I know this might sound like a dumb question but I have noticed some popular groups with music I think is really bad and it makes me wonder how they still have fans. Personally I just can’t get into a group if I don’t like their songs but maybe that’s just me. I tried with KATSEYE during their debut era but the music completely turned me off. submitted by /u/Yveslovescats [link] [comments]
Like I am not saying they are real but if they really turn out to be I would be like not surprised at all cuz of all ships theirs make sense a lot submitted by /u/DiMpLe_dolL003 [link] [comments]
I guess people love when something is unconventional and fresh. The recent successful if All Day Project proves the same. A lot of people tuned in because coed groups are not a common occurence in kpop.Although Kard existed and had their fair share of fame internationaly, did not enjoy the same level of success in korea, coz the kpop landscape is still controlled by biggies with resouses and connections. Same goes for New jeans and Aespa people loved their songs bcoz they were so fresh and their concepts were so unique. Also, let's not forget katseye, although they are the second global group ...but global groups are still a new thing, and they are more noticed this year bcoz of their unconventional song Gnarly!! (which was so bad that ppl started loving it at the end 😂).Vcha had potential but unfortunaly they could not make it big bcoz of mismanagement. XG another uncommon group is also making waves, certainly not on the level of any group from a big companies, but they are still doing great. What I observed people love when something fresh and new thing is served. So, big companies with lot of resourses and connections should try something new and different with every group instead of following the footprints of an old group that is already successful. submitted by /u/Beneficial-Candy3772 [link] [comments]
Spotted on many sites a video showing Sana on the stage hitting other TWICE members with a giant lightstick, I would be interested in knowing what is it about for a fan to be hit also? And would you like to be hit by her? submitted by /u/Asleep-Bonus-8597 [link] [comments]
Stray Kids DominATE tour is going to end soon - it has its up and down but generally it seems to be a successful tour. We have Stade de France (2 dates) and 1 Rome date left and SKZ is coming back with their 4th album Karma (so excited!) soon. We know a Korean encore date is a definite plan - they announced it on their 2025 plan late last year. Lets play the speculation game. Where would they do their Korean encore date? - Goyang (we can only hope but SKZ strength is definitely not their Korean market)? KSPO dome (they did 4 dates for DominATE)? Some surprise location? When will they announce this Korean encore concert - at the last stop Rome? During their comeback? Will there be a non-Korean encore? - Last Maniac tour they closed the tour with LA BMO but their current tour is definitely much larger than their Maniac tour, will they re-do any of the stadiums they do at this DominATE tour? Will they do another stadium? Will they repeat DC stadium after that disastrous one? Is MetLife a dream? We have seen that kpop tour is not selling out as crazy as post-COVID time as evidenced as ticket sales recently. Will SKZ/JYPE take a risk of having more than one encore date? Will there be more? And another interesting point - will SKZ skip touring in 2026 and go back to their festival route like in 2023? I am waiting for the final tally for SKZ DominATE tour once it ends - to see if they get to reach their estimated target. submitted by /u/Many-Ad-9007 [link] [comments]
If you’re into soft, reflective K-indie with lo-fi textures and emotional songwriting, let me introduce you to HYUIL (휴일) ,a quiet but powerful voice in the Korean indie scene. HYUIL creates music that feels like a rainy afternoon ,calm, intimate, and a little melancholic in the best way. His songs are perfect if you enjoy minimalist production and lyrics that linger with you. ✨ Why You Should Check Him Out: • His track “Seiren” (세이렌) is hauntingly beautiful and poetic ,a personal favorite. • His vocals are gentle but raw, with lyrics that feel deeply human. • His style blends lo-fi, dream-pop, and acoustic elements for a truly introspective vibe. 🎶 Where to Start: • Seiren (세이렌) - Dreamy and haunting • Only You (너만이) - Nostalgic and heartfelt • My Hometown - Melodic and soft, full of longing • RUN BOYS RUN - A shift into upbeat energy with indie pop touches HYUIL is still relatively unknown internationally, so if you’re someone who loves supporting underappreciated artists, this is your sign. You can find him under dayoffholic on streaming platforms like SoundCloud and Spotify. 💙 🔗 Links (to help you start listening): • Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/4qgXpFkcDJUiCpsfzFsWyj?si=E_0Q0J5wRVqKe_29dClDgQ • SoundCloud: https://on.soundcloud.com/UlqDEFiN6yCoOs6Dqq • Instagram: hyuil.dayoffholic If you check him out, I’d love to hear your thoughts! 💬 Let’s keep shining light on hidden gems like HYUIL 💎 submitted by /u/Positive_Glass_442 [link] [comments]
