelle sang 'Gravity' live on a radio show last year. Chanelle and Athena sang 'Gravity' during a Show Champion interview. Their MMT vocals were actually so good?? Like super stable and clear even live. It doesn’t feel overdone, just really natural. You can tell they’re comfy with their voices. Their vocals on CoolFM were really solid. Everyone sounded really clear and in control, and there was a natural smoothness in how they blended together. It’s clean and confident singing that shows they are getting more comfortable with live performances. You can really hear the potential in their tone and how well they harmonize. They have good vocals that make you want to keep listening. Hana and Athena sounded really good on dingo music. Their voices were super clear and matched really well. Chanelle and Hana really showed how strong and steady their vocals are when they sang 'Golden' on MonKiz’s Footsteps. It’s not an easy song to pull off, especially live, but they handled it with surprising control. FIFTY FIFTY sang really well on K-Star Next Door. Their live vocals were clean and steady, and you could tell they were fully present in the performance. Athena especially stood out when she sang her part in Atlantis Princess. She handled it with confidence and control, and her tone suited the song beautifully. FIFTY FIFTY also did a great job singing Christmas songs on hello82. Their harmonies were smooth, and their vocals had a warm and relaxed tone. They stayed on pitch and sounded natural, which shows how solid their vocal foundation is. They also performed several songs on a channel called HEYDAY. Each girl showed strong control and a natural tone, especially in the live setting. Their voices blended well together, and they handled their vocals smoothly, which really highlighted their vocal ability. My favourite performance from them is definitely their cover of "Jasmine" by Lee Seungchul. They sang it with so much emotion and control, and you could really hear the depth in their vocals. The way they handled the harmonies was beautiful. It showed how much vocal growth they've had and how well they connect with the song's meaning. submitted by /u/cyberstacked [link] [comments]
