Can someone explain to me why so many newer songs are under 3 minutes?

For example, the Korean version of a Japanese album track, or the English version of a track. The Japanese version of Unforgiven by Le Sserafim is THAT song. I can’t listen to any other version because it just feels wrong 😅 In the middle, Enhypen’s Sweet Venom and Itzy’s Imaginary Friend have fantastic English versions and I listen to both versions equally. Had this been released when it was meant to in 2016, it most likely been huge. This was when Trop House was at its height. It was choreographed by Parris and the MV directed by Dave Meyers. I mourn what could have been. I don’t understand why YG blocked an entire album that was completely done plus all of the collaborations she recorded with Will.I.Am (when his career was still huge) that never were released.
