I was looking at the comments of a post in another subreddit that had the photo of Pope Francis and Boa, and while it wasn't new for me as I had already seen it, it got me thinking, what are the craziest photos of idols out there?, either by collaboration or moment. I can at least think of 2 photos I still think are crazy. The aforementioned Boa and Pope Francis photo and the photo of Johnny, Giselle and Gordon Ramsey. Which photos of Kpop idols you still think are crazy? submitted by /u/Ch_ch_chewing_gum [link] [comments]
Maybe you slept on it and found it was fire after relistening, or you heard it and were just like “where has this been my whole life???” Songs that made me feel this way: SHINee’s I Want You (found late) Mamamoo’s I Miss You (found late) Monsta X’s Dramarama (slept on) SM the Ballad’s Hot Times (found late) Victon’s Mayday (slept on) …and a ton of Infinite songs, like Destiny, New Emotions, Back, Bad (found late 😔) submitted by /u/Lilac-Soul [link] [comments]
i saw a video recently of a person complaining that the audience in a le sserafim concert they attended was mostly male. i looked through the comments and many people were complaining that the stops they attended were male-dominated too. but isnt it expected that girl groups like le sserafim would have mostly male fans? submitted by /u/LiveRegular2924 [link] [comments]
I read that they will set up their office in Mumbai, India. I'm skeptical because there have been attempts to make a K-popesque girl group, it fizzled out, but none that had the money and resources HYBE did. Society is very conservative, but I do believe there is a market for it. India is too vast. Go a 100km and they'd speak an entirely different language. Besides Bollywood and arguably Tollywood there is no one big famous industry. The age of celebrity is over once social media broke out. Idols will be more influencer coded, but even then they'd hardly last for a year or two. Their concerts will be like the trendy new cafe everyone visits to get pictures and then drops. There's no idol culture as such. The Disney or Nick model has potential, imo. Introduce them as child stars, graduate them into pop stars and then into acting, like Zendaya or Ariana. But that was already done by Disney, with Tara Sutaria. She had a strong debut launched by one of the most popular bollywood directors but unfortunately can't compete with nepo kids like Jhanvi, Ananya or a fresh wave of non nepo kids like Aneet. I'm doubtful about the success of girl groups, but boy groups definitely have a market. I will recieve lashings for this, but most industries are filled with aging larger than life heros romancing debutants half their age. Men in their 50s are the only ones with pull and a dedicated fanbase. Hybe and their army of pretty boys could definitely fill this vaccum. submitted by /u/Wooyoungsmole [link] [comments]
I'm a TWICE stan through and through, and besides BTS, there hasn't been many boy groups that I actually stanned, though I listen to a lot of various ones I became a kpop fan around 2017-2018 thanks to BTS, and ever since I discovered TWICE, I stuck with them and a few other girl groups. Now I had heard of SVT quite a few times and I knew a lot of onces were also carats and vice versa, but I never paid much attention to them Fast forward to literally just 5 months ago when Sana interviewed Hoshi and Woozi and I was like huh these guys are pretty funny and seem interesting. Wonder what they got going on. Then my tiktok algorithm did freaky magic and put a funny snippet of them playing some water game from Going SVT and I realized..these guys are straight up hilarious. I didn't even know everyone's names, and the beauty was that i didnt even have to. just watching them mess around was so entertaining and heart warming that I looked for the full episode on youtube and watched it and left wanting more The member I immediately latched onto? It all happened because I got the most ethereal edit of Scoups on my timeline. Yall. this edit changed my life. Which is also funny because I seem to have a type for group leaders. Namjoon and Jihyo are literally my biases😭 what's one more? Also, I looked at some of their performances to see if any of their music is my taste and my god these guys perform like they're HUNGRYYYY. Their stage presence is off the charts Anywho, I haven't gotten too deep into their discography yet, but I'm already loving them so much. I truly envy those who found them sooner though becauase now theyre gonna do military service😭 submitted by /u/chocolate_granolabar [link] [comments]

KPDH’s Billboard #1 isn’t just another music milestone—it’s the moment three decades of Hallyu reached their summit. From Winter Sonata melting hearts across Asia, to BTS filling stadiums, to Squid Game dominating Netflix, Korean culture has been slowly building a global foundation. Now, KPDH stands as the symbol of this long journey, proving that K-Pop was never just music—it was the doorway into K-Food, K-Beauty, K-Drama, and more. This is the moment where the Korean Wave becomes the ocean, and KPDH’s anthem is its thunder. The three part article shed the light how the Hallyu broke into the mainstream.
