https://m.entertain.naver.com/home/article/445/0000323841 This is genuinely insane. LYW is actually only releasing his next full length album on streaming, with no physical CD release. He's only releasing a photobook or something but it won't count towards charts or music show metrics. Apparently he's doing this in response to the environmental issues caused by the kpop industry and the rampant plastic waste, and also to limit financial burden and pressure on fans to buy a million albums. This will genuinely cost this man hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars. Really admirable to see an artist try to address this issue, even at great personal cost. submitted by /u/akhoe [link] [comments]

I want to see something here and I imagine some people will get triggered so if you get offended easily by criticism towards your favorites...maybe this isn't the discussion for you. I want this discussion to be as open and honest as possible without hatefulness or judgement. Does anyone here have criticism of THEIR own favorite idols or groups? I'm talking about things they may or may not have said that didn't seem right with you for whatever reason or something they did that you think was in poor taste. A decision they (or the company) made that you disagree with? A situation they should have stayed out of but didn't? Or a vice versa a situation they did stay out of that you felt like they shouldn't have? I'm not talking to ragebaiters or toxic and/or delusional solos/shippers and this isn't about fanwars. submitted by /u/ThenCryptographer477 [link] [comments]
i want to make this playlist full of songs that has a similar vibe (?) or sound to black swan bts and xo enhypen, specifically the xo instrumental and the black swan x fake love remix (although i do love the two original songs) but i don't know songs that sound similar. looking for bg since i have some for gg already submitted by /u/ItsMe_Chloee [link] [comments]
This obviously doesn't go for every version as there are still regular photobook versions for most releases but more and more grps come out with albums that have neither photobooks nor cds. And the thing is,those versions are usually really creative and unique so it's a double edged sword. On one hand,as a collector I love creative and never before seen kpop albums but I can't lie I often don't like that they don't include cds and photobooks While I love kpop albums being creative and always will,I think the heart of the album is still the cd and photobook. What do you think? Do you prefer creative versions or more typical versions? submitted by /u/Alive-Pitch-9180 [link] [comments]
I love kpop. I live in Zimbabwe. Most idols know nothing about my country. They don't even consider Africa as a touring destination. You can't ship merch to Africa. We don't have kpop shops that sells albums. I can only stream to help my favourite artist thrive which is not much. I really wanna see them too someday. submitted by /u/NaiveDepartment1113 [link] [comments]
Hey! Just wondering if there are any Vietnamese K-pop fans here into random play dance? I recently found this dance app where people upload short clips of themselves doing K-pop choreo and apparently thereβs a small online tournament going on right now. Pretty chill β just a bracket style event with scores based on your performance in the app. The app is called "STEPIN" No need to be a pro dancer or anything. I joined for fun and thought maybe some folks here would be into it too. Let me know if anyone else is in! Would be fun to see more local folks on the leaderboard! submitted by /u/Greedy_G1024 [link] [comments]

I don't know why but I have noticed something really weird. Like whenever a group blows up a lot and gets super popular they either suddenly lose most of their fans because of a song (Itzy) or gets in a huge controversy (Kiss of life) or companies just stop promoting the group properly when they have a really big fan base (Kep1er and Everglow during their debut, kard) or something else happens. Am I just crazy or am I right? (I genuinely need to know so please tell me) submitted by /u/straykifsontop [link] [comments]
I don't know where to put this, I don't even want it on my main. I don't hate Ateez, they've been my ult group for five years now. I didn't hesitate to get tickets and I saw them a few days ago. Of course the members are great performers as they always are... hell will freeze over when they're not. They put on a good show and I had fun, their energy with a live band is electrifying, yadda yadda go look up any video and you'll know they're good at their jobs. But despite having a great time in the moment, I feel like this might be the confirmation that this is the end of my time as a hardcore Atiny and I'm conflicted about it. Towards the Light, their previous tour, was a massive and theatrical production. Grand with elaborate staging, an entire story arc with a full act structure, complete with "live VCR" acting. It was an incredible, unforgettable experience. Their In Your Fantasy tour is fun but comparatively disjointed and minimal with a few exceptions. Their storytelling is part of what made them so interesting, and it feels less present here than it was in even their pre-TTL tours. Similarly... the The World era was ambitious. Outlaw alone had a unique concept with interesting implied character dynamics (Bouncy WooSan!!!), batshit unique guerrilla promotions, individual trailers for each song on the album, an in-universe trailer for the album, and an extended opening. The World was a wild, fun time in every way. Golden Hour immediately massively downscaled and has yet to have anything even close to The World's scale, or even Fever, or Treasure... Both times I thought "how can they top this?" and the answer was "they won't even try". They got their acclaim and pivoted. They say they're not chasing mainstream appeal. It's just funny that the sudden switch to the same bridgeless, short, straightforward pop that every other group is making just so happens to coincide directly with Ateez blowing up, more brand deals and big-name connections, KQ planning to go public, cheaping out on album quality, scaling back promotions, announcing another tour a week after the last one ended and slashing the production value while jacking up ticket prices... almost like now that Ateez is secure, KQ knows they don't have to put in the same amount of effort. People will open up their wallets anyways. I know they're capable of so much more and that's what drives me crazy. Ateez is incredibly skilled! Xikers is proof that KQ's creatives didn't all just suddenly totally burn out or something. They've had interesting promotions (Watch Out's YouTube maze horror adventure game that led you to a website with a bunch of activities), random lore drops, an interesting supernatural concept, crazy choreo, and B-sides like You Hide We Seek that scratch the itch... Eden-ary is still a good production team! People try to say it's because of the lore and it's not, or at least not entirely (Fever was more about normal, mundane life too and it wasn't like this). The loretiny spaces I'm in, full of the most passionate fans you can come by, have been slowly dying off. It's fucking depressing when what used to be hours of passionate discussion turns into a few dry acknowledgements then radio silence. Even people who like Golden Hour are trying to convince themselves that this somehow is all temporary... it's transitional or it's all because something went wrong behind the scenes three albums and a tour in a row and we just have to wait for the next series. The more they talk about it and hammer in their "new direction" the more I'm convinced it's not just one series. The final nail in the coffin for me was when they said they were closing their chapter one and entering their chapter two. It's embarrassing to admit but I almost feel betrayed? I've watched this happen so many times before and wasn't hurt, just disappointed. It feels different this time. Ateez was the group that I genuinely thought would stay true to what made them unique no matter how many times they reinvented themselves.. I was always excited to see them trying new things even when I didn't like it. I knew I might drift away from them one day and that was okay, but I never thought this would be the reason why. Now I feel like I spent years believing in a vision that never actually mattered. I know it's a K-pop group and not the end of the world. Capitalism happens. I'll get over it. I'm just sad and need to get it off my chest. :( submitted by /u/pelagicpetrel [link] [comments]

