1.364. About YGs new groups and Blackpink

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

In this video:https://youtu.be/wsiGUcSDGgg?si=ilTLyEca2pcHmrku I agree that it's good that they're going to debut a new BG in 2026 (I think that's what he said), since Treasures contract is going to finish next year (atleast I think it will since they debuted a group in 2019), but that probably means that they don't think Treasure will renew since, in the past, whenever they debut a new group (2ne1, BP, Baemon) it's because another group is going too disband/pursue solo careers. What I don't understand is that I believe that he said he's going to give them solo songs prior to a full group debut. I don't mean solo songs he wants them to have music videos for the solo songs. Idk why but I just find that unusual but at the same time, after seeing Evelli and Chanya I see why he thinks they would be amazing soloists. Another thing is, he decided all the members already so why does he want us to evaluate them, if the lineup is confirmed. I also saw him getting a lot of hate for saying 4 doesn't hold any current significance with many people saying he's shading Blackpink, but can you really blame him? It's obvious that it's the girls that don't want a group comeback, because if they did YG probably would give it considering that their priority is money. 4 doesn't hold significance because after this tour they probably aren't going to have a proper comeback for 4yrs, it's essentially going to be the same as group reunions. I'm not saying YG's perfect but if the girls really wanted a comeback they would give it. submitted by /u/AvocadoFun3905 [link] [comments]

1.365. kpop collection album/photocard sales tips?

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Long story form wise LOL… I got into the kpop collecting world (specifically TXT albums and photocards) during the pandemic (2020) through 2022/2023. I recently stopped collecting because I don’t enjoy collecting anymore because I feel like it devalues the meaning of collecting for me personally, like at that point I was just hoarding. I have a instagram b/s/t account, mercari and discord accs that I use. I enjoyed using my instagram trades/sales acc from 2020-2021 because of instagrams old algorithm & the way we can use the hashtags so conviniently (There was a ā€œrecentā€ tab in the hashtags that made it easier to find posts). During those times, I guess there weren’t much fans who were in the b/s/t world so it was easier to find trades&sales as well. Then, I took a break in 2022 and thats when I realized I was just making irresponsible financial decisions. I started selling my txt collection from 2023-2024 here and there. I was able to sell limited edition items like photobooks & membership kits. Now (in 2025) that I’m ready to let go and part ways with some albums, I made instagram, mercari & discord sales posts but it’s not making a lot of exposures (i guess its also a recession indicator & maybe collectors arent as interested with older albums??). I also tag group sales tag accs on instagram to help up my posts. TLDR: With that being said, help a ya girly out please šŸ™ which websites are the most successful with sales for albums & pcs. any tips & advices? ps. I havent gotten any luck with selling here (at my other account) on reddit either… [link] [comments]

