My parents had their own bands ans fav artists, even had similar haircuts because it was stylish when they were younger and the fans hype was big. Mind you, this has been going on for years, I'm an adult now and she still does it... Whenever I want to buy an album (I have 0 for that same reason) PC, download a picture, draw them, have lyrics or pics as my wallpaper she'll go "who's that? Celebrity? Kpop? Are you worshipping them? Stop it!! Stop worshipping, you should be drawing your family/put them as wallpapers instead!!!" "(Albums) thats just a bunch of colored papers, what's so special about owning it? You don't need it" I don't know, why would you own a painting? Its just a colorful paper. Maybe I want to stare at it, put it on a shelf, have an hobby, collection? Idk not everything needs a "why"... This is pretty stupid but since kpop demon hunter came out I've been STRESSING because if they hear about it they'll go " literal DEMONS!!! LOOK AT THIS! they made a movie about your kpop music with DEMONS! STEAL SOULS!"... "your idol" song is my greatest enemy, it's pushing the worship agenda helppp loll I'm just tired, everyone out there seems to have their walls covered in posters, wallpaper and pfp's of their favorite groups/bias, making and posting art of them, learning choreographies and meeting other fans. Meanwhile I can't do any of that 'cause I'm still living under my parent's roof. I feel lonely, I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same thing rn? PS: I'm not a crazy or delusional fan, never acted like one, I really don't see what could be considering "worship" here... If I had an unhealthy obsession okay, but I don't. it's unfair. submitted by /u/HighKey-Anonymous [link] [comments]
Hey guys! I am newer to kpop and wanted to find some new music. What are some of your favorite kpop groups, artists or songs? I am really into ATEEZ, stray kids, p1harmony, Blackpink and red velvet so far. Thanks for the recommendations submitted by /u/Adorable_Shoe7847 [link] [comments]
Hello, I am currently working on a campaign to speak up against WakeOne and CJ ENM for their long history of survival show, mistreatment of their groups, broken promises, and how they have not changed at all since the rigging scandals. If anyone has any information to add on produce or planet series including B2P, iland 1 or 2, Queendoms or Kingdoms, SMTM, Street Dance Fighers, ioi, wannaone, izone, X1, TO1, Kep1er, ZB1, or izna, please comment or send me a dm. Below are rough drafts of the allegations of mistreatment and the plan of action. Thank you for your time! itās so tiring watching people act like this current era of kpop is so ābadā or āboringā and now I wonāt sit here and act like itās the best thing ever but thereās clearly an insane amount of exaggeration going on and itās due to nostalgia blindness. Itās come to the point where people act like thereās no more talent and i just think itās a stretch bc thereās plenty of good singers, dancers, and performers still. Music quality has definitely dropped over the years bc of certain trends but itās nowhere as bad as people make out to be especially this year like so many songs have went triple platinum in my headphones. The biggest thing that annoys me right now is the 5th gen slander idk about you guys but thereās a good amount of kpop excellence that has come out of 5th gen thereās so many 5th gen groups that remind of 3rd gen and maybe Iām just the only one that sees it idk. Itās starting to feel like Iām being gaslighted like no, kpop isnāt that bad you just miss 3rd gen. submitted by /u/SympathyRough5235 [link] [comments]
Iāve been seeing a lot of videos lately about how Tarzzan from All Day Project is racist. As I watch these videos all they talk about is how Tarzzan is trying to act black and somehow thatās being labeled as racist and cultural appropriation. From what Iāve seen, heās never claimed he was black or in any way tried to appropriate African American culture. I asked some people on TikTok on how he was racist, and they would bring up things like āhe wears braids, uses ninja emoji, wears baggy clothing, and tries to act black,ā Iām confused cause none of those things make you racist⦠im starting to thing people are just genuinely racist themselves and are self projecting there racist stereotypes of black people if anything!!! Cause what do you mean wearing baggy clothing and rapping is trying to act black?!! The ignorance. I honestly think this is a chronically online issue. submitted by /u/Top-Possession2543 [link] [comments]

I am not talking about stuff like stealing idol's stuff, breaking into their houses, asking them to marry you by bringing a fake certificate, ... not that level More like ... Here are examples from me, so you kinda know what I mean: Bought a cosy thick jacket on Amazon years ago and wore for 5 years that had Jungkook written on the back altho I was never really into Jungkook at all and only liked V when I was a BTS-stan for some years Kinda liked BT21 and bought some stuff from it when I had already unstanned BTS Bought an EXID album altho I am just a casual listener and not a stan Wrote about how pretty I foind an idol altho I don't stan him and even wrote some kinda harmless mocking comments on him years before, but hey altho I am not too much a fan, hes still handsome tho Asked a question on some website's online event for a group I don't even stan just cause I hoped to get an answer to something I wanted to know (my question wasn't picked so I don't know what they would've said) Whatching an MV of an artist I never listened to again just after watching the MV just so I knew why everyone was raving about that group, just so I could also say I had watched it š but than noped out of convos when people asked me to point out what I liked on the MV Now it's your turn, whats something you did that is slightly questionable in some way or another that you did ? submitted by /u/Beautiful_Yellow_682 [link] [comments]
So I went to Straykids NYC concert on June 18th. When I went I wasnāt really thinking about anything. I knew what merch I wanted and part of that was the sweater. Now that school is coming up idk if I should wear it. It will be my first year of high school. And all I hear from anywhere are horror stories for their freshman year. I already have many keychains and I will be adding my own Straykids keychain to it but that wonāt be such a big problem. But the sweater clearly shows Straykids dominate. And itās hard to miss. So I was wondering if I should wear it or go for a plain back sweater? submitted by /u/Ok-Rice-1928 [link] [comments]

I don't mean K-Poppy J-Pop lol...I mean like REAL J-Pop. It's hard at least for me š It's a bigger world than K-Pop and I have yet to find something that is still J-Pop, has elements from K-Pop, but isn't westernized like K-Pop is. HANA is cool and all but not really my cup of tea in terms of girl groups. I've just been too spoiled by K-Pop for years š© submitted by /u/No-Vehicle1562 [link] [comments]
Maybe it's preemptive but what happened to their hype and charting...everywhere? Their Spotify numbers aren't as high as their earlier cb this year which got over 2 million and despite their high monthly listeners other groups with their ml had higher debuts. Their melon charting is also weak; they didn't enter the melon daily and can't stay on the top 100 during the day and the album barely scrapped 2ml in 24 hours. BH went all out for the promo and there was hype everywhere so what happened? Is their fandom gone? submitted by /u/mannimonn [link] [comments]

blackpink 2018 live album is so good Iāve always been a fan of live albums, and recently ive been going through the blackpink ones, and the 2018 āin your areaā is so so so good the remixes of stay, whistle and ddu-ddu-ddu elevate the songs to new levels, the energy of the girls really shines throughout the album, the run from āboombayahā to āas if its your lastā to āwhistleā is unmatched oh its so good! i just think this album is perfect, and i need more live albums in kpop submitted by /u/Zaebii [link] [comments]