Maybe I'm 3 yrs late but hear me out, this would be long but idc, read if u like or skip it's your choice anyway. I'm honestly a fan of GFriend and I love them so much but after their fyi termination of contract from the sht comp i loose my passion listening to songs bcs i dnt find reason to, my fav gg was not making music anymore the very reason I'm in. Although have known that Eunha, Sinb and Umji had signed a new contract for new agency and made their new group i just cant seem to get into it bcs I'm probably lost, i ddnt follow them around like i used to to in gfriend I was that heartbroken. Not that i dnt support them or dislike the idea of them re-debuting , but listening to Ksongs again is hard and devastating for me that i came to the point I have to skip every post related to them :( But this time around, my first ever comeback La la love me hit me hard. Like i started to think what i have been doing, why I'm so lost still yet my girls are doing just fine. They have grown so much and their level of confidence shooked me .I saw a dif part of them that I don't see when they are in gf. These girls again proved how good they are even after the mess. They built and introduced their name once again to the industry and made a PAK. I've seen a lot of hates about them joining the show Q2, bcs they insisted that they're lacking bcs they were just 3 of them they lost their main vocal etc., and that they won't do well as a group joining the 4th gen. Well look what they made you do. They just made the whole knetz shake and popped their μλ©μ΄ (butt) and it's gone viral. They don't follow the trends to gain attention, but the trend follows them. ksht will say they are flop bcs MV views doesn't do much. MV views doesn't matter for me, that's not how u appreciate the song. Viviz doesn't do or follow cute and girly and sexy trends like what we are seeing in kpop now, bcs they do it in a very unique style you wouldn't even notice. Everyone is entitled in their own opinion ofc but you can't deny the fact that VIVIZ Is really doing well making their own signature/trademark in the K industry. WHO WOULD'VE THOUGHT THAT EVEN AFTER THEY DID THEM DIRTY THEY STILL CHOSE TO CONTINUE AND CONTRIBUTE BEAUTY MUSIC TALENT IN KPOP WORLD. well shame on ppl who belittle and hurt them, spread rumors that they dont like each other to begin that's why they ddnt renew contract to continue as Gfriend. EUNHA SINB AND UMJI PROVED Y'ALL WRONG π Oh if someone try to ask what abt the others, well their just doing fine making their own name too,if curious enough, go ahead, dive in and follow their activities you're very much welcome to be part of the family. submitted by /u/tatte_z [link] [comments]

does anyone know anything about the new yuehua trainees? There was a rumor that 3-4 new trainees would join the zb1 members for the new yuehua bg in 2026 and one trainee already signed the contract. I know that yuehua has a bunch of trainees so im curious if anyone knows who the new trainees are and which ones are likely to join the new bg submitted by /u/No_Duty7080 [link] [comments]
I was listening to a random kpop playlist and HyunA's 'Roll Deep' played. It felt nostalgic and it brought me back to Kpop 10 years ago. She was one of the popular female soloist back then. I remember being hooked to 'Babe' and 'How's this?". HyunA's a great dancer and the choreography of her songs are really good. I remember dancing to them and I'd feel sexy. Haha. It's unfortunate that we can't have such concept again like HyunA's. submitted by /u/ISeeYouuu_ [link] [comments]
