87. The taboo on dating is actually such a fucking shame

  • 17 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Guys, we're missing out on the cute couple photos 😭😭😭 The only good part is that it means breakups are then basically known to virtually nobody (or at least confirmed), which makes coordinated events less awkward But still... Don't you guys think the whole dating taboo should be done away with by now??? I can't tell whether or not the industry has become more 'accepting' or more focused on fanservice and parasocial relationships anymore Knetz pick and choose who they're supportive of (Rain/Taehee, IU/jongsuk,jisoo/bohyun, haechan/ryujin, Jihyo/Kangdaniel, Momo/Heechul) and who they want to absolutely obliterate (Karina and Jaewook a huge one obviously) And international fans say they're supportive and then the crazy girlfriend stans and fanboys start attacking every little thing known to man As someone who loves everything romantic and cute, this is just annoying. I highly respect it if celebrities genuinely want privacy, but what about those who want to share their happiness with everyone? Realistically, this probably won't change anytime soon But still seems like a funny thought to me lol submitted by /u/Gold_Meaning3688 [link] [comments]

so basically i've been auditioning for kpop companies for a bit now and i rlly need some advice from ppl who know their stuff so for context, i'm blasian (black + korean) but my korean is lowk trash bc i grew up in boston with my mom and my dad dipped when i was young. i'm self taught tho and can get by if i went to korea but like... it's def not perfect lmao i passed auditions before with some ents (not gonna name drop bc you never know whos watching 👀...) and even got scouted through ig dms recently but it was some random small company that seemed sus so i didn't go thru with it. last year i passed with Super Lady by Gidle for vocals and the need to know choreo from 1Million, plus i sang Love dive by IVE at one of them too this time around im planning to audition with: singing: Crime and Punishment by Ado dance: either wanna be by ITZY or Eleven by IVE i've gotten into some big 5 companies twice and smaller ents too but i rlly wanna make it into hybe labels or yg this time. like that's the goal fr being an idol isn't my actual life dream tho, i actually wanna be a neurosurgeon like my dad (the brain is literally so cool) but i do this for fun and i'm rlly passionate about it. i even make my own gg concepts, group names, produce songs and plan out whole mv concepts for these imaginary groups i wanna debut in lol anyway does anyone have tips on what companies rlly look for or how to stand out more?? anything helps honestly, i just wanna level up my audition game thanks yall 🙏 submitted by /u/CompoteDowntown3109 [link] [comments]

Translation — What’s important in life? Money? Health? Family? Work? Or all of them? These days, most young people have to trade their souls just to earn money and gain recognition. During that time, they convince themselves that merely existing — that their time alive — is meaningful and special. They support organizations and systems that fit them, just to maintain a sense of identity and autonomy. Life isn’t all about money. It’s important, but it’s not the top priority. Yet, those who succeed first climb above the youth chasing after money, acting all the more repulsive — pretending to be refined, cool, individualistic, open-minded, and sophisticated. Someone loses their life, sells their soul, and is forced to move within a society that suppresses freedom. Or they just don’t care. It’s revolting and disgusting. What really matters, honestly? A staff member who worked hard at the store died, yet before that case was even resolved, you held a pretentious exhibition. You posted a few clumsy drawings and captions, acting like the most devoted person in the world. Did you ever once reflect on the soul of that employee whose life was cut short? While one of your company’s artists stopped their activities, you — whether intentionally or not — were busy enjoying fame in the U.S., indulging in luxury, or trying to prove yourself. Once, you claimed you wanted to make the world a better place through music. Did you ever have a single sincere conversation with your artists? Stop pretending to be special. — END TRANSLATION submitted by /u/Record4Hype_zip [link] [comments]

98. Is crazy how the K-Pop culture fucks people minds in a inexplicable way.

  • 19 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I've started listening to K-Pop probably around the time Jessica Jung (GG Ex-Member) was getting kicked (2014ish). I was probably 13y around that time and right after I started listening to it, the fan wars were getting to me like water in a fountain. I was obsessed to defend people that I didn't know (and still don't know) in the slightest. And after 10y is still crazy how sometimes I get myself defending these idols when honestly I wouldn't get myself defending even my fav western artists like Lana Del Rey. Like, I know she's problematic as fuck but I never went to a Reddit thread or Instagram posts to be like "YOU'RE JUST JEALOUS. YOU'RE UGLY USELESS" and bla bla bla, yk... K-Pop fans being the usual. And not gonna lie, for me the problem isn't us having arguments around the K-Pop because Korea Culture and K-Pop culture have some very interesting and contradictive stuff to talk about. But when you think you can have a sincere and good argument with a opposite fan of your fav group, yk they're about to talk you some crazy shit just because you're on the "opposite side". Even worst, most of my argument were with 19-26y olds at least that's what they said at the time, but the crazy thing is that you expect this behavior from kids and not young adults or literal adults. submitted by /u/0110I1I [link] [comments]

103. The fate of Newjeans after this most recent ruling (prediction)

  • 21 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

They’ll almost certainly be dungeoned until 2029 when their contract releases them, or pay several hundreds of millions of dollars to escape it. Then, they better really pray Min Heejin will accept them into her new company so they can repay that money overall several years. I think other companies would be hesitant to work with them understandably enough. Maybe they’ll release new music or do other promotions, but I see that rather unlikely as they have been quite adamant on not working under HYBE. Maybe they’ll get counter sued by HYBE for even more money because they haven’t been working under contract. Would you say this is a fair prediction? submitted by /u/Yvmeno [link] [comments]

104. What do you think will happen to Newjeans?

  • 21 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I'm not looking for trouble. Do not hate on me. I really like them and i miss them and their music a lot. I am not one of the toxic twitter tokkis, but i am a very big fan. (What i mean is that i wont hate on anyone not liking newjeans and i wont stalk them nor their family lol). Today (30th october) they lost the court case, i wasnt suprised but it still hurt a bit ofc. Are you optimistic for their future? Do you think they will ever be able to create music soon? no matter the label i just miss the members. Is it over for them? Thank you, take care. submitted by /u/Bubbe103 [link] [comments]
