Just finished watching 2nd ep of Planet C. For the last 10 mins of this episode, I was actually speechless. At how bullshit it is. What the fuck is even happening? I don't even know where to begin. It's like Mnet doesn't even try to hide their hidden agenda anymore. Because they believe no matter how much shit that comes out of their asses diehard fans will eat that shit and say thank you. Ho leee. Why even bother having the master evaluation when almost half of the planet C participants are eliminated? It's very hard to believe this is because of the star creator evaluation. In fact, I also HATE how they made the star creator evaluation for the signal song. 1 month before the show aired? I haven't even heard of Boys Planet having a season 2 until early June because I don't follow the news closely, let alone knowing the evaluation has started long ago. Is it my fault I did not know the evaluation started early? Am I crazy for thinking how bullshit it is that they made the signal song evaluation a literal MONTH before the episode airs? What even is the point of airing the second episode and giving screentime to participants that were already eliminated by the end of the episode. I literally cannot comprehend. If you started the evaluation early then how will people know some of the participants? That is so weird to me. They should have just kept the voting system from the past seasons (although we all know that is still questionable, that still works better). I almost hate everything about this show now. The storylines, the unnecessary drama, the fucking judges especially Lee Jae Joong. I literally can't think of any reason why they would let Sangwon and Anxin keep their All star positions in the master evaluation other than Mnet ordered them to. Sangwon sang terribly, and Anxin didn't even sing some of the lines. How is that an all star? To top to that, they even made him center lol. If they really wanted him to be center, they should've at least made sure to not show his mistakes during his master evaluation signal song performance. That is sooooooooo fucking weird. The blander on He Zhong Xing, giving him a lot of screentime just to give him the narrative that he doesn't practice hard enough or that he dances the way he likes. And to kick him even more when he is already down. I can't even imagine how brutal is must be for him to go look so lost and down as he is now. The changing of classes after the "initial" master evaluation is so unnecessary too. It's like having a zigzag of emotions for most of the participants, having some of them move ranks 3 FUCKING TIMES. And lastly, poor Krystian. Blud didn't get much screentime last season, not even til now. And he is eliminated now even earlier without even showing his signal song performance. I feel very sad seeing him smile sadly as he accepts the No Star. I wanted to support him longer because he has a huge potential. But Mnet being the xenophobic entity is, won't let that happen. Maybe I missed some more bullshit points on the show but I mainly focused on the Planet C episode this week because it is by far the worst, and I mean the worst, survival show episode I have seen in my entire fucking life. So yeah, maybe I'll keep watching because I still want to support Seo Won and some people from Planet C, and I want to see their next challenge, but maybe I'll just skip the other parts of the show. Let me know your thoughts or if I interpreted some things wrong, I am very open to discussion I just had 2 of my posts in the Boys Planet subreddit because of "Be Original". PMO even more than the show itself, how can every post with a rant be original its like they dont want anyone posting at all lol submitted by /u/NwordMinaj23 [link] [comments]

SHINee’s Jonghyun publicly supported a transgender student’s letter about LGBTQ+ rights on Twitter back in like… 2013? And honestly, it still means so much. He posted the letter as his profile pic and DMed the person personally. submitted by /u/YeosangYodeler [link] [comments]

3.440. Bad experience at Jin in Tampa— disappointed and need advice, feeling like concert etiquette is going downhill

I flew from seattle to Tampa to see Jin from bts. He was not performing at my home, and I had 4 choices of where to fly, so Tampa worked for me. But, usually I go to California. I’m feeling really down in my hotel room right now. I had barricade on floor and the people around me impacted my enjoyment of the concert. They passed out barricade bracelets during soundcheck. But, once the actual show started, unfortunately security gave up and didn’t enforce anything. Rows of people crushed barricade and I had phone and arms hitting me, bumping me, and blocking my view. One girl even complained to me when I wouldn’t move so she could be next to her friend. (She wanted her friend to have my spot). Then they were taking selfies and blocking the stage most of the concert. It made me so frustrated and disappointed because I’ve traveled for concerts a bit, and haven’t experienced this before. Feeling really down. Has anyone else had bad K-pop concert experiences lately? I think I’m just going to avoid floor altogether going forward. submitted by /u/thelakesfolklore [link] [comments]

3.442. I think being a casual fan of Blackpink is the ultimate sweet spot

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I like a huge chunk of their music, I do make sure to check out their new releases and I've been vibing to Jump since its release. I think being a casual fan of BP might actually be the best possible way to enjoy the group. I genuinely enjoy when new music drops but I'm not stressing over hoping for a new comeback, or feeling disappointed when things are delayed or getting caught in fandom drama. I don't wait for comebacks. If it happens, YAY! but if they disappear for 2 years? I just listen to other groups and circle back when they come back with a single. It's peaceful here. When something does release it's more of a happy surprise to me. I don't care how they're performing on charts, I don't care if someone thinks they're "lazy" on stage, I still get hyped when I see them perform together as a group. It's kind of freeing to not have big expectations and I just enjoy if I like what they release. If I don't, I just give it a pass. So yeah, 100% for the casual fan life. We still get the music, the fashion, the iconic energy and a lot less stress. submitted by /u/sassyhwa [link] [comments]

