So I’m half Vietnamese and I often get complimented (especially when being with other kpop fans) as „Korean“. „You look Korean“ is such a weird compliment and I’m asking all of you to stop using it (if you do). Because what do you mean, „they look Korean“? Do you mean they look like a Kpop idol? Do you think all Koreans look like idols or actors? Do you think all Koreans look perfect? It’s just so weird and generalising and plays being Korean down as just being pretty. So again, if you compliment people by saying they look Korean, don’t. Just say they’re pretty or something, but saying someone looks Korean is just weird. submitted by /u/DaGayEnby [link] [comments]
It's been six years since her debut... and it's been in The Black Label basement for almost a year (if not longer). And now with the AllDay Project right there in the corner... (I don't hate AllDay, just the person who manages the groups) Ice Cream wasn't even a good comeback... Somi is so talented, and no one is giving her support at that company... it makes me very sad, because with Dumb Dumb and XOXO she showed that she had the potential to be a very recognized soloist.... submitted by /u/_issio [link] [comments]
Essentially, what do you think were certain songs, debuts, events and scandals in K-Pop that would unwittingly change the trajectory of K-pop and how it is today. Feel free to drop an explanation too! For me my picks are (in no particular order): Burning Sun SNSD's Into the New World BTS's debut Sulli's early death JYJ & EXO's members suing SM NewJean's debut Boa's success in Japan T-Ara scandal BlackPink's debut There are likely many, many more but I'll stop here. Intrigued to see your picks :) Let's all be kind! submitted by /u/angie_kiprevski [link] [comments]
I do like it. Im surprised it wasnt a Teddy-esque empty chorus and just AAVE thrown out everywhere - I might have judged a little too early. Although knowing its YG-adjacent abd Teddy is involved I am still not convinced they will stay away from it forever submitted by /u/thebarted [link] [comments]
I wrote this song for all those exchange students & expat workers in Seoul. You are not alone. submitted by /u/snuffdog_reddit [link] [comments]
Lily from NMIXX is no doubt one of the best vocalists from the 4th gen but for some reason I just can't seem to like her vocals compared to sullyoon who's technically worse than lily in vocals. Same with other groups like TXT where taehyun is the best vocalist in his group (i think?) but I can't seem to like his vocals and prefer soobin's a lot more. Is it weird to not like their vocals despite them being good vocalists and prefer the vocals of technically worse vocalists? submitted by /u/tytyty3435 [link] [comments]
Is he controversial? What are your thoughts on him? When I got into Kpop during the pandemic I saw a video or two talking about how problematic JYP is, and today also saw an old reddit post (about 5 years ago) from Kpophelp talking about JYP submitted by /u/Musicloverlord39 [link] [comments]
Thought the lyrics of both songs sounded very similar thematically, so I made a mashup and tried to make it sound like they're singing to each other at times. Hope you all enjoy :) submitted by /u/Academic_Amoeba_974 [link] [comments]
the title track "Borrowed Cat (Do the Dance)" is such a slay?? french house vibes + that addictive "I turn into a rent-a-cat" & "Do the dance, ah oui" parts got me in a chokehold ngl 🐱✨ the choreo is EVERYTHING What makes Bomb so special? – it’s a bold step forward, showing off their growth and daring charm. They’re all about “being definite about the vague” and vibin’ with your heart, which is such a mood. Here’s my quick take on each track + the MV for “Borrowed Cat” – lemme know your faves in the comments! 👇 track by track thoughts: Borrowed Cat - this beat switch??? hello?? The way it starts dreamy and then hits you with that fast beat?... Genius Little Monster - the vocals are giving everything they're supposed to give periodt Jellyous - the wordplay in the title already got me, but the song?? BOP. Oops! - certified banger, catch me replaying this 24/7 Night Picnic - perfect closing track, the vibes are immaculate also can we talk about that "do the dance" mv?? the production value, the fits, the VISUALS... they really said "we're not playing this time" stream bomb besties 🚀 submitted by /u/SectionReasonable304 [link] [comments]

I've passionately made a mobile app for fellow BTS & Blackpink fans! It's in early stages, and I'd be super grateful for your feedback before it launches. Purpose of the test, You can talk to idols using ai. In order to publish my app on Google Play Store, 12 people need to test my app. Just open and close it once a day for 14 days, unless I can't publish my app 🥹 🥹 Want to be a tester, share your thoughts, and help catch bugs? Please ask me! I'll share all details in my post. https://www.reddit.com/r//kpoptestapp Thanks so much for your time & any help! Fighting! ✨ submitted by /u/kopersn [link] [comments]

Idk if my grammar is right. I became an army since 2015. I grew up with BTS, whenever I see them, they made me feel so in-depth with myself. I feel happy getting old, re-learning myself and how I've changed over the course of 10 years. I was in 9th grade when I became their fan and now I'm a functioning adult. I will always be grateful for their music and the love they've shared with me. I became someone so full of love. It's so nice that I was able to stay and I've waited for them. I wish, the love we have for the groups that we stan will always remain and we won't outgrow this phase of our life. submitted by /u/No-Basil-7673 [link] [comments]
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzY1YCdVrjg Amazing vocals, great instruments and beautiful staging. Their new song, Everlasting, is pretty great well. All the best to them! submitted by /u/carlq [link] [comments]
So ever since the announcement of the Black Labels newest mixed-gender groups, almost all the videos I’ve seen about them calls them a co-ed group. And this doesn’t just apply to them, other groups such as KARD (probably the most popular mixed gender group) are also labelled as co-ed. However, co-ed is short for co-education, as in a school where male and female students are taught together. submitted by /u/Medical_Comparison42 [link] [comments]
I’ve seen idols mention that certain choreographies are difficult, or that songs by other artists can be tough to sing or cover. And of course, lots of idols are given songs beyond their vocal range. I'm sure it's probably happened, but have any debuted idols admitted that any of their own songs are too hard for them to sing? And if so, which songs? submitted by /u/AAALLY- [link] [comments]
Park Hyung-sik is just handsome as hell, Just think 15 years ago he was and still is a member of ZE: A, He just famous then ever and he did act in The music video for Date by Jewelry, He probably was born with a silver spoon in his mouth as his father is Board of director for BMW Korea and his mom is a piano teacher also he had a few agency offers in The past, I think if wasn't a idol and a actor, I probably would've see him as a business owner. submitted by /u/Flowerofthesouth88 [link] [comments]
I respect people’s opinions, just wanna throw it out there. If you don’t like the song, then that’s completely fine! What’s so hypocritical to me though is that the same people who praise ‘old’ ‘real’ kpop sound and that bubbly concept from 3rd gen summer songs are hating on this preview. All I’ve seen is hate comments on their tiktoks. This to me sounds sooooo kpopy to me, finally something thats not too heavily influenced by only western music. Now I know that this is a very different sound from their debut. But for me personally, I love that a big group is finally bringing us back to this feel, not just ‘nugus’. How did yall feel about the preview? submitted by /u/IndividualExpress78 [link] [comments]
