4.169. Hobipalooza 2025: A full circle moment💜

Wow wow wow I remember streaming Hobi’s first solo stage live in 2022, I watched him perform his solo work in front of thousands and he did with so much confidence and aura, I thought wow is this the best version of Jhope?? But no it wasn’t, Jhope went on to have an exquisite solo tour that showed him gaining confidence, aura and popularity after every show. Now, we are back where we started, Hobipalooza 2025 and boy is there a huge difference in stage presence, confidence and audience interaction. Jhope has solidified himself as arguably the best k-soloist performance-wise, he is a beast on stage!!! A BEAST. Jay the performer that you are! The artist that you are!!! Amazing work! You did it pookie💜 Jhope is a master of the stage and I can’t wait to see more of him as a soloist and as a part of BTS. Also, I’ve never related to an idol more than Jimin during the show. He told him to take off his shirt😭😭😭 we all wanted that too Jimin😂😂 submitted by /u/Mobile-Structure5702 [link] [comments]

4.170. More groups should put names in their English subs

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

When I first started checking out i-dle, all their early videos (I think through Lion) have each member’s lines labeled by name in the subtitles. I found that to be hands-down the fastest way to get to know the members of the group, and contributed a bit to making me like them because I felt like I knew what was going on. I haven’t seen that with a lot of other groups, which is a shame, it seems like a really easy addition to quickly onboard new fans and orient casual listeners. Not that anyone here can do anything about it, just something I was thinking about. submitted by /u/zoooeys [link] [comments]

4.171. It's been 2 months since Yuehua announced Everglow's contract termination—where are they now?

  • reddit.com language

To preface, as a huge Forever, it's been somewhat disheartening to see all the disbandment assumptions, especially from those who don't follow them closely. This isn't to say those kinds of comments were made out of malicious intent, but to simply explain the purpose behind me making this post, to explain the situation. Without further ado, here's everything we know about EVERGLOW's future thus far, starting off with the big question: Is Everglow disbanding? The short answer is (very likely) no. This has been supported time and time again by the members themselves, who've time and time again expressed their wishes to stay as a group even since the contract announcement. Currently, the only possible wrinkle in this plan may be whether the group stays with all 6 members. EVERGLOW, as of now, has been promoting as 5 without Yiren, due to her remaining contract with Yuehua China. This isn't to say it isn't likely she'll re-debut with them; there's a good chance she will, as her and the rest of Everglow are still very close. (OT6 for life!!!) What's next for Everglow? If you didn't know already, Everglow will be having a concert and possible fanmeet (?) in Japan on 8/29 (Tokyo) and 8/31 (Osaka). They will be performing as 4, without Yiren (previously discussed) and Mia (unspecified personal reasons). The purpose of this concert is to raise money to purchase the rights to their name and all the official accounts that come along with it. It's safe to assume they already have the rights to their songs, as you can't really hold a concert without music. Still, I'm no legal expert, so I won't be touching on how they obtained their songs but not the full "Everglow" package. As for whether they'll be signing with a new company soon or not, Sihyeon has shared that they've attended some meetings, but haven't made any decisions yet. What can we do for Everglow? In my opinion, the best thing we can do for them right now is be patient and continue to support their activities. The last thing Forevers want is for them to sign a contract with a company similar to Yuehua. Everglow has been extremely present on social platforms, hosting lives and keeping us closely updated. It's important we stay hopeful for their sakes, and don't give up on them at what may be one of the most crucial moments in their careers. In conclusion: EVERGLOW FOREVER LET'S GO!!! submitted by /u/yeo_niverse [link] [comments]

Me and a friend were talking about ateez lately and she brought up the concern for wooyoung and how he's been looking lately. She showed me a recent picture and I even saw a recent video of him signing material after one of their concert stops and he doesn't look well. Now I understand that making the topic more talked about it might start getting into body shaming but I truly don't know if it's just the blonde hair he has paired with his already light skin or there's truly something going on and it's a bit concerning Hopefully after this tour him and the other boys can rest. submitted by /u/MochaMilku [link] [comments]

4.182. Got harassed for saying I don't believe in a ship (Minsung)

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

So… I commented on a lighthearted video saying something like “they’re obviously just friends” when people were talking about Minsung (Lee Know × Han). I didn’t insult the idols, I just expressed my opinion that I don’t think they’re romantically involved. That’s it. Suddenly, a bunch of shippers jumped on me like I had committed a crime. I was told my opinion “means nothing” because I don’t believe in Minsung, and that I’m “living in denial.” One even claimed they’re definitely real and are just “hiding their relationship through fanservice.” But here’s where it gets truly ridiculous: Someone literally said that Lee Know is only affectionate with Han, and that everything he does with the other members is meaningless or just for show. Like… WTF!??? They really sat there trying to argue that when he hits Han’s butt it’s a sign of love, but when he does the exact same thing to, say, Felix or Seungmin, it “doesn’t count.” And they said something about the skz staff saying the sparkle is lino's eyes is exclusive for han??? do i look like i gaf??? I tried to respond calmly, even joked once or twice, but it somehow escalated into me being “disrespectful” just for having a different opinion. I don’t get how saying “I don’t ship them” turned into a full-on character assassination attempt. Fandom isn’t supposed to be this hostile. Like... people are allowed to disagree without being dragged for it. Shipping ≠ reality, and it definitely shouldn't mean silencing or attacking others. Some Minsung shippers need to chill. Seriously 🥀🥀💔 submitted by /u/Distinct-Egg-7973 [link] [comments]

4.185. What are some Kpop Opinions that are an immediate red flag to you

Some kpop opinions that are immediately a red flag to me are people who despise when ggs full of grown women do mature concepts and write thinkpieces about them being exploited and the likes but don't have that same energy for bgs. Its odd... and reeks of misogyny. submitted by /u/Nynasa [link] [comments]

4.186. If JYPe didn't have their senior groups they'd be in a bad spot and they don't appear to care much

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

This is not a JYP doompost. We should be allowed to discuss topics that are not completely positive about a company without being shut down instantly which I hope can happen here. So by senior groups I mean Day6, Twice, Stray Kids. Day6 are the only group that charts in Korea in the last couple years and they debuted 10 years ago. Itzy dont chart at home any more, sales are down and international streams are poor NMIXX never got much of any foothold on k charts and while their sales are good and fandom seems to be growing, their GP popularity in Korea is stalled and their international popularity is not growing. Kickflip just debuted, and haven't shown much buzz unlike a BG from other big companies like RIIZE for example. I'm not writing them off at all, but if they become popular it will probably take some time, maybe years. So what does JYPe do if their senior groups become less active? They'd have very little else to fall back on other than some decent touring numbers from ITZY and NMIXX. That feels like a bad spot for a major Kpop company. Its frustrating because while I like a lot of the music their groups put out, like NMIXX is my top group, they just never seem to be able to find a song that will hit with a wide wider audience outside their groups own fandoms since like 2021. They also do very little compared to other companies (HYBE for example) in terms of cross-promoting their newer groups with senior acts, or in terms of finding new effective ways to promote their new groups (like Katseye and le sserafim doing videos with popular English-speaking influencers). Like Babymonsters senior girl group are massively popular and YG had them all over the promotional content leading up to debut. That is a fantastic promotional move. And yet Twice were huge in Korea, but JYPe didn't involve them at all with promo for ITZY or NMIXX. That's just one example of many missteps. It always feels like JYPe divisions are in direct competition rather than working together. Idk I guess I'm just wondering what people's genuine thoughts are on this. I hope we can have a real discussion without retreating to being defensive about the company. submitted by /u/enmicks [link] [comments]