3.445. Examples of successful contract renewal negotiations?

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I'm a Midzy and unhappy with how Div 2 and JYPE have been managing Itzy, particularly when it comes to promotions and artistic freedom. As a fan, the contract renewal negotiations are probably my only hope at this point to see some sort of change. I'm not a longtime Kpop fan so the only other group I know is Blackpink who decided to leave YG for their solo contracts and I've been really happy as a Blink with what they've all been able to do since leaving YG. Obviously Itzy are not in the same position as Blackpink. So help me out veteran Kpop fans - did you notice any changes for the better following your group's contract renewals? Different activities, better promotions, more artistic freedom? submitted by /u/ssobsessed [link] [comments]

Wonyoung doesn’t care about men because she doesn’t show it on camera? It’s not like she’s part of an industry in which fans, specially Korean fans, micro-analyze every single action idols take and draw gargantuan conclusions from minute details… Wonyoung who’s literally received hate campaigns for eating a pizza and chewing a strawberry, but you expect her to be feminine around men to prove to you she’s a certain sexuality… Piss off! 🤣 submitted by /u/KyeodeurangiMerchant [link] [comments]

3.448. Fans need to stop like idols don't get bullied

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I see this across all Kpop fandoms. Where supposed fans of the group will bully or harass the members. Fans will send the most heinous messages to idols on platforms like Weverse or will tell idols to kill themselves in their comments. In more extreme cases members are sent graphic rape, physical and death threats. Then when the dust settles and the member either leaves or a new scandal comes up the same fans will act like nothing happened. If you point out the horrible behavior people will try to downplay it, claim it was just a small minority, or that I-fans don't "understand". I see this type of erasure and misinformation with a lot of groups but the three I keep seeing lately are Garam leaving LSF, with Soojin leaving IDLE, and Seunghan leaving RIIZE. In all three of these situations the idols received intense backlash and online and in person bullying for various things. For Garam and Soojin it was murky bullying allegations and with Seunghan it was having a girlfriend predebut. Whether or not you agree with any of them leaving their groups there is no denying especially with Seunghan that they were treated terribly online by supposed fans and received a lot of hate that took it to far in many cases. Lately I have seen a rising trend of acting like the bullying of idols never happened or that it wasn't as bad as people claim especially with Seunghan. I have seen multiple posts/comments on various social media sites saying that Seunghan decided he wanted to be solo or that he and the members didn't get along and that is why he left RIIZE when this is not remotely true. Fans of RIIZE sent him incredibly graphic rape and death threats across multiple social media platforms, they paid to send funeral wreaths and then posted videos of themselves dancing and celebrating in front of them, other members were bullied and told to leave the group for expressing support to Seunghan. All of this happened less than a year and it was disgusting. I am sick of people making up lies and acting like the bullying never happened. If you like RIIZE as six and don't want to talk/think about Seunghan that is fine but don't lie and say he wasn't bullied or that he wasn't threatened. This repeated lying, spreading of misinformation, and downplaying of the severity of the bullying that many idols receive from fans is incredibly concerning and dehumanizing to idols. While the Seunghan situation was an extreme one he is far from the only idol who has been sent horrible threats and comments over relativly minor incidents. This behavior is part of why Kpop fans have such a negative reputation and why there is so much pressure on idols to perfect since they are all one misstep or privacy violation from being told to kill themselves. By refusing to be honest about and call out the bullying and pressure idols face from their own "fans" we are protecting bullies and allowing/encouraging the culture where sending death threats is normalized and seen as part of being an idol. While I definitely think companies are part of the problem and don't do nearly enough to protect their idols from hate and threats. Fans are even more so part of the problem. You don't have to support all idols or agree with their actions but sending death threats especially over K-pop is never okay. Idols are human being who have feelings and see the comments and threats and funeral wreaths that people send. submitted by /u/AfraidInspection2894 [link] [comments]

3.449. The "Which K-pop fandom is the worst" question makes no sense to me

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I'm a multi-stan and have been part of multiple fandoms over the years. And the whole “which fandom is the worst” discussion feels completely pointless. Every single K-pop fandom shares the same toxic traits: They all victimize their idols while villainizing the companies even when the situation isn't clear. All fandoms obsess over charts and views not out of genuine interest, but to weaponize them against other fandoms. They slutshame women, even in girl group fandoms. They dox real people over petty K-pop fights. They have this cult-like mentality where if you criticize anything a member does, even mildly, they’ll turn on you instantly. They’re unkind and dismissive toward multis, as if liking more than one group is a betrayal. They talk about their faves like saints who can do no wrong, and anyone pointing out otherwise is labeled a hater or anti. And I get it. This kind of stan behavior isn't unique to K-pop , it existed in Western pop fandoms too. Obsession, blind loyalty, and fan wars are nothing new. But that just proves my point : no fandom is "worse." They’re all equally bad. submitted by /u/Narrow_Start_5340 [link] [comments]
