BEFORE YOU COME FOR ME.. only put the groups i stan in god tier and i really don’t throw the word stan around :p in the “heard of but haven’t listened” i actually do know or like a couple songs from some groups but no more than like 2 songs per group and i don’t know much about them in the not my style tier there’s some songs from all those groups that i do really like BUT overall they aren’t really my style/i haven’t been able to get into more than half of their discography. the exception to this is kiof who i did really love their songs, but i haven’t really listened since the scandal so i didn’t know where else to put them ALSOOO just now realizing that that logo with three s’ must be… triples…. i feel dumb that i couldn’t figure it out when i was sorting bye… anyways i do know them but only a couple songs so id probably put them in the purple tier submitted by /u/starcinna [link] [comments]

101. What do you imagine when idols say they’re giving away personal/cherished items?

  • 18 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I was scrolling on bunjang and this huge banner for a giveaway popped up on the front page, so I clicked to see what it was. Turns out it was idntt, a rookie boy group doing a personal item giveaway. Each member put something up but since they’re all pretty young, most of the choices were little cute things like lip balm, face cream, phone case or a keyring. When I saw the word 'special/cherished item' on the YT video/promo page, my mind immediately went to clothes, hats, plushies or something with more sentimental meaning. So when I opened it up and saw a bunch of olive young skincare, I was like wait, what? At first I honestly thought it might just be sneaky promo for korean cosmetics. But then one of the members had the exact moisturizer I use all the time which actually made it feel kind of genuine. Obviously it’s totally up to the artists what they want to share but it made me wonder. What do you all picture when they say they're giving away an artist’s personal or cherished item? By the way i'm not trying to put down this group here i’m just genuinely curious what other people think. For me I always thought it would be clothes, plushies or something with a bit more meaning behind it. I do like things like keyrings or lucky charms, since those can feel personal and tied to a story. I watched YT video to see why they picked those items as their cherished ones. A couple of them chose skincare products which totally makes sense since they use it every day but it just feels a little different from something with a story or sentimental value behind it. That’s just the way I’ve always unconsciously thought about personal or cherished items. But then it also makes sense. bunjang is used by fans all over the world so maybe the company advised them to stick with small lightweight items. If they started giving away bulky clothes or plushies, international shipping would get crazy. Imagine having to pay $100 just for postage. So I get why they leaned toward smaller things but part of me still wishes they had gone with items that felt a little more unique or personal, something with more of a story behind it. Done right, it could have left an even more special impression to the fans submitted by /u/AgileEngine4771 [link] [comments]

I made a girl group tier list maker. Hopefully it can be helpful to people like myself who don’t usually know group logos. Also, people who listen to inactive, older, and unsuccessful groups. There’s like 150 different groups included, spanning every generation. Also, Kpop-adjacent groups that get discussed in Kpop spaces a lot. I tried to include pretty much anyone I had heard of, but if I somehow missed your fav, feel free to comment and request them. Here’s the link: https://tiermaker.com/create/kpop-girl-groups-2025-17859710-2 Anyways, I made a rainbow. submitted by /u/Yvmeno [link] [comments]

I enjoyed PLAVE’s music—huge respect to the music/AI/UI production teams. But I just saw that they’re starting a world tour, and honestly, I find it kind of weird to pay to watch. Why are people so into watching a screen instead of real performers? Genuinely curious. submitted by /u/GyeonghyeDew [link] [comments]

