I’ve been a multi-stan for a while now, and something I keep noticing in K-pop discussions especially on X is this widespread belief that girl groups receive more hate than boy groups. While I completely understand where that idea comes from (and yes, misogyny is very real in the industry and fandom spaces), I honestly don't think the difference in hate is as one-sided as people make it seem. From what I’ve seen, all idols regardless of gender get picked apart for the tiniest things. Boy group members get dragged constantly, whether it's for their looks, behavior, talent, or even just existing in a certain space. I've seen male idols get hate for things as small as their haircut or wearing a certain outfit. Maybe I’m biased because I’m a male fan who stans more boy groups than girl groups, but I’ve really noticed that the criticism, overanalysis, and online hate is pretty evenly spread. The only difference is how it manifests. I’m not denying that some female idols face unique challenges, especially in a male-dominated society and industry. But I think it’s time we acknowledge that male idols aren’t exactly getting a free pass either. submitted by /u/Narrow_Start_5340 [link] [comments]

Have you ever listened to a song,it relates to you soo much, that makes you want to cry,That's what this song did for me. The lyrics talk about overthinking and anxiety that makes you loose sleep at night, difficulty of adulting, isn't that a story of majority of us? "During the deep night when everyone is asleep, A sleepless night when voices come to me, The ticking of the clock, The noise of the city is only getting louder. Between the piled-up choices, My shoulders become heavy with anxiety, What does it mean to become an adult? Yeah Everything is getting blurry." Never have a song lyrics spoke to me this deeply,i can relate it so much, due to my own share of countless sleepless night,I'm sure a lot of people do. But the song also has a hopeful tone to it,lyrics that speak about letting those feelings go,hoping for a future, where all this struggle will be a thing of the past. "The deeper the darkness, the brighter this night shines,That starlight that won't waver The reason for this moment, I know,,We should let it go Trying to name these uncertain emotions,Countless reasons for not being able to sleep,No darkness in this world,Will last forever, someday, it will glow". Taehyun helped in composing the main melody for this song, and wrote the lyrics for this healing song,I cannot thank him enough. His voice sets a gentle soothing nature to this song that gives you peace, listening to it.He is one of the most amazing singers i know. MV was done so artfully, depicting what the song signifies in a truthful and honest manner. Some songs,no matter how many years pass by,will still be heard and cherished, this will be one of them. In a world where instant trends, virality, hype and branding are rewarded,TXT still chooses to make music that speaks to the soul.Thank you. Don't know if this is the correct subreddit to ask but just found out Taeil Moon got arrested for rape. Like he's a famous good looking dude in one of the most popular k pop groups so what would have compelled him to do this? Apparently some KPop stars have done the same but just got away with it. I used to like nct127 vlogs 2 years ago and always thought Taeil and Yuta were the coolest so wtf?!? I know the women is chinese but wouldn't it have even been easier to hookup with her as Taeil What is going on over there? submitted by /u/harrysnow81 [link] [comments]

I need this weather report concept to become a trend, it would be neat to see other K-pop acts make their discography into a weather report! Is anyone else in love with the album just from the highlight melody? BoA has a flawless discography in my opinion. submitted by /u/Shineepurlsandgems [link] [comments]
Netflix is likely releasing two sequels to KPDH and milking it for all it's worth - but it led me to think about how charming the movie is because it used so many Kpop culture references. But where does it go from here? You already have... - The concepts of Girl Crush, Dark & Aegyo with Saja Boys. To me, those are kind of the big ones, what's left is Sexy and Mature concepts? - Concerts with lightsticks, fan signing scene, variety show appearance, tik tok viral dance scene, red carpet fashion reference I would not want to be in the position of the creators in having to think about having to think of new Kpop culture things they didn't cover in the first movie (and it was rumored they wanted an ISAC scene). The only thing I can think of is Survival Shows and the Trainee system? Can you think of unique kpop things they didn't cover? submitted by /u/rtrazto [link] [comments]

if you’re in kpop fandom spaces, whenever there is an event or just in general ppl would like to talk and discuss about many things, but sometimes it can go out of hand and things blow out of proportion recent case that i’ve observed being about IVE, recently they’ve performed at the half time for Coupang Play series and one of the main discussions that happened was about the outfits, mainly wonyoungs outfit. Now me personally it doesn’t suit the event and idk why they didn’t dress her up in jersey shirts with shorts/pants like the other girls but wtv but the discussion went far when rei came on bubble and said some stuff about the outfits which wy fans did not like and resulted in leaving nasty comments towards her member now this got me thinking: why do kpop fandom spaces hate to have a healthy and civil conversation about things cus this won’t help anyone and it would only strain from the original conversation submitted by /u/Free-Application860 [link] [comments]

I was watching SKZ’s latest video and towards the end at around 40:50 they started talking about their early years. The acknowledge that they were ‘total failure’ (their own words quoted) with less than 100 people turning up for their performance, less than 500 people watching their pre-debut survival show, their song charting at 900+ on Melon (my guess it is Melon). I remember along the year they have talked about their earlier years a lot. They have said that they had felt like what they put in did not get the outcome they expected. They have always been thankful for the tiniest support they get from their fans. This reminds of a lot of idols - recently Itzy, I also remember lots of other smaller idols talking about their lack of success. Some making a joking remark. Some make serious remark. Idols from bigger companies are privilaged in a way that if their company is willing to support them for years despite ‘lack of success’ (which ever terms they set for this ‘success’), a lot more idols do not have this privilage of time/support. Whatever we have discusses here on all these social media platforms on ‘success’, these young idols probably have their own expectations of their own future (who doesn’t?). In an ideal world, everyone suceed. In reality, lots do not. I hope a lot of idols will get whatever success they want with all the effort they put into their craft. submitted by /u/Many-Ad-9007 [link] [comments]
Seunghan's debut very bitter(sad because of the situation and why) but but sweet ( the music is great) seunghan now XngHanXoul's (ex riize member) debut songs sound amazing. I Genuinely just went in because i wanted to see what he has to offer as an artist. I am not one to pity stan but his situation made me at least give him a listen because I am still so heartbroken with what happened. However ever since I listened to waste not time and heavenly blue they have BOTH been on repeat. I'll preface that i am an edm person. This is very inspiring house edm. This really reminds me of impossible one of my favorite Riize comebacks and last but I digress. My favorite is definitely heavenly blue. Definitely the love child of impossible but a bit more sentimental. Other songs the this remind sme of is like Heavenly blue envokes a bittersweet feeling but then wste no time come sin like a battery. A pick me up to say done dwell just move. Also heads up it pretty hard to find it on Spotify which I weird so here is his Spotify profile if you want to find the songs. I don’t know if it’s just me but while jyp artists frequently release new albums they are very rarely properly promoted. I personally am a stay and have attended a concert of theirs and it takes me a while to find out about heir comebacks while I can find out about non jype groups in a matter of days. I feel like jype groups always take quite a few months to do any trend and are often just not promoted or marketed properly. Why does JYPE keeps doing this’d and is it just me that is feeling like this? submitted by /u/Iristhecloud [link] [comments]

Lets make a boy group and give some underrated Idols some more visibility, so here are a couple rules to follow :) And your vocalist is: Seoho from Oneus!!! Only one member per group No members from a Big 3 group, Hybe, or Ateez (I love these groups I just want to see smaller groups get some recognition too!) Please only comment an Idol only once and upvote if you see the one you wanted to say! Please only one member per comment. Please comment member and group they are from. I will make a post around the same time everyday and voting will be open for about 24h. Day 2 time to pick your Dancer submitted by /u/MegaGlaceon22 [link] [comments]