1.368. Critical Korean review of ITZY's Girls Will Be Girls EP hits on the problems with the album and their direction

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Here is a translation of the review from IZM which gave the EP 1.5/5 stars: ITZY, who debuted with "DALLA DALLA," is no longer different. Although K-pop is a field skilled at closely observing trends and transfusing them, the method here is overly blatant. ITZY's new release didn't need to be the stage to prove that the Charli XCX-created storm of isn't over. By aiming for a very high mountain, they failed to even cross the entrance, let alone the midway point. The direct sunlight poured out by the presence of the reference material makes even the shadows faint. "Kiss & tell" and "Walk" are similar to Charli XCX not only in their autotuned vocals but also in the way the beats and melodies are constructed. There are even several flaws, such as cramming in syllables, and the imitation itself wasn't properly executed, accompanied by miscalculations. In many ways, this is a failure born of complacency. Moreover, music is not a product with a large price difference; the value is the same for anyone using a monthly subscription streaming service. If so, who would welcome uninspired reproduction? The listener would have gladly added it to their playlist if ITZY's own answer could be seen amidst the repetition. The title track is at least a step up from their previous work. More space is secured for their strength, which is performance, laying the groundwork for the stage. However, based on the prestige of the group that landed four consecutive hits from their debut to "Not shy," this is an infinitely weak result. Furthermore, while digging into their last album revealed "Imaginary friend" as a hidden gem, this time it's a case of showing a weak hand. "Lock n loaded," a mix of rap, a hard-hitting beat, and a guitar solo, provides some backing, but the overall sense of diminishment doesn't change. ITZY's position is shaking, so it seems inevitable that they will have to recover from the production aspect. This isn't just because of this album. Broadly speaking, starting with in 2021, led by "Mafia in the Morning," and more narrowly, with last year's and , several albums have produced results that fell short of expectations. Although there were very slight upward trends at times, the continuous downward trend weakens any attempt at a rebound. Now in their 7th year, they are facing contract renewals, a turning point for idol groups. However, unlike their brilliant start, they are not achieving the same results as before, so a time for more intense contemplation and reorganization has come. After much deliberation, couldn't they open a second act that continues the legacy of their early days? The final ending of any play with an intermission is not act 1, but act 2. A change of act is not a failure, but a chance for transition. Now is the time to make that second leap. As the members' capabilities are outstanding, it is a shame for them to be remembered as a group that started strong but ended weak. I totally agree with the main criticism here which is pretty much that the team behind choosing and producing ITZY's music is failing to deliver them music that suits their strengths or showcases a unique identity anymore. Instead they are pretty much just following trends which is not a bad thing necessarily, but the execution is poor and they aren't managing to bring anything new or interesting to the table. Which is important because you can tick all the boxes for whatever is trending but there really has to be something to grab an audience, to show them a little different spin on things and not just make them think "oh hey this sounds like X" and then just go back to listening to "X". The last two sentences are also spot on IMO. Initial contracts are almost over and they haven't had a hit in a while. It's not like they're trapped by trying to reproduce recent successes and becoming formulaic. Now would have been a great time for them to be more bold, and do something that feels fresh and unique while still building on what made people pay attention to them for the first few comebacks. Whatever "Girls Will Be Girls" was, it definitely was not that. It's not that it was a bad song...it was just kind of "there". Like what exactly about this music is JYPe expecting to hook people and make ITZY's music popular again? At this point it doesn't feel like their team is trying, at least not as hard as ITZY deserve. submitted by /u/enmicks [link] [comments]

1.369. I listened to the English version of ILLIT’s ā€œTick-Tackā€ by Ava Max.

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

First of all, the song is nothing like the original. The original was this cheery, upbeat song about a girl having an innocent crush. It was cute and fit the girls' concept. The English version completely stripped away everything about the original, like a poorly done remix. Nothing resembled the song in away way, even though it was supposed to be an English version OF THE SONG. Second, the lyrics. ILLIT has a younger age group, 17-21. And the lyrics are very suggestive. Given they're that young, it feels uncomfortable for them to be singing these lyrics. Even if their ages aren't so drastic, they are still young, with two of them underage. It also feels wrong to have them suddenly be exposed to this type of thing against their will. This sounds like a bad remix by Ava Max. It seemed like she just made her own song and was too lazy to release it by herself (or likely wanted to climb the ranks on the billboards) and asked ILLIT to sing lyrics for her, which were very weird. It feels so wrong, especially since she most likely knew what she was doing. Anyways, I couldn't finish the song on my own. I now know that I'll be sticking to the original song. My thoughts aside, though, what did you think? submitted by /u/RoutineAtmosphere99 [link] [comments]

1.372. NCT 127 aren't gonna survive their Akgaes

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

127s are coming out with banger after banger solos last year and this year... Like I really thought Mark's First Fruit would be my all time favorite album of 2025, then Doyoung's Soar came out and really challenged that, PLUS Yuta's solo single Twisted Paradise, PLUS Haechan is getting ready for his release, after Taeyong's banger streak of Love Theory, Shalala, Tap.... It's crazy. Like this amount of talent coming out of ONE group is really crazy. And how different all of them sound. They all have really developed, polished identities as artists, they're all executing their releases at such a high level..... It's CRAZY! I'm brand new to following them as an stan and I always heard that theres subfandom beef in ncity but after getting deep into it, I can't believe how bad it actually is. These akgaes are delusional. Like these akgaes don't appreciate how much strength each member is getting from the core group, if they have dreams of their bias making it as a successful soloist... like you're not gonna get the same lives, variety content, selcas, you're not gonna get the same promotion or success. "SM doesn't support them anyway" girl you are delusional. Can you point to any idol that left for solo pursuits and had the same success??? Like am I forgetting something here?? I can only think of one: Kang Daniel. It's just crazy to see all this talent being almost systemically sabotaged by akgaes from their own group... if the subfandoms just supported the members and each other, 127 would be so powerful. Their 10 year is coming up and there's just this rancid cradlerot in their fanbase for nooooooo reason. Like every single one of these albums are worth bragging about, NCTzens could ALL be bragging about each of these albums instead of arguing about the degree of artistic integrity they imagine went into them... but okay I guess.... fighting for no reason and not supporting the members is good too..... 😭 submitted by /u/snowoftheyear [link] [comments]

