3.711. Not too keen on Blackpink’s latest song, ‘Jump’

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

This is in no means to hate on the track or disintegrate as it could probably end up growing on me but I’m a little disappointed with ‘JUMP’. It doesn’t really scream Blackpink to me and I’ve never associated their style with the heavy repetitive dance-eccentric sound. Okay maybe I’m not explaining it properly unless that’s the effect it’s had on me, something that I can’t put my finger on because it sounds completely off to me and not what I’d return to where their songs like “Forever Young”, “How You Like That”, “Pink Venom” and “Shut Down” have replay value to me. As for the video, the constant violent headbanging is hard to watch because everybody is vibing along to an unaspiring beat in such an overly-exaggerated manner and there are some lines you don’t cross when incorporating AI. If it’s worth noting, some people close to me would probably say that the headbanging should appeal to me as I’m into a lot of metal and that “dance” is very common in heavy music (yes another metal to K-pop transition) Either way, those are my thoughts on “JUMP” and was just expecting so much more but if this is the direction that the group want to go down then I respect that. submitted by /u/_Amo-Wolf_ [link] [comments]

3.712. BTS's Live Album feels like just the start of re-introducing the boys back at Seven!!!

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

The LIVE ALBUM itself feels like such an amazing to start introducing the boys back as 7.... listening back to how the boys are on stage... hyping the audience, having fun and doing what they do best... being BTS and performing together. I think it's worth noting that Permission to Dance on Stage being chosen as the concert for the live album was part of the introducing them back together as 7 as it's I think one of their only concerts in which ALL songs were OT7. In other concerts and tours, they either had solo sections or sub-unit sections (rapline/vocal line songs). So, permission to dance was truly the one where it was SEVEN all throughout. I feel like they are slowly doing stuff that is hyping up their return and i'm loving it. I think they've started it with this live album and seeing the teaser for the BTS MOVIE WEEKS... feels like we are getting more to build up the hype for the full comeback next year..... (I do wonder what the BTS MOVIE WEEKS will be, I am so excited for it). Also looking at how the recent PTD Live album has performed really shows how they boys managed to retain their popularity through enlistment if not grew it (thanks in part to their amazing solo releases). Just a few of the records it has broken. Biggest Weekly Debut for Live Recording in Spotify History BTS - Permission to Dance - Live - 8,351,650 *still counting (1 day left) Taylor Swift - Cruel Summer - Live from TS - 7,595,975 Biggest 1st Day Streams by a Live Album in Spotify History BTS - Permission to Dance - Live on Stage - 14.5M Beyonce - HOMECOMING: THE LIVE ALBUM - 8.5M Ariana Grande - k bye for now (swt live) - 7.3M It is projected to become 1 of 3 Live Albums to chart in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 - Taylor Swift and Metallica are the only other ones. Best Selling Live Album in both Hanteo and Circle Chart History with over 400k sales Anyway just wanted to talk about how I love the way they are subtly dropping these full group related things as a way to hype up the full group comeback... cause it also makes you look back at the boys Chapter 1 and can also just see how much they've grown throughout Chapter 2 (I do also think they'll still do some solo stuff this year, but I am also loving the way they are subtly building up the OT7 hype again). One thing though I am not looking forward to is the damn ticket war that their 2026 tour will have lmao. submitted by /u/timetosayhi27 [link] [comments]

I miss 2nd gen. We don’t need to argue if it was better or worse than other gens, I’ve just been reminiscing lately and I want to show it some love. Post a favorite 2nd gen music show performance in the comments & let’s enjoy 😊👏 One of mine is Lipstick 💄 by Orange Caramel. I like this stage, their outfits & makeup & the “falling sideways beautifully” dance is so satisfying to me😂 https://youtu.be/2BZZgs6s0O0?si=rBAE6SeqjkTrPGdR submitted by /u/No_Cobbler154 [link] [comments]

3.718. Is there a show that is the equivalent to weekly idol?

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I used to watch weekly idol and get to know groups through it. I really liked how I could find out new groups every episode, be introduced to their songs and liked the random dance stuff. I don't stan any specific group so I prefer watching a show that can give me that exposure. I'm not talking about talk shows (like IU, Eric nam or Hyeri's). And no covers. I want the groups to come on, sing and perform their own songs and have a laugh. submitted by /u/1223456kdjdhwhhbd [link] [comments]

3.720. my mother thinks it’s just a phase, but it’s so much more to me

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I’ve got into kpop a few years ago, and back then I was 18 already, so I don’t think it can be considered a “teen phase” like my mother thinks. Today she saw another album I ordered and said that she doesn’t like that I’m blowing my money away onto something that I’ll forget about in a few years(also, I buy them in moderation, only with new comebacks the groups I like) She compared it to cheap comics I used to collect when I was in elementary school, I find that pretty offensive. Kpop has become a part of my life and makes me happy and I think it’s very unlikely I’ll ever stop being into it. Especially since I’ve started going to concerts, my heart just keeps growing more attached to it, it’s just a whole other experience and in my opinion many kpop artists, especially the ones I stan, are just so talented and hardworking and on average bring out better music, choreography, concepts etc. than many western artists. Kpop is just more than music to me. submitted by /u/punpunloveschocopie [link] [comments]

3.724. BP Lisa: From 28M Spotify Listeners to 17M – Why I Think Her Numbers Are Dropping (And What She Can Do)

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I'm surprised people aren't talking about this more Her monthly Spotify listener count that amassed 28M peak listeners dropped to 17M only. That's like under 40% in drop in last four years, since her Lalisa and Money release, and seems to keep dropping 2021: This is the Lalisa/Money era where she is at 28M 2024: this year seems understandable seems there isn't much activity and rise of NewJeans, etc 2025: this is Alter Ego release year at Feb and it gave Lisa a temporary spike to 18M but months later she's now at 17M I think one big contributor is directly competing in US market is just a whole different ballgame know she is new, but I hope she will still listen to old fans like me who would want to listen to her new songs and not just be stuck to her stuff from BP. The genre and style is just too vast from her kpop stuff Now, I think what Lisa must do is at least find a different writer or write songs that combines Western style and Kpop style But still, I'm happy for Lisa, as for her line from FUTW "They want the old LISA, then listen to my old shit" indicating she doesn't really care and will do what she wants, and those who will listen will stay. But I just hope Lisa will do more balance in her future projects, go back to her roots a bit and still stay to her Western stuff. Though, There's this one song I like though is "When I'm with You by Tyla", it gives off this RnB feel and great balance of her singing and rapping submitted by /u/jp712345 [link] [comments]

3.725. i have an idea about pc trading/selling :)

  • reddit.com language

i was looking on youtube and noticing that photocard trading is pretty common and popular, however, there's not really an "official" way to trade safely and easily. i was wondering if i made a website to help people trade and sell photocards, merch, albums, etc. would it be successful? also, what are some ideas to ensure that the sellers/traders are trustworthy? any and all advice is appreciated submitted by /u/TermOutrageous8512 [link] [comments]