109. SHINee Key's Lore: A Fabulous Descent into Madness

  • 20 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Not sure if anyone has done this before (probably someone has), but I thought it would be fun to try to come up with an overarching narrative to connect Key's solo Korean MVs, so here's my stab at it. The MVs as listed here are not all in chronological order but rather in the order that best fit the storyline I created. I used both song lyrics and visual details from the MVs to craft this story. I love Key's artistry and how he tells stories through his music and videos, so if this post piques your interest at all, please check out his MVs, listen to his albums, and just appreciate the wonderful artist he is! He also just released his third full album, Hunter, which is amazing. The Beginning Forever Yours: Key has fallen in love, purely and intensely. His whole life has become dedicated to the one he loves, who he promises his heart to forever. We also hear that his love (voiced by Soyou) seems to reciprocate his feelings. The MV is filled with bright colors as Key flies through the sky in his retro car. There is a strong nostalgic feeling emphasized by the retro imagery. Overall, this provides a sense of hopefulness and safety. At the same time, we get some glimpses that all may not be well in Key's relationship. He experiences turbulence and blinding flashes on his drive through space, perhaps indicating some as-of-yet unknown trouble in the relationship. I Wanna Be: Key continues to deepen his relationship as he professes his desire to be everything for the one he loves. His love (portrayed here by Soyeon) has fallen for him just as intensely, so intensely that her dreams for the future and her desires have all changed to center around him. The bright colors from Forever Yours are carried into this MV, which has more futuristic interior design visuals. Instead of focusing on the just the present, Key is dreaming of the vibrant future he will have with his love. One of Those Nights: As foreshadowed in Forever Yours, Key's relationship is no longer going smoothly. It seems his love has broken up with him, but he is unable to let go. He is reaching a breaking point, feeling lost and weak. In the MV, we see flashes of Key's happy memories contrasted with his present loneliness. No longer flying freely through space, he is firmly on earth, at times lost in the forest or trapped in a train car, at the mercy of the sun's heat or rain the drips through his ceiling. He's no longer imagining the beautiful future but is trapped in the present by the reality of his past. Cold: A few months have passed, and Key's heart seems to have hardened. He doesn't want his love back, even as his ex begs him. Was Key actually the one to break things off, or is he simply the one choosing to end it for good as his ex tries to rectify her mistake? During the MV, Key stands stationary, but his eyes track his ex, and his eyes are not emotionless. They hold a resigned sadness, but for what? Perhaps the fact that his ex will think him cold and callous, when he truly still harbors feelings for her but must put himself and his own happiness first. Good & Great: Key attempts to throw himself into his work in an effort to move on from his relationship. The MV shows the monotony of his work life as he struggles to convince himself that he's doing okay and happy to be there. But reminders that he's not okay keep popping up, making it impossible for him to stick to be a normal office worker. Hate That: Key's negative feelings from the end of his relationship have simmered into a loathing of himself and resentment toward his ex. In the MV, we see that he can't bear to exist on earth as long as his ex (portrayed by Taeyeon here) remains there, so he boards a shuttle to space. But even flying as far as he can from her doesn't give him relief from his emotions, because mentally, he's still right there with her. Key can't let go of his love, even as it twists itself into something sinister. Bad Love: Instead of healing with time and space, Key's feelings toward his broken relationship have grown more intense and irrational. He doesn't believe his relationship was just a bit disfunctional; no, to him, it was completely toxic, a bad idea from the start. In the MV, Key's outfits are more glamorous and flamboyant than we have seen previously, indicating how his sense of reality is decreasing. He tries to act the part and do his job like normal, but behind the scenes, he's destroying his dressing room, unable to escape his own mind. Key has let his feelings consume him, and he can't handle it. Killer: As a last attempt to dull the pain of rejection, Key convinces himself that he was the one to ruthlessly kill the relationship. He was the toxic one, his ex the one left begging and broken. The MV's color palette is fairly dark with occasional flashes of harsh brightness, providing a feeling of cold detachment. But from the anguish in Key's voice, it's clear that he isn't anywhere close to being free from the pain. Pleasure Shop: Feeling utterly exhausted and defeated, Key has lost hope in people and the world. The MV shows Key as a cyborg amid scenes of bright artificiality, a world covered in plastic and metal. To Key, everyone is a faker, every interaction is transactional. So he might as well shove down any scrap of emotion and be a faker too. Sure, he'll serve the whims of others, but only if it there's something in it for him. Maybe having people be indebted to him is the only way he can receive love. Gasoline: After living his life transactionally for a while, Key has grown selfish and narcissistic. He thinks of himself as the best of the best, an unbeatable demigod, and everyone else is beneath him. In the MV, his outfits aren't just glamorous, they're gaudy and even inhuman. In the past, he couldn't control his relationship, his emotions, his life, so now he's taking control. Key is the ruler of his own planet, and everyone else is a worshiper just waiting for his command. Hunter: All traces of who Key used to be have vanished. Gone is the Key who was purely in love, the Key who mourned his relationship, the Key who tried any method to relieve his pain. This Key is a twisted psychopath. The MV shows him brutally murdering himself, representing how he has lost his humanity. Now, he chooses to surround himself with those who will blindly follow him regardless of his harsh and bloodthirsty personality. The End . . . for now submitted by /u/Kmadd25 [link] [comments]