This questions is basic, sorry for that. But I am curious about underrated songs, specifically from more unknown groups. Like b-sides, or very old songs that many fans may haven’t heard about. Y’all can drop underrated songs from famous groups like Enhypen, Ateez, IVE etc., but I would like to be introduced to smaller groups and am willing to listen to their hidden gems. My example: Feel Me by Golden Child. I know they are not an underground group, but still I don’t know anyone who actively listens to them. submitted by /u/30bonbon [link] [comments]

Pic (&team Harua 20 y.o) I don't put him in a stereotypical box, I respect him... but he is also just naturally very cute and childlike. 😂 I feel like people say "don't baby idols" all the time when it's not that serious, people can be cute at all ages. Leo became "hybe biggest loss" after leaving, but the same people who's said that probably would have bullied him for that misogynistic lyrics if he was still in hybe. Also, i remember back then the amount of hates that they received for nothing was huge even before Leo rap scandal broke out, i can understand why hybe had to cancel the project and disbanded the group. People only seems to love them Now because the members are not under hybe anymore submitted by /u/Icy-Bass724 [link] [comments]

hi guys!! I don't really post but there has been a topic that I've been thinking about for years and now with the release of Boys II Planet I feel like it is pretty relevant (especially since i've been seeing people say its rigged through producer influence rather than voting), but I've always been confused about how in Produce X 101 (2019) Kim Minkyu didn't get the X position at least. I watched the show all the way back in 2019 when it aired and Lee Eunsang was my one-pick and so I was really happy when he got the X position. But I was not optimistic at the time for Eunsang's odds because he was against Kim Minkyu for the final 'X' position because Minkyu ranked 1st in the first episode and top 3 for the first half, and 5th going into the finale. However, Minkyu didn't end up debuting and it was revealed later that he wasn't even rigged out? and I have no idea how? As it is pretty well known, it was found that Mnet tampered with the votes and rigged basically every Produce series and Mnet's other survival series' were also investigated, with Produce 48 and Produce X 101 being the most tampered with and most obvious. This caused the groups i*zone and fromis_9 to go on a little hiatus and for X1 to disband. The court ended up releasing the names of the trainees who were unjustly eliminated during the series with the trainees being barred from the debut group being Koo Jung-mo, Lee Jinhyuk, and Keum Donghyun and they were supposed to rank 6th to 8th. The whole 'gimmick' of the Produce X 101 season of the show was that there was an 'X' member in the final group where the trainee with the highest cumulative votes (of the remaining trainees) would become the final member in the group. Obviously, how it ended up in X1 is that Lee Eunsang got the position which made reasonable sense when I watched it at the time because he ranked decently high at the beginning. However, the final position was between him and Kim Minkyu which has always confused me because for most of the series Minkyu ranked higher than Eunsang. Even going into the final Minkyu was ~100k votes ahead. But if he was rigged out of the X position Minkyu's name would have been in the court documents along with Jung-mo, Jinhyuk, and Keum. Going into the final only Kim Yohan, Kim Wooseok, and Song Hyeongjun had more cumulative votes than Minkyu. I would assume that Kim Yohan and Kim Wooseok were basically secured for a 1-2 and I think I remember Song Hyeongjun had a strong one-pick preference so I think he would have got a position in the group. Only Nam Dohyon and Lee Eunsang would have had enough cumulative votes to get the X rank if their votes exceeded Minkyu's by about 100k, and that's assuming that they didn't have a strong enough one-pick to get into the group just from the most recent voting (got the numbers from Wikipedia). So maybe Lee Eunsang's X position was legit? (like he would have got the position if the votes were not rigged). I remember this season did not have international voting and I wasn't really aware of the opinions of the K-netizens while watching so I don't really know who people really liked outside of the 'official' voting. Maybe Minkyu didn't have a strong one-pick? If you have any insight that would be great, or if you read anywhere that he was actually rigged out let me know! Thanks for reading and I'm sorry if I gave you and Pdx101 or X1 flashbacks!! submitted by /u/sky_fairy015 [link] [comments]
