We all know K-pop has gone global—but every now and then, it still catches you completely off guard. Like hearing SEVENTEEN blasting from a random car in the middle of nowhere, or TWICE playing in the background of a cooking show! Have you ever been doing something totally ordinary, in a place you least expected… and suddenly a K-pop song comes on? Maybe while getting your hair cut, waiting in a doctor’s office, watching a Western TV show, or walking through a random store? submitted by /u/LeadershipFree1908 [link] [comments]

I’m good on age and everything, but now I just need companies that I will actually have a chance of getting into. I auditioned for Ador, FNC, Pledis, and Source music as a joke about 10 days ago and obviously haven’t got anything back. I don’t mind the size of the company. I just would like to know some that actually have a change of accepting black girls. Also, If there are any other black girls that are in the same position as me and would want to make a group chat on instagram to talk about it, we really should! My username is vividlylv ! I’ll make it and add anyone that wants to join submitted by /u/United_Basil_9216 [link] [comments]
I'll go first: BTS' Taehyung not knowing how a drive-thru works and Jimin having to teach him how to order at one. clip from Jimin and Jungkook's travel show: 이게 맞아?! (Are You Sure?!) For context, Taehyung was 27 here (turning 28). Though Koreans cannot get their driver's license until the age of 20, and being a celebrity and relying on personal drivers, I can see how he never really had the opportunity go through one by himself. submitted by /u/Lost-Opinion3554 [link] [comments]
By mainstream zeitgeist I mean omnipresence in the cultural mainstream, something I believe they did with their song Dynamite. I think everyone knows that they have a massive fandom and will obviously sell well but there's different types of fame in my opinion. Someone like Taylor Swift is a household name unlike any other artist at the moment. She is so visible that almost everyone, from her fans to her haters to people who don't care, know of her latest activities. She is talked about in sports circles, in politics circles, pop culture, music enthusiasts, critics etc. The only circle she doesn't get talked about much in is fashion circle. BTS during Dynamite were also everywhere. They had an intense western push. They were on the streaming sites, billboard charts, radio, Samsung TV ads, huge concert tours, even getting talked about in political spheres. BTS's new comeback is 10000% going to sell well. Their tour is going to be big, they likely will try to push a few singles hard too. But do we see a Dynamite being recreated, surpassed or will it be a fandom fare only? Do we see non-fans tuning in or will it only be the older fans who were waiting for them showing up for them? Will BTS gain new fans? Will the ARMY expand? submitted by /u/avrilsower [link] [comments]
It’s honestly creepy how this kind of behavior is becoming more and more normalized among sasaengs. First, one was reportedly waiting outside Jungkook’s house for 10 hours trying to get in right after he was discharged from the military—and she was only reported to the police by another sasaeng. Then came the situation with his cap, where the photo being spread was also taken by a sasaeng. Now, with reports of him being in the U.S., some of the first sources of that information were sasaeng airport photos—taken and circulated without his consent. Even now, while he’s just trying to live his life and engage in personal activities, images of him in the States are still being spread around by stalkers. Mind you, it’s only been one week since he was discharged. All of this has happened in that short span. It’s genuinely disturbing. I really hope he has a supportive, trustworthy team around him and has developed healthy coping strategies to handle this ongoing violation of his privacy. He’s spoken up about sasaengs before—specifically asking them to stop coming to his home—and clearly expressed his frustration. No one should have to live like this, and I truly hope this kind of behavior starts facing real repercussions, for the sake of his safety and peace. submitted by /u/kitty-minnie15 [link] [comments]
I’m making a PowerPoint based on this for a PowerPoint night with my friends. So far some of the iconic moments I can think of are: • BTS winning 32 music show wins (I believe without actually performing on a Korean music show). • GFriend’s 29 music show wins in 1 year with 2 songs (15 for Rough, 14 for Navillera, with Rough being their first song to get a win and is their most won). • Retroactive Wins (like NewJeans - Hype Boy, Woodz - Drowning) • Artists competing against themselves for first place (NewJeans - ETA vs Super Shy, NewJeans - Ditto vs OMG, IVE - Rebel Heart vs Attitude, IU - Love poem vs Blueming). Any other moments you can think of? submitted by /u/CaratdeuI [link] [comments]

I love how Hori7on/IZX Marcus didn’t hide his disbelief over it, coz there’s a lot of comments like that on his posts actually. Calling him their boyfriend or husband ( I just hope those who are calling him that is just around his age). There were even comments like ‘Marcus marry me’ LMAO. submitted by /u/Conscious-Cap-7250 [link] [comments]

Sometimes I go to weverse and check members and fans activities there and I see huge difference in fans posts on BTS weverse vs other groups. In other groups fandoms are usually less active but there is more meaningful posts and conversations between fans. BTS is cluttered a lot. It may be because it is most popular page but the amount of spamming, multiple and fake accounts that invites people to suspicious telegram groups, forcing the engagement in voting and amount of sexualisation of the BTS members is so huge and different compared to other fandom. Do you think it's only because they are more popular? Honestly sometimes I get tired of reporting spammers and scammers. That got me thinking maybe they should make a new account there and partially get rid of this issue but on the other hand that may not change anything. Maybe other groups fandoms are more active on other social media platforms but I don't use them so I don't know? BTS weverse became difficult to me honestly I would love to came back to 2019-2020 whe it was possible to communicate with fans without all the spam. What are your thoughts? submitted by /u/TruthApprehensive304 [link] [comments]
I have a question for fans that also belongs to girl groups fandoms. I admit I don't belong to any girl group fandom and only know few popular songs, often I don't even know girls names but I wonder how fandoms operates in those groups. In boy groups rumors and scandals can be a daily thing and amount of saesangs, toxic solo fans, sexualisation of idols and expectations to do a livestream, answer questions, say stuff or do stuff for the fans is quite high. I wonder how it is in girl groups fandoms. Do you also see big levels of parasocial relationships and expectations from girl groups? Are scandals as intense and comments as negative if something will happen or fandoms are usually more calm? submitted by /u/TruthApprehensive304 [link] [comments]

Yep, Hollow, It's a side of SKZ that more people would know about if they took the opportunity to listen to the group. I love the melody of this song; it makes me feel melancholy and a certain magical aura. I also think many of us can relate to this to some extent: achieving things, missing nothing in your life, but still feeling an existential void. My favorite parts lyrically: "I've just kept running forward without paying any attention, Just as if something had drawn me up to this point, I've checked off so many on my bucket list, Somehow, I still can't be satisfied" "I've lately been feeling flat than sharp, With my style, I've built my career in a stack, Hall of Fame, it's still far away, Shinin' star, behind it, is all in black, Eyes that focus on the minus than plus, Isn't it repeating pointlessly? I feel deflated, Everything is painful" "I embrace everything and run, but why do I feel hollow? Loneliness haunts me no matter where I am, I'm alone, Is it because the more alone I am, the more I need love? Even if I force myself to satisfy, I'm so hollow." Is this song a reflection of how they feel about themselves at this point in their careers? It probably can't be easy living the life of an idol, constantly treated like a disposable commodity and feeling superficial. submitted by /u/Turiturita [link] [comments]
The only criticism I remember from Not Shy era was Chaer’s shorts, but looking back, those are the least atrocious piece of clothing in these shots 😭😭 submitted by /u/byuldongie [link] [comments]
