1) Comment only 1 girl per country along with a picture. 2) They DO NOT have to be from a K-Pop group specifically, but they do have to be from a girl group! 3) Bi-racial idols are allowed, however, if they win for one category, they are ineligible for another. 4) Votes will be calculated after 24 hours. For the rest round, we’re looking for a representative for an Asian country NOT already listed in the graph above! Minnie from i-dle is our Thai representative! South Korea: Jihyo (TWICE) The Philippines: Sophia (KATSEYE) Mainland China: Yuqi (i-dle) Thailand: Minnie (i-dle) Once we complete this chart, we’ll do the same with a boy group! submitted by /u/sailormusic [link] [comments]

Every time the topic of plastic surgery in K-pop comes up, it turns into the same cycle: someone points out that an idol looks different from their pre-debut days, and immediately people rush to shut it down. “It’s just makeup!” “It’s puberty!” “They lost weight!” Sure, those things can change how someone looks, but let’s be real, they don’t completely change the shape of someone’s nose or jawline, for example. Makeup is powerful, and puberty can definitely glow someone up, but there’s a limit. Eyeliner can make your eyes look bigger, contouring can make your nose look slimmer, and weight loss can sharpen your jawline. But none of that explains a brand-new nose bridge or a jaw that looks surgically reshaped. And it’s not just K-pop. Western celebrities get procedures done all the time. Nose jobs, fillers, botox, you name it. Fans might joke about it or speculate, but it’s not treated like some huge insult. In K-pop, though, even hinting at it can get you labeled as disrespectful or a “hater.” It’s like people want to hold onto the fantasy that every idol is 100% natural. But here’s the reality: Korea is one of the plastic surgery capitals of the world. Looks matter a lot there, not just in entertainment, but in everyday life. People literally get procedures done right after high school because they know appearance can give them an edge in college admissions, job interviews, and even dating. When competition is that intense, surgery is just another tool to stay ahead. Now put that in the context of the idol industry, where visuals are part of the package. Companies know that “looking the part” sells. That’s why so many idols already look different in their pre-debut photos, because a lot of them had procedures done before they even had a chance to debut. It makes them more likely to stand out and get picked. So when fans say “It’s just puberty” as a blanket explanation, it’s kind of missing the point. Sure, natural changes happen, but they don’t completely overhaul someone’s face. What we’re seeing with idols is usually a mix of things: makeup, styling, diet, AND surgery. Denying that just creates this fake standard of “effortless beauty” that’s impossible to live up to, for idols and for fans. At the end of the day, plastic surgery isn’t some horrible secret. It’s a choice, and in industries where looks matter, it’s almost expected. The problem isn’t that idols do it: it’s that fans either shame them for it or act like it could never happen. Both reactions just add more pressure to an already intense environment. submitted by /u/Odd-Cat02 [link] [comments]

Rules: - keep it lighthearted please - no serious submissions! Ex: Kim Seungmin for Main Vocalist - you may submit multiple people but make multiple comments for them - disbanded idols and survival show contestants count - all generations and all genders - ai/digital idols count - people who have collabed with Kpop groups can be submitted (ex: Terry Crews because he did a collab with le sserafim once) - an idol can win multiple spots, there’ll just be a clone of them - most upvotes comment wins - roughly every 24 hours there will be a new vote - if there are multiple comments for one idol, the highest will be counted Winners of day 5: Min Heejin Gwima the Great Oli London Now let the chaos continue, who’s our visual and fotg, the one who will be praised for their photoshoots, who will be the Center? submitted by /u/DaGayEnby [link] [comments]

So there are some rumours that pledis is preparing a new girlgroup and the line up is almost 100% fix but still don't know when they gonna debut, could be next year or 2027. So this will be their first girlgroup since hybe aquisation, i don't count fromis_9 because they already a group before hybe was even a thing. So what are your predictions on this group? Do you guys think they will get better treatment and Promotions than pledis previous girlgroups before hybe or it's still gonna be the same and pledis bad history with girlgroups will repeat again? submitted by /u/Party-Confection417 [link] [comments]

With groups dropping teasers every other day, I keep forgetting dates and end up scrambling on release day. Like, I almost missed that one Ateez drop cause work buried me. Anyone got a simple way to stay on top, maybe an app or site that pings you? I tried KpopSync and it lists everything by group with quick quizzes thrown in, but is it reliable for real-time stuff? submitted by /u/Relevant_Wishbone [link] [comments]
to the person/people involved in picking thumbnails for Junhee, please know that you're doing a phenomenal job and are deeply appreciated💐🌟 every thumbnail has been chosen so well🤌 there's always an element that makes it eye-catching and memorable. it could be: - the colours (saturation, combos, contrast, etc.) - the subject (pose and/or expressions) - the use of lights and shadows - lines and framing also, Kang PD: you dropped this 👑 big thankyou to Junhee, Kang PD, and countless hardworking people in their team who have been working so hard to give us quality content, especially in the visual/cinematography department submitted by /u/fried_chicken03 [link] [comments]
and I am just soooooo excited!! You can find the tracklist here. NMIXX is one of those groups that has an incredibly strong discography. I have really loved their releases and I think that their Fe304 trilogy is easily one of the best album runs in all of kpop. Their music is interesting, fresh, and groundbreaking. In my opinion, have redefined music in kpop and I’m so glad they decided to stick with their concept through the debut hate. This album looks super interesting! It feels like a natural continuation of the identity they’ve been building with the Fe304 trilogy. Some things of note for this tracklist: Lily and Haewon are credited for this album! It’s super cool when idols participate in their own music, gives it a more authentic feel, and I’m excited to see what kind of creatives they are within this release! O.O Balia and Superhero versions are finally being added to streaming! Both versions gained attention when NMIXX performed them as separate songs in concert, rather than the combined “mixxpop” song we know from debut. I’m personally really excited for the Superhero version! 10 new songs! Full albums in kpop are so hit or miss with them actually feeling like full albums and not EPs with the album label slapped on. The only recent groups that I can think of who actually had a full album is Stayc with “Metamorphic” (horrendously underrated album btw) and Twice’s “This Is For.” After how phenomenal each of the Fe304 EPs were as entire bodies of work, I’m really excited to see what storytelling NMIXX can do with an full album! NMIXX’s “Blue Valentine” comes out on October 13th at 6pm KST! You can pre-save it on Spotify here! submitted by /u/hiekachu [link] [comments]

Wendy is my Red Velvet bias and I love her three minis so far with Like Water being my favorite because I love how ballad and midtempo focus it is which is perfect for her voice, so what is the consensus on her first three minis so far? Like Water Wish You Hell Cerulean Verge How would you rank them favorite to least favorite? What are your favorite bsides? And how do you rank the title tracks? submitted by /u/jdpm1991 [link] [comments]
