Help a T.O.P girlie out — looking for the full version of this pic
I’m a huge T.O.P girlie and I wanna make a custom phone case 😭 I might be getting a new phone soon and I’ve been searching everywhere but can’t find any BigBang or Seunghyun cases at all. I found this recent pic of him (1st pic) that I’m OBSESSED with — he looks so cute and sweet (simp mode fully activated). Does anyone know where this photo is from or if there’s a more zoomed-out version of it? I tried resizing it but with how the new iPhone camera is, a lot of the top part of the case gets covered (2nd pic). I don’t wanna crop it weird so it looks like he’s missing hair or half his face 😭 I know I could pick another pic if I have to, but this one’s one of my faves and I really want something recent since he’s changed a lot. Also I just wanna be respectful — I know he’s not part of BigBang anymore and wants to be seen separately. Not like he’d ever see it lol but still 🥲 Thanks in advance!! 💜 submitted by /u/Interesting-Plan-867 [link] [comments]

104. I really wish Ravi wasn't dumb and didn't ruin his career because he was so talented

For context he was the rapper of vixx and producer who for a long time held the record of idol with the most writing/production credits. But he ruined his career by trying to get out of military service and going to jail. I miss his rapping so much 😭 it always perfectly fit into their songs and his style and tone were amazing. That vixx sound he helped delop was addicting. So much talent wasted. submitted by /u/xlov_mother_muti [link] [comments]

It's no secret that K-pop fans are teased at school, so they had to give you a nickname. Before, it was more common for people to “hate” K-pop and make fun of the fans. The most common nickname or tease was “crazy for the Chinese.” submitted by /u/Effective_Science_35 [link] [comments]

108. Can someone explain stage presence without bias

  • 21 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I see people constantly praising certain idols for their stage presence, but sometimes it just feels like they're winking or doing a hair flip and everyone loses their mind. For example, I do get why Jeemin is ranked #1 — she naturally draws attention and feels like the center. Sarang too, despite her size, really demands attention when she performs. But then I get confused when people put idols like Saebi in their top 3 just because she gives “Wonyoung vibes.” To me, that feels more like a visual comparison than actual presence. On the other hand, I think Jungeun has amazing stage presence — especially from “Timebomb” to “Mamma Mia” — she really feels like the dancing focal point. I just feel like a lot of stage presence arguments are really just “you’re pretty, so you must have presence,” and that feels off to me. So what really makes someone have good stage presence, and why do you think some idols are praised for it even when their performances don’t seem that engaging? submitted by /u/StyleIllustrious2271 [link] [comments]

116. I am really worried about the state of kids and kpop in general rn

  • 23 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I’m sure everyone has seen the stuff that has been going on Twitter in the past couple days or really this climate has been going on since 2024 and it’s beginning to feel so weird to me, I don’t know how else to explain it. Discourse has become so much more violent and full of misinformation, funniest of all almost mimicking the current state of world politics and it’s insane to me how bad it has gotten. For example now it’s normal to have many hate accounts dedicated exclusively to that or to only talk about the people you hate and not the people you actually stan. I know fanwars have always existed but I don’t remember them having this mass traction and may I say mass psychosis?? And most of these people are high school kids. I am 22, getting a BA and starting a MA, I was 16 when I started liking kpop and joining fandom spaces, even then I didn’t even have the time or the mental capacity to put all my energies on hating someone, let alone now lol. I mean what is happening? What has happened that made everyone so crazy? Hope I’m not the same who thinks like this, it’s a long rant lol. And this honestly goes beyond which fandoms or idols you like, all of this goes beyond that because I think everyone in some kind of degree has seen these changes. TLDR: Kpop has gotten super violent lately, especially from stans who are young, and I don’t understand why or how can they find the time and mental energy to do that. submitted by /u/purplefairylight [link] [comments]

118. 💭 “I miss the dark, alternative side of K-pop — anyone else?”

