For example SM, JYP, YG, and I’m going to include Hybe I know she was scouted from Starship but with her visuals she could have joined a bigger company. And no I’m not talking about her plastic surgery, she was stunningly gorgeous since she was young (which is why she got scouted). We know companies don’t care about talent so not mentioning that because Wonyoung is good enough to be an idol even talent wise. I mean the bare minimum. I’m tryna say base off her visual alone. I don’t understand why she didn’t switch companies during her training (and before izone), I mean clearly it worked for her but she could have joint a more popular company. Personally I suspect it could be because of her height because she’s pretty tall but I’m not 100% sure and there could be a plethora of reasons. Give me your thoughts. submitted by /u/enheart_ [link] [comments]

i was just thinking about how small the a-list truly is. to me, a-list means a group of people that everyone, even 80 year olds, know and/or recognize. in america, i would consider this to be people like tom cruise, taylor swift, oprah, etc. that being said, which idols fit that criteria in korea and/or their country of origin? i am assuming idols like iu and g-dragon would probably apply (though honestly i don't know), but what about super popular newer idols like wonyoung? let me know what you guys think!!! submitted by /u/amondayk [link] [comments]
hi guys !! i made this template myself so please credit me if you do use it !! let’s try and make the perfect song. :: rules :: 1) commenting the same song twice does nothing— only the song with the MOST UPVOTES will be selected !! 2) any comment that mentions more than one song are automatically disqualified, even if it has the most upvotes. 3) i’ll be giving the runner-ups (second and third most upvoted) songs honourable mentions in the posts !! 4) please comment it like this: “song (artist)” to make it easier for me to understand. please remember to follow all of the rules !! i hope everyone has fun !! <33 submitted by /u/yvie_of_lesbos [link] [comments]
For me this song was Only You by Miss A. I got into kpop just over a year ago and at first, I mostly listened to quite westernized kpop to help me adjust to the new music style. The modern non-westernized unapologetically kpop songs weren't really doing it for me at the time and this was one of the first true kpop-ey kpop songs I really enjoyed (I know no kpop song is truly non-westernized but you know what I mean). The unique song structure and production really pulled me in and encouraged me to start exploring some older kpop. What song did this for you and why? submitted by /u/SnooOranges829 [link] [comments]
I always like checking out new music with chill friends. I have this long list of kpop artists I want to go through and would love to have more jam buddies to chill to music with! I'm currently following 700+ artists on Spotify and majority of them are kpop with some jpop/cpop, other pop music, etc.🤣 I listen to most genres of music, except rock and country pretty much. *Plz have a Discord and be at least 18+! If you'd like to join me, dm me and I'll send my discord! submitted by /u/RosePetals45 [link] [comments]
Just randomly felt like sharing my biases from some groups I really like, but not a full-on stan of. There are some male idols too, but I'm more heavy on ggs, and the list is already too long LOL. Names in pic order: Yujin (IVE), Siyeon (Dreamcatcher), Moonbyul (Mamamoo), Haewon (Nmixx), Julie (Kiss of Life), Eunji (Apink), Gyuri (KARA), and Jiyeon (T-Ara) submitted by /u/beelzebub2099 [link] [comments]
Uuuh, is that flair right? So, remember those top 5 videos that got so much attention a few years ago? Kinda thought it would be fun to bring them back as questions here. I'll put my favorite dancers, vocalists and rappers here ( not the ones who are objectively the best ), but you guys can put more stuff too. I'll also only put women because I'm more of a GG stan, but I do like some male groups and idols too, I just don't know enough. Vocalists: Siyeon ( Dreamcatcher ) Yuju ( GFriend/soloist ) Wendy ( Red Velvet ) NingNing ( æspa ) Minnie ( i-dle ) Dancers: Seungyeon ( CLC ) Momo ( TWICE ) Chaeyeon ( IZ*ONE ) Lisa ( BLACKPINK ) YooA ( Oh My Girl ) Rappers: Soyeon ( i-dle ) CL ( 2ne1 ) Yeeun ( CLC ) Moonbyul ( MAMAMOO ) Asa ( BABYMONSTER ) submitted by /u/Silly-Potential2221 [link] [comments]
I just launched a new playlist packed with your favorite K-pop tracks but only in English versions. Perfect if you want the K-pop vibe in english. Give it a follow if you want from a fellow kpop lover. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1P0YEro22o63aFm8ilYl7Q?si=03ce9fbe78b34239 submitted by /u/jooonathn [link] [comments]
Ever since Liyu, Masato, and Sanghyeon ranked high in the latest rankings , the hate for them has gotten way overboard. International voters are trying to sabotage Liyu by trying to put in songs where they think he’ll not do good in. Liyu, Masato, and Sanghyeon have gotten insults thrown at them DAILY. You know the ones. Dozen, undeserving, talentless, etc. All of them get death threats as well. Why? Because people think there’s more deserving contestants and it makes them incredibly bitter. It’s not their fault they’re popular. God i hate survival show fandoms. submitted by /u/Low-Avocado4701 [link] [comments]
Since someone did a foreign and Japanese one I thought it’d be fun to do a sea/Chinese one! We are starting off with vocalist Rules: Please don’t comment the same idol more than once and upvote instead Kpop only, no kpop adjacent groups like katseye and vcha (wayv is allowed but only 3 members max to make it fair) Only idols that are from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and a southeast Asian country. Chinese/sea diaspora counts too Choose an idol that fits the category best, doesn’t need to be an official position (aside from maknae) Both female and male idols allowed and no repeats of the same idol You have 24 hours to vote! Have fun submitted by /u/staycgurlss [link] [comments]

’ve been following Le Sserafim for a while now and I’m really curious about how much potential people think they have in the long run. They debuted with a lot of hype as one of the “next big” 4th gen girl groups, and their concept feels unique compared to some of their groups. They’ve shown versatility with strong stage presence, good vocals, and a confident image that isn’t always easy to pull off. At the same time, they’ve faced setbacks like controversies and mixed public reception with certain performances, which makes me wonder how much that might impact their growth. How far do you think Le Sserafim can go? Do you see them becoming one of the defining girl groups of this generation, or do you think they’ll peak early? Would love to hear everyone’s honest takes. submitted by /u/StaffNervous246 [link] [comments]
