Hey folks! Over in r/kpop we just posted a new special Town Hall that is focused only on the Flairs we use to help organize our posts based on content categories. Link to r/kpop's 'All About Flairs' Town Hall We included announcements for new flairs here on r/kpoppers and also on r/kpophelp. The following is the section relevant for this subreddit. NEW FLAIRS! Connect - This flair will be used for anything where fans are trying to socially connect with each other. Announcing new K-Pop subreddits or Discords, looking for mutual fans on social media, wanting to meet up at a concert, seeking fans in a region to form a dance group, networking for a fan project, announcing a K-Pop night at a club, etc. Research - Academic surveys related to K-Pop or fandom topics. We'll keep an eye on these new flairs to see if they create any confusion or need adjustments. Talking about Kickflip here. They had their comeback today. MV has 70k views and just 17k likes. But somehow they’ve sold 131k albums on the first day. I really don’t get how this is at all possible. First of all, before people tell me this, no, I am not talking about constructive criticism or founded critique. I'm clearly talking about insults, defamation and lies. With the recent aespa controversy, we've gone way past the "criticism" stage and many people, yes, even here on Reddit, are straight up bullying them relentlessly. When confronted, you get many Redditors and fans from other social media saying stuff like "well, MYs shouldn't have bothered other groups". There's been posts (now removed) filled with comments talking about how this is what MYs get for being toxic and whatnot. First of all... if we use this reasoning, then every single big group deserves to get bullied. Every big fandom is toxic, has hated on others, and more. Why are you people able to separate the bad from the good from your own fandom? Because no matter how hard you try, acting like MYs are uniquely evil is not only naive but dishonest. Same as saying stuff like "they've started hate trains on most other groups" which is... it's cute you think MYs are that big and powerful, but they're not. And then... how is it aespa's fault what their fandom does? Why is Giselle getting called plastic monster and edited predebut pictures of her making rounds "karma" for MYs? People have even started spreading lies about them saying how they actually can't sing and it's just SM mediaplay, and more. Should we start calling every group's hate train karma then? I'm sure many of you wouldn't like that. Why is it allowed and therefore an upvoted opinion when it comes to aespa? I don't wanna repeat every ugly thing I've seen people say about them, but it's crazy to me how K-Pop stans love to preach about mental health until it's a group they don't like for whatever reason.
