jin just successfully finished day 1 of his solo concert in goyang and as his fan of 6 years it’s a really emotional day for me. here’s my little rant/appreciation post for him as an artist. during this post-enlistment solo run, jin has gone so far beyond everyone’s expectations. he’s released two self-written mini albums, produced his own solo variety show, and today he kicked off his solo world tour. i fell in love with his voice as a baby army and he’s been my bias ever since. his vocals make me feel things no one else can. people love to write him off, but if there’s one thing seokjin has done in his solo era, it’s proving his critics wrong. his concert today was unlike anything i’ve ever seen. not a single dull moment. just him, a live band, and those powerhouse vocals. the stage never felt empty. there wasn’t no loud backtrack, we could only hear it for adlibs. it was so interactive, energetic and emotional. i was watching from my bed and still felt like i was part of something special. i can only imagine what it felt like in person. he really belongs on the stage :,) i love how he’s embraced this rockstar energy. he’s talked openly about coldplay is his favourite artist and i love that you can clearly see the influence of chris martin and the band in his albums and performances. i’m genuinely so proud of the artist he’s become. he’s more confident and grounded now, but still pushing himself to grow. in his first solo song, awake, he sang “maybe i can never fly”. today, while ending his song he sang “now i fly to where my heart beats” (to me, today). it feels like a full circle moment. seokjin’s journey truly has been one of growth, tenacity, and incredible artistry. and i’m just so proud to witness it. submitted by /u/JinnieP [link] [comments]
i’m biased bc i’ve been a baekhyun stan for years but i went to his solo concert in chicago on wednesday and i have to say, if he’s having a show near you, even if you don’t know him that well, you should go!! wow…probably one of the best shows i’ve been to. first of all, live vocals even during heavy dancing. he was sick too but still sounded amazing. for soundcheck, he loved the vibe so he kept singing more songs. he sang about 6. he kept asking us what we wanted to hear. he sang some acapella. same thing happened with the actual concert, he loved the vibes so he kept singing more and more songs. the thing that gets me the most is that he’s just as comfortable with international fans as he is with his domestic fans. i’ve been to kpop concerts in both korea and internationally. in korea, they have long ments, always say sweet things to fans, etc. obviously the language barrier has a lot to do with feeling as comfortable with international fans but baekhyun still had his long ments here. almost nothing was scripted. he joked around in the same way as usual. he was just silly as hell and also sweet, telling everyone how beautiful they looked. he didn’t even want to leave the stage at the end. i’m not saying other idols don’t do this btw but there’s something about baekhyun that makes me feel proud to call myself his fan they don’t call him a genius idol for nothing. he’s very cute but also very sexy. charismatic and charming. energetic. just a star. a once in a lifetime talent. i know newer kpop stans have a weird complex when it comes to older idols (baekhyun is 33, debuted at 20) but from music to personality, he’s second to none. like i said, get a ticket. he’s in the US rn he’s going to europe next. then australia and after that asia. submitted by /u/styledbypark [link] [comments]

I see quite a few other people doing this sort of thing and it seems fun! I've added my stan list, including biases, so you can see what groups I already listen. Feel free to drop some songs from groups not on the list in the comments and then if you want any songs back I'll give you some! submitted by /u/xunyomi [link] [comments]

literally just comment anything, a word, a dot, whatever and I'll reply with a very random recommendation. just note that it would really be RANDOM. think like a spotify shuffle but without your user preference input deciding the algorithm ( and instead it's my own input pfft ) So I might mention a song you don't necessarily like , or a genre you don't vibe with , or maybe you might find new songs to listen to , or maybe it's a song you already love , or a song you forgot about and you might reignite your love for ... who knows y'know ( you can reply back with what you think of the recommendation too if you want,, I'm pretty interested to hear about it !! ) submitted by /u/minijoongie [link] [comments]
Years ago I saw this instagram reel of a guy on what seemed like a Korean tv program singing a song. The clip looked like it was from the early 2000s. He had an extremely raspy voice and they put animated fox ears and nose on him. It sounded like a ballad. It had words like “hambo(?) … saranghaji(?)” idk Korean sorry. submitted by /u/Legitimate_Hat_6810 [link] [comments]

The winner of day 1, your favourite group, and our pretend groups group name is.... TWICE!! Todays question is who is your first bias? This can be your first bias from the first group you stanned or your first ult bias and can be from any boy group, girl group, or even a soloist! The idol with the most amount of votes will become our first group member. Since people were down voting answers on yesterday's question I'll be checking this through the day and will start counting votes (including upvotes) from when people first comment so hopefully it'll be a bit more fair for everyone. submitted by /u/xunyomi [link] [comments]

Being a fan of various artists throughout the years, I always brace for the period a kpop group goes through which my friends and I dub the "Journey to the West" phase. Typically a JttW phase is when a kpop group's comebacks and lead singles gain a noticeable change in several aspects. Most apparent is increased English/decreased Korean (eg a full English rap verse for the first time or a full English chorus, or a full English bridge). Also apparent is a forced execution of a concept that , frankly, feels like pandering because the executives' perception of their new target audience (i.e. us) is slightly different than who we really are. It's a journey to the Western market, so to speak. Anyways, I was upset by some recent comebacks because I felt the tracks compromised whatever group identity or cohesion built in the past 1.5 years. Underutilising vocals while increasing difficult to execute English rap verses written by people who didn't think about how it would fit with the idol (if at all) was particularly egregious. And to top it all off, many idols by this stage have few comebacks left because they get phased out by newer groups. I am worried this comeback will be a last one in a while. This. always. happens. BG or GG. And I can only complain to the echo chamber about this. submitted by /u/Schmidt_Spiel [link] [comments]