  • 23 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

“Sometimes I feel like K-pop lost its soul. It used to have pain, chaos, identity — every group had their own universe, their own story, their own sound. Now everything feels too pretty, too clean, too predictable. I miss the dark concepts, the heavy rap verses, that raw energy that gave us chills while watching a music video. Now everyone’s a “boy next door” — they smile the same, sing the same, dress the same. Everything turned into the “clean boy” trend: soft music, school concepts, practiced smiles, commercial aesthetics. It’s not bad… but it’s all the same. I miss that feeling of “wow, this is different,” that emotional weight, that boldness. It feels like K-pop got scared of being weird — but being weird is what made it special in the first place. Will the dark, the alternative, the experimental ever come back? Or has K-pop become nothing more than a polished product behind a showcase? submitted by /u/strawberry867m [link] [comments]

119. I genuinely don’t understand the criticism against Annie. Is it wrong to support her?

  • 1 day ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

TLDR: I’m wondering if it’s ethical to support Annie and does she deserve the hate she receives because she was born into money and inevitably chose to live her dream in the spotlight? Should her fans be “ashamed” for supporting her? I’m looking for an honest dialogue specifically in regard to whether or not Annie deserves the hate for being born a chaebol and still wanting to pursue her dreams in the public eye. After seeing a lot of opinions and following this debate for months, I’m curious about your opinion on whether or not it’s moral for people to support her. Prepare for a yap session! For context: I’m not a huge fan of hers or ADP. I do try to understand where everyone is coming from logically, not based on assumptions. I can’t deny she has definitely benefited from her family’s privilege, and they have built their wealth off of blood money whilst using their power for evil. Defending her family or thinking it’s something worthy of praise is obtuse, and that’s not my goal. But please help me understand how she is at fault for what her family did. When people state reasons for disliking her, the main points seem to be; 1. Chaebol: She was born into money as a chaebol and deserves to be hated on solely for that fact, to which I genuinely ask, why? What is she at fault for specifically, or is it only the association that makes her guilty? /gen 2. Benefits from the privilege and doesn’t care: They dislike that she hasn’t cut ties with her family and seemingly “has no problem with the atrocities they’ve committed.” I wonder if it’s all that easy considering how they’ve (allegedly) blackballed other people who go against them. SSG is rivaled with Samsung in the amount of control they have over SK. Could she so easily speak out and denounce her extremely powerful family? I don’t know how it works behind the scenes, but at the end of the day none of us do, right? It’s all based off assumptions. Even if we consider the possibility she may have no real say or power, does she still deserve the hate? 3. Wanting to be an idol when she’s not forced to: This one confuses me a little. Is she not supposed to chase her dreams because she was born into money? Becoming an idol isn’t typically something one does when they get bored; she really wanted it despite people saying she’s being “forced.” Her debut shows she didn’t get lazy or complacent because of her status. She actually worked towards something she had a passion for, despite her parents not supporting it at first, and trained without permission while attending university. I’m not saying she’s not extremely privileged, but come on, that privilege can only get you so far; she still had to put in the hours. Let’s not pretend she hadn’t faced a single hardship while doing those things simultaneously as a teenager. If I understand correctly, a lot of people also hate the fact that she has money to fall back on and didn’t have to go into crippling debt to achieve her dreams. They’re upset that their idols had to work a lot harder with a bigger risk, which I understand is unfair and frustrating, but again does it justify her hate? 4. Nepotism & Connections: With every opportunity she and her group receive, I notice talks around nepotism and connections. I would love if there was any proof to reflect these claims. On X, the narrative is painted like she’s the one making the boss calls and getting her grandmother to move behind the scenes for her. Are we just assuming this all with no proof and going off the possibility? /gen. The general public in SK love her group despite what social media says, including many of our idols that keep promoting them. 5. Her “personality”: I use quotes because most of what I see are conclusions made from groundless assumptions. They assume because she’s grown up wealthy that she’s probably living in another world and must not have manners. Saying she gives off “mean girl and bully vibes” when they do not know anything about her true character, all based off… literally just “vibes.” I always thought it was weird to assume/speculate the relationships of strangers through a camera when they don’t know who we are. I personally judge people on the basis of their character and what they decide to show me. I’ve seen more of their content than the average person, and the image she gives off (which could be fake but none of us can actually know) she seems to be a humble and a level-headed cool girl. She seems to be a dependable leader and a caring older sister, coming from the people that actually know her, her members and friends. I can understand being wary or having preconceptions around wealthy people, especially a chaebol, as they more often tend to be removed from reality and stuck up, but if you actually get to see her exist as a regular person, she seems to be the opposite of that. Calling her a mean girl and a pick me based off the VIBES of a stranger seems unfair and almost misogynistic considering they say the same about the other girls in the group for seemingly no reason. They all seem to be kind people. Also, these are kids we’re talking about. Are we really letting the concept fool us? Did we forget there’s an idol persona and then a real person behind that? I hope I worded my thoughts clearly. If you disagree, I would love to hear why! submitted by /u/HotDescription3847 [link] [comments]
