What are some of your kpop predictions you thought of that turned out completely wrong? Here's a few of mine Teen Top would be popular, and Infinite would be a nugu after watching them on "Come to Play" boy as an Inspirit that's embarrassing Gfriend would never leave their cute concept. Fingertip changed everything (After hyuna broke up with dawn) I thought she would get together with former B2st member Hyung-seung. Mostly because i thought they were dating when they were Troublemaker and dawn reminds me a lot of hyungseung. Not all members of Twice would re-sign. I was so sure Mina would leave, Chaeyoung was 50/50. Shuhua would leave G-idle. TWS would generate the same buzz as the boyz from the get go. I mean they did from the debut but I definitely didnt see or hear much of tws on twitter or reddit as much as i did for the boyz and if we only look at the groups that debuted around the same time as TWS, then i heard more of NCT Wish than did of TWS. Maybe TWS has a more more quiet than the other fanbases? im more a casual follower so that could be it, but I am also a casual follower of Wish too but i still see more content of them submitted by /u/Creatingmugi [link] [comments]
Jaejoong and Yunho - I’m not sure why Jaejoong and Yunho drifted apart. They used to be so close, best buddies, and of course part of DBSK/TVXQ. We can only say, “In Heechul we trust,” since he’s the middle ground here...He met up with them just this past July and August. Hopefully, they’ll settle their differences and find their way back to being friends again. (SM even once planned a group called “4 Seasons” with Heechul, Kangin, Jaejoong, and Yunho. But with all four being such strong, Alpha and Sigma personalities, it never happened.) 👉 What other K-pop reunions would you love to see? submitted by /u/arcieghi [link] [comments]

A Look Back at 2nd Gen’s Flower Boys 🌸 In 2007 Jang Keunsuk and Kim Heechul made history as the very first hosts of Inkigayo (The Music Trend). The Chocoball Club: Jang Keunsuk, Heechul, and Hongki were part of this eccentric circle of AB blood type celebrities—famous for being “cool, chaotic, and unpredictable.” Jaejoong openly admired Jang Keunsuk and admitted he was heavily influenced by him. Jaejoong, Jang Keunsuk, and Hongki each built strong fanbases and successful careers in Japan. In the early 2000s, they dominated Cyworld, Korea’s biggest social media platform, ranking among the most-followed celebrities. Beyond their looks, they all shared a deep love for rock music, plus a healthy dose of self-love and confidence. Heechul is the oldest of the group, while Hongki is the youngest. They all did acting projects. Keunsuk, Hongki, and Heechul all started as actors; Keunsuk and Hongki debuted as child actors. Heechul and Jaejoong once lived in the same dorm. They had a fight over a hamburger—and didn’t talk for months afterwards. submitted by /u/arcieghi [link] [comments]

For me it's Hwasa's Maria EP. It's hands down the best kpop EP I've ever heard. submitted by /u/why_ikkin [link] [comments]

A fearnot asked Chaewon to pose with the lesbian flag in NY and the amount of comments flaming OP for "forcing their beliefs on Chaewon" and especially "making her pose with a flag she probably doesn't know the meaning of" is flabbergasting.. Not only is this woman in the same group as Yunjin, who has historically openly shown support for the LGBTQ+ community, but also Chaewon is 25. 25 and living in the internet age, in South Korea of all places. I think she knows DAMN well what a lesbian is, and likely recognises what the flag looks like. If idols were just taking flags from fans that they didn't know the meaning of, we would probably see idols posing with more controversial flags more often , but that isn't happening because they are media trained and are (mostly) adults who have access to the internet. I know the response that the video got (not the 'forcing beliefs' comments cuz thats a whole other story) exist because Chaewon is an East Asian young woman and all the weirdos in the world scramble to baby and infantilise her just because of her race and their twisted perception on how conservative and fragile to the world that they are/should be. We've seen plenty idols pose with LGBTQ+ flags before, and if it was a celebrity from a different culture even, i doubt the response seen would be the same as it always is for Kpop idols. submitted by /u/midnightdancing12 [link] [comments]

I’ve always been a fan of the creative promotions and unique ideas that K-pop idols bring to everything they release. We all know that Aespa has a very strong and creative promotion and planning team—ever since the Supernova era! (for me) But this comeback they leveled up like 100 floors above everyone else in the industry when it comes to marketing and promotions. The variety of unique promotion tactics, the fresh but different social media content, the merchandise and album designs—the fonts, colors, and every detail—are all perfectly executed and truly stand out. Cinematic and thematic films, Layered and diverse teasers, lychee Rich Truck Campaign in Seoul, aespa WEEK RichMan pop-ups, rhythm game demos, and customize merch (these pop-up stores will also appear in Los Angeles, New York, and several Chinese cities—a global experiential rollout.) Rich Man is available in three primary versions: ENERGY, BURST, and RICH MAN BAG, each packed with different merch like photo cards, stickers, and bags. According to fandom wiki, there are 15 total physical versions when including sub-variants—indicating a highly collectible and fan-oriented strategy. And that's why the album racked up over 1.11 million pre-orders. All in all they are doing — Rich Man experimental pop-up stores, interactive digital showcases, and global offline activations (in Seoul, New York, LA, Beijing, etc), themed trucks, VR/AR showcases), instead of the usual press conference + showcase format. Other companies should really learn and evolve, as creativity often falls flat in the promotion and merchandise of most groups’ albums. World is evolving dawg and fans are paying their hard earned money on all these, try to be creative! I preordered the RichMan Album btw so I am excited, at least my money is paid off for some good work. submitted by /u/Daddy1007a [link] [comments]
Do Idols not have managers regarding their own accounts? Karina's political post and Chaewon's dog video are two major examples that have tainted their images quite a lot. Its crazy how idols from two major labels have fumbled with something so simple. submitted by /u/Decent-Depth-1423 [link] [comments]
James (CORTIS) It's James from newly debuted CORTIS. It's 14th October 2005. I knew Jimin (BTS)'s birthday is a day before mine and Heeseung (ENHYPEN)'s is a day after. This random YT shorts popped up of CORTIS members' info and the eldest member James is henceforth my birthday twin. submitted by /u/Short_Mind_8233 [link] [comments]
