I fear I am obsessed with stunner and it is my life track now I was waiting for Ten and Mark’s album, as was every nctzen. Being mark biased I waited for mark like crazy. But then Ten releases Bambola. I realise I have been sleeping on this og-neo. You see I recently accepted nct’s influence on my life so I still am not so accustomed to nct. It was the last day of my high school boards (I live in India). The teaser SM released left a bad taste in my mouth. The whispering gave a completely different vibe. I thought the song would be a sensual whisper filled track. I rushed home and tuned in the steaming live. I was pleasantly surprised. My jaw was wide open. Ten had successfully exceeded my expectations. This song was nothing like I thought but I liked it. From the moment this was released I have this song on repeat. While travelling every single day I listen to this and I cannot get tired of this. The producers and composers cooked hard with this. First of all, Ten has this kind of pre puberty voice but his voice is very “full” and “complete”. It’s as if it’s an adult singing but with a child’s voice. His voice isn’t scratchy or something which is a friction to a song listening experience, it’s very easy to listen to. He has a wide range which his voice supports and complements. He pronounces every word to the very end. This makes the song feel complete. I finally understand why he was the Sub Vocal in SuperM. Secondly the layering of the vocals. Please, every single time I listen to this I hear another vocal run and I’m surprised. All these high pitched sounds DO NOT sound irritating AT ALL (unlike other songs). All the gun and spring and jaltarang (water in glass bowls/mugs struck with some rod) sounds make this such an intelligent song. The raps, the verses, the conclusion everything is PERFECT. I repeat, PERFECT. Nothing can be added or removed to make this better, this is the best version which can be. This song is just perfect. For every song I have at least one pet peeve but NOT THIS ONE. From the start to the end I love this track. Ten must have insane communication prowess. He’s a foreigner and still he is not discriminated against fully? He is so damn talented that SM *has* to give him something. He’s releasing songs in Chinese, Korean, English AND Japanese? And he’s doing well in all of them? His English sounds so natural I did NOT know he did not spend his childhood in America. He’s so hard working in this aspect. Plus he looks good. He’s a visual through and through. His poses just come naturally. He’s a great dancer and his facial expressions are on point. He is a great performer too! And he has cats. This does not need elaborating. I will be over the moon if he starts writing songs too. I do NOT expect him to do so, he’s doing enough but if he does, he will be the best idol ever born in my eyes. ENEMY as a song is more interesting than This is For, as Twice goes for a pop-punk sound we’ve never heard before. The melody opens up the track, bringing in the guitars as Chaeyoung is the first one to sing, hitting us hard. The member’s vocals are excellent as they fit this rock sound perfectly. The chorus hits even harder as the vocals get even stronger, blending wonderfully with the overall vibe. I’ve been having this song on repeat since it dropped, as I can’t get enough of this track. The only other new track on the single is Echoes. Synths open up the track as the sweet vocals come into the mix. The instrumental goes for this smooth synth vibe that moves the tune forward. The hook enters the mix with a thumping vibe that complements the member's vocals. I do like the members' performance as they blend with this synth-pop sound. The synth-piano melody blends wonderfully with the singer’s sweet voice, which has made me return to this tune a couple of times this week. There is a bit of a funky vibe with this track that works perfectly with the singer's performance. The Twice vocals are smooth, working with this uninteresting beat. Saweetie comes in with a decent rap that doesn’t do much for me at all. The overall vibe of this tune doesn’t do anything for me, as I want the track to end after it just started. The hook is pretty dull, as its repetitive nature can get a little annoying. Nothing about this collab makes me excited, as I’m not a Saweetie fan, and the last time I heard her, she ruined an IVE tune. There’s the obvious answers like Miyeon from i-dle, Mina & Sana from Twice and Wonyoung from Ive. But there’s others that don’t get much attention like Handong from Dreamcatcher, I always thought she looks & acts like a princess. Then there’s Doa from We;na, she was such a perfect fit when she dressed up as Ariel, deffo has that pretty princess aura. I would love to hear your input on this!! KCON LA 2025 Choi Jungeun If you haven't heard of her, she's Choi Jungeun of izna, she's one of the main vocals of the group but her dancing is incredible as well and I would say she's their 2nd best dancer. She applied as a main dancer but ended up becoming main vocal in their survival show.
