9. Do you think someone who is not Korean would be accepted into a K-Pop group?

  • 2 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Let's say, for example, a girl from England who grew up in South Korea and is thus familiar with culture and tradition. If she is a promising singer and dancer, would she have a chance to attend one of those academies and become a member of a K-Pop group or would that be a no go in that industry? Would K-Pop fans even accept that? What do you think? submitted by /u/Hannah_Aries [link] [comments]

10. Forcing to like an idol to seem cool or kawaii is weird

  • 2 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Let’s just say i’ve met so many people who claim “chuu is so iconic.” But cant even point out the difference between her and Jessi. Or liking wonyoung cuz of the “wonyoungism” trend when you dont even know which group she is in. Its all basic stuff and i couldn’t care less but it’s frustrating when i was bullied for listening to kpop and now these idols are suddenly their “favourite” cuz they’re on the funny or trendy side of the internet. Like my culture is not your costume ugh submitted by /u/sakura_gems [link] [comments]

11. what would have to change in kpop for it to be even more popular globally?

  • 2 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I have been wrapping my head around this question but I can't seem to find an answer. It does feel like kpop has hit a wall and I was curious as to what you guys think would need to occur for kpop to grow past it. Or maybe nothing actually has to change and it's just a matter of time? 🤷 submitted by /u/frikzzle [link] [comments]

17. What do you feel about idols covering black artists?

  • 3 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I’ve seen a couple things that make me wonder about what the actual general opinion is surrounding this. Do you consider it offensive to cover a black artist? For me I think I firstly can’t judge (not black) but also that as long as it’s done respectfully and like one would any other artist (as in done irregardless of race), it’s fine. What do you think? submitted by /u/my_shroom [link] [comments]

18. What are some songs from groups (or solos) you’re only a casual listener of or even barely know but, besides that, you consider “masterpieces”?

  • 4 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

For me, it’s “The 7th Sense” by NCT U. I think I’ve liked this song ever since it was released. I never really paid attention to the members until I started listening to more songs by NCT U and, sadly found out that it’s a rotating subunit (THAT UNIT HAS THE BEST SONGS). I remember watching the MV countless times, but I didn’t even bother to look up the members’ names back then. The synergy between Taeyong, Ten, Mark, Doyoung, and Jaehyun is incredible, especially considering they were rookies at the time. Their first steps in this effing industry. The vocals, the choreography, and the way they embraced the performance still amaze me. And last but not least, the lyrics are so deep. Btwc,422?;7’, Korean isn’t my first language, so I’ve only read translations (from different sources), but my impression has always been the same. The idea of a shared consciousness is fascinating — or at least that’s what I inferred from the translations. What about you? I’m curious 🧐 submitted by /u/AnnDalbit [link] [comments]

20. How do yall choose your bias in a group?

  • 5 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Basically what I'm trying to say is do you choose your bias based on their skill in vocals, rapping, dancing, the maknae, the prettiest or the one that is the most popular etc.I personally choose the one who is the main vocalist most of the time, as I just love listening to the soft high note parts of a song-in a case where I think the main vocalist is not the best, I choose the best one, and sometimes I just choose the one who has instant aura in a group. submitted by /u/Particular-Rain116 [link] [comments]

21. Back in the day, what websites or apps did you use when you were first getting into K-Pop?

  • 5 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I was just having a huge wave of nostalgia thinking about how I first discovered kpop and all the resources I used back then. For videos, it was a mix of a few platforms! Obviously, there was a ton of time spent on YouTube, but I remember watching a lot of uploads on Dailymotion back then too, especially for older or less-available content. And of course, V-Live was absolutely essential! I remember purchasing CH+ just to see the behind-the-scenes videos and photos for shows like Run BTS. There’s also Spotify but I’m too broke to pay for monthly subscription so I made multiple emails and survived on free trials. 😅 Speaking of BTS, I also remember getting completely hooked and downloading the BTS World game! I spent so much time collecting cards and going through the storyline, Jin and Taehyung’s acting was great! As for the rest, and I’m saying this with love, should stick to music. LMAO. The soundtrack was awesome!!! Also one of the main websites I practically lived on was kpopping.com, there’s a ton of kpop profile websites but I loved that site! It was so much fun reading through all the artists' profiles, and the best part was that you could contribute to the community! I spent so much time adding photo albums, editing profiles. So, what about you? What were the go-to websites or apps you used when you were first starting to get into kpop? submitted by /u/Ashamed-Fondant4783 [link] [comments]