112. ITZY's Ryujin isn't treated fairly

  • 20 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I already know a lot of you are gonna disagree with me, But just hear me out first. So, The reason I think this is an unpopular opinion is becuz a lot of people always say that Ryujin is a fan favorite, or gets a lot of attention. But here's why I don't think that's necessarily true: People seem to really ignore Ryujin it treat her unfairly. Like, Back in 2019, She got unnecessary hate for no reason. Saying she didn't work hard, didn't deserve to the the center, bullied her members, etc. But we all know none of that's true (well, I know). And another thing that really gets on my nerves is that people say she can't rap. But she CAN rap. JYPE just needs to give her the proper raps. And I'm not saying her raps are bad, I loved her raps from MAFIA IN THE MORNING, SNEAKERS, Japanese comebacks, etc. But she never gets the chance to show her true rap skills much. And people have the nerve to compare her to Yuna and Yeji (Yeji isn't a rapper). And let's be honest, people only prefer Yuna becuz if her rap from Twenty. And Yeji is given raps all the time, And she's the fan favorite, so people are gonna choose her too. But Ryujin, although she never gets the chance to, can do fast rapping. But it's not just about speed, She has the flow, swag, charisma, And stage presence to do that. She is the main rapper anyway. And people should stop sleeping on her rap skills. And now her vocals, A lot of people say she isn't the best singer. But I don't believe that's true. She can sing, She has a beautiful voice. But her voice is deeper than the average female idol. So some songs that JYPE makes for her aren't gonna be in her vocal range. But she can clearly sing. Take Mr. Vampire, Domino, Imaginary Friend, or even Promise for examples. People always like to hate on her vocal tone, but there is nothing wrong with it, And it doesn't ruin songs. People just wanna find a reason to hate her. And her dancing? Amazing! But again, but like to read that down and say she it looks weak or lazy, when in realty, She isn't being weak or lazy. The chill, laid back, effortless style is her dance style. And she uses a lot of technique. And a lot of this comes from toxic Yeji and Chaeryeong stans. Just becuz they're the main dancers, doesn't mean they're the best. And I'm not saying anyone is better or less. They all are great, but just becuz Ryujin doesn't have the main dancer title, people are gonna hate on her dance skills. Like, She can create choreos, have an aotm performance, And people will still say she's a bad dancer. In the issue with line distribution frustrates me. Like, DALLA DALLA (ITZY's debut btw), And Ryujin has pretty much one line and just does ad-libs? That's just unfair. Debut of not. Debut should be the time to show all the members talents, not just favortise over one member (Yeji). And then when Ryujin gets the least lines, people don't worry about that and focus on the members with the most lines. But when Ryujin gets the most lines (MITM and BTB), People are sad for the members with lesser lines and talk about how their bias deserves the most lines. Like, Ryujin can't win, can she? And then I've checked, And not many people ever give her credit in comebacks, performances, vlogs. People lost focus on the other four (especially Yeji), And more often than not are ignoring Ryujin. Like, the more popular she gets, the more hate she receives. And than the time during 2022-2023 where JYPE wouldn't let her go on variety shows to show her skills. It feels like they wanna hold her back. And then I loved her solo (Run Away), But I wish She was given the chance to show off her rap and dance skills while still using her vocal skills. And then people call her overrated, boring, etc. And some people believe that she doesn't deserve to be an ITZY member. Like, she's just existing, And people hate her. And most fans barely do anything to stand up for her. But if it was another member, people would rage. And then I'mma just mention this: the obsession with her body/thighs in 2020 was creepy, weird, And annoying. Like, whenever I watched her WANNABE fancams, there'd be a bunch of people talking about her body. Like, She was 18, so that's weird. And when she lost weight in 2022, people were saying "she looks so unhealthy" "I blame JYP" or "I prefer her old look" but she literally said it was HER decision, And she wasn't unhealthy. But when Yuna loses weight to an unhealthy extent, people praise her? That just feels like plain bias. And people had th audacity to say that she was overshadowed by her members/other idols, just becuz she lost weight? She was (And still is) gorgeous. People are just objectifying her. Like, there is a lot more to talk about, what I'll just end it here. I don't want her to be treated better than the others, I just want all members to be treated equally. And a lot of people in this subreddit have hated on her in the past back when she debuted or even around specifically 2019-2021. But no one ever talks about how horrible she's been treated by both JYPE and the fandom. And please don't hate me, I'm just trying to spread awareness, And I hope that people who bias her or love her in general, will speak out more. submitted by /u/YejiiBear [link] [comments]

116. Does anyone else remember/ question where the hype for the boy group TARGET went? Whatever happened?

  • 21 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Truthfully I'm not even sure how many people remember TARGET or might even be aware of what I'm talking about, but they at some point at had seven members while two members left (one in 2020, another in 2021), they debuted back in 2018. I am in the process of thinking of deleting Instagram and when viewing some of my older posts I have saved I couldn't help but come across TARGET for the first time in a while. For whatever reason, it made me think about that hype they got and all the love on TikTok but considering they are no longer around I can't help but wonder what happened? or if I am just mis remembering this? I always remember their covers of songs in different genres often being well reviewed and loved by their fans, while songs like 'Beautiful' and 'Baby Come Back Home' being really well received compared to their other views/plays. And if I remember correctly, the intro for 'Awake' was heavily inspired by A.C.E and was brought up at the time, many being fans of A.C.E showing support for the group for this reason. TARGET's last official post on their Instagram would be in 2021, while the members would go on their separate paths; G.I is now a member of the group Epic Travels, Boun (Jonghak) releases covers making his own music and more, Woojin is a tour guide ambassador for a protein company and a studio also looks like he got married/ in a relationship, Roi (YoungWoong) is still doing covers and appears to be a boss/manager of a bar, Hyun is also in a relationship and posts really cute photos together + is a frequent visitor at museums/art galleries while it appears that Zeth has recently completed military services and is with Pixel Lab Japan. submitted by /u/Responsible-Box2876 [link] [comments]
