47. More than just Sexy -- the Intoxicating Nectar Gaze of Ten✨

  • 10 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Part of the reason why fans have different tastes, aside from their backgrounds, is that they have different levels of keenness and receptivity. One performance can be experienced in different ways because the way one experiences things has lot to do not only with the artist but who he/she is. As for me, I’ve always been drawn to philosophy, mythology, arts and spirituality so I am wired to be attracted to certain types of artists. And for me the eyes are truly the windows to the soul so with that I found myself deeply fascinated with the eyes of Ten Lee. And recently I was finally able to understand why. Ten’s eyes aren’t just “sexy” or “sweet”. It actually feels like nectar — both intoxicating and nourishing. The best way I can explain it is through two ancient concepts: Soma and Amrita. 🌙 Soma = Intoxication, Ecstasy, Power In the Vedas, soma was the nectar the gods drank to stay powerful. Indra, the king of the gods, would gulp down vast amounts before slaying demons with his vajra (thunderbolt). It gave a high: energy, frenzy, intoxication. But it didn’t last — the gods had to drink again and again. Ten’s Soma gaze → in performances like WayV’s Nectar, his half-lidded eyes intoxicate, tease, and drive fans into madness. It’s like he awakens their inner maenads (the frenzied followers of Dionysus, Greek god of wine and revelry). That frenzy is addictive — fans want more, and more, and more. 🌊 Amrita = Bliss, Immortality, Transcendence By contrast, amrita was the nectar churned from the cosmic ocean, granting immortality itself. Unlike soma, it’s eternal — a single taste gives undying bliss. Ten’s Amrita gaze → this is the side that inspires devotion. If you watch him with keenness and receptivity, his eyes don’t just seduce, they nourish. Some fans feel serene, full, even spiritual — as if they’ve touched something timeless. In certain videos like in Stunner mv, his eyes can feel beautifully languid hinting of sensuality but in a very relaxed and effortless kind of way. Sometimes, his half-lidded gaze feels meditative, as if he isn’t performing at all but letting the dance flow through him. Instead of hunger (Soma), you feel a swelling in your chest, like nothing else is needed. ✨ That’s the paradox of Ten: his gaze holds both Soma and Amrita. To some, he’s intoxicating and addictive. To others, he’s blissful and complete. And although other artists also sort of try to do this, the beauty about Ten is that his eyes and his entire body, including his breath, are always on the same page so it feels fully authentic and not performed – for him it's like an inner intoxication spilling into his expression. However, the most glorious things are extremely rare so Ten holds them just long enough for it to feel like a flash of nectar you barely got to taste of, or for you to wonder what was it exactly about his eyes (aside from being sexy/pretty) that drew you. Sometimes you will not even be sure if it can be caught well enough by screenshots, but you know something was there in his eyes. Now, how about you? What do you see in the eyes of your favorite artist? submitted by /u/Intelligent-Ad9582 [link] [comments]

53. B.A.P. NEEDS to Make a Comeback — K-Pop, Bring Them Back!

  • 11 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I’m mainly a BG solo stan, but I’ve checked out other boy groups here and there to compare—especially the popular ones. Honestly, B.A.P. takes the crown as the best, at least in my opinion. Aside from my bias, they’re the only group who’s drawn me back enough to watch at least five of their MVs all the way through. They caught my attention from their very first MV, and I just kept coming back for more. Even their videos from 13 years ago still slap today. They have genuinely solid, powerful voices—real vocal talent—combined with fiery, intense energy, and they all look great. They’re the perfect mix of talent and charisma. Seriously, the group should reunite! They’re a true gem, and it would be such a shame not to see them perform together again. submitted by /u/arcieghi [link] [comments]

57. Hypothesis: Cortis is for the boys, not the girlies

  • 11 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Really audacious statement, but part of me genuinely thinks that Cortis was made to appeal to the teen boy experience in the same way that New Jeans did for the girls. I’ve seen lots of discussion that people have mixed opinions on their songs, especially with how abrasively auto-tuned it is, almost like Carti or Travis Scott. But that’s just precisely because kids, especially boys, like Carti and drain gang and w/e. Furthermore, their styling has been incredibly grounded, and makeup super minimal. Their music videos for Go and What you Want give like side questing with the boys filtered through the lenses of Tik tok, and “fashion” gives heavy moto, opium vibes, which is just every aspiring fashion guy online. All of these observations together make Cortis feel distinctly like a boy group via the ‘masculine’ lense with much less attempt at courting a female fan base besides the fact that these guys are 100% conventionally attractive. I think it’s interesting that they’ve seem to really take their male idols seriously as teen boys that want to be cool, aggressive, and flamboyantly boyish in their own way that doesn’t pander to creating more believable boyfriend material for Delulu fangirls. Hopefully Cortis might court a new audience of more teen boys in Korea and the west that might give them a new outlook on adolescence like what new Jeans undoubtedly did for the girlies. submitted by /u/kiittkaattt [link] [comments]

61. Bts comeback and when they will become active

When do think bts become active as group? It's more than 4 months still there is no proper promotion as group They are doing solo it's fine But they are not feeling as global group.jusg see how blackpink getting back to back group promotion in series and all even though they are doing solo? Why bighit not promoting bts 🙄🙄 We want to see them as group as well..idk why people think doing group means restricting their so called indiviality.at the end music is music .and many people and antis forced that solo agenda on bts out of insecurity so that their real favourite group get more chance🙄 It's funny that some kpoppies force agenda when it's not work among gp. submitted by /u/BullfrogVisual2832 [link] [comments]

62. Is it okay to share a short survey here about why U.S. fans are learning Korean?

  • 12 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Hi mods and community 👋 I’m putting together a short, anonymous survey (5 minutes) for people in the U.S. who are learning Korean. It asks about motivations (like K-pop, K-dramas, heritage, or career), learning challenges, and study preferences. Before I share the link, I wanted to check: is it okay to post this kind of survey in r/kpoppers ? It’s strictly non-commercial and for research/insight purposes. Thanks so much for letting me know! 🙏 submitted by /u/Vegetable_Table_9831 [link] [comments]