I just watched I-dle's MMA 2024 , where they're wearing these golden fits which are absolutely gorgeous and they all looked really beautiful especially Shuhua but they looked kinda off with the songs they performed. Fits looked good with latata , hann and lion (they were made for lion) part but after that I felt like they really didn't suit rest of the performance especially with Fate. I never expected to see fate in golden fits lol. I'm not complaining cause I loved the performance it's just an observation hope no one gets offended lol. submitted by /u/Adventurous-Dog5560 [link] [comments]

1.376. Question to Engines going to Enhypen Berlin concert, please help!

(can't post on enhypen sub due to account age or something, also don't know any other big sub that would allow pictures so bear with me) Could you please check how your German ticketmaster ticket page looks on mobile? Especially if you have a VIP ticket? I am trying to buy a ticket and the seller sent me a video. This is a screenshot from it. It just doesn't sit right with me, idk, why does it say "Seated" for example if it's GA? Even though it was a convincing video, the design of the page just looks sketch to me. I want to confirm my suspicions and maybe make other people aware if they encounter scam. I would also appreciate an example of how it is supposed to look like (put a watermark over it to protect others from scammers) Thank you! PS I put a doodle over the image so that no one would use it to scam others. https://preview.redd.it/7nl50aigoc7f1.png?width=562&format=png&auto=webp&s=b0d6aeb9c890e2a239e6d6579b7a219d5bab275a submitted by /u/PitchOk1315 [link] [comments]

1.378. I think Ador should just rebrand

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I had this idea obviously before the boy group audition video, but today on my way to work I passed an investment company that had a huge money laundering scandal. They have since been liquidated but that scandal has stuck so deeply in people's minds that even the new company that is now situated in their old building, people avoid with a ten foot pole. So...imagine ador? It would do them very much good to rebrand because at the end of the day although hybe is a corporation and not a label people tend to group the idols for marketing purposes. Just my thoughts, yours? submitted by /u/AggravatingListen188 [link] [comments]

1.379. Whats gonna happen to YG's other female trainee team?

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

In the announcement video for next monster (and baemon, BP, and treasure upcoming activites) the man said theres 4 prioritized and skilled trainee teams at the moment 2 boys and 2 girls and next monster is apparently one of the female trainee teams, but since they're rolling out member introductions now it seemingly confirms that their team will be the one debuting. This makes me wonder what's gonna happen to the other trainee team? Are they just going to eventually leave YG one by one like future 2ne1 did or is there even a hope that YG debuts 2 new girl groups in the near future? The other team is made up of older girls I'm pretty sure so they dont have the luxury to wait around for years like next monster does. I've heard that having multiple trainee teams are common in kpop companies but I'm confused on why he even told us the existence of this other team (giving them minimal exposure when we dont even know who they are) when next monster is seemingly locked in. With the loona style roll out they're doing I doubt they're planning on doing a winner/ikon where both the trainee groups are publicly competing to debut but both eventually do or a treasure where both teams merge since both situations have a survival show element to them. Off topic but since he said a boy group is next on debuting in the company are the 2 trainee boy teams competing for this debut privately or did he perhaps already choose which team (probably the one made of younger boys) to debut already and its just a waiting game now submitted by /u/Cerbzzzzzz [link] [comments]

1.380. Tiny Desk Korea: the only program where we can hear absolutely clear, unedited vocals from idols?

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

We know that "It's Live" performances benefit from post-processing. Music show live encores seem to be subject to evasion: let the best singers in the group sing, and the others be "preoccupied" by doing their "thank you" gesture to fans (e.g., putting on cute animal ears, etc.) or some other on-stage goofing-around. I noticed that the weakest singer in a group recently had a very convenient mic problem during an encore on a music show. I doubt the artists knew it was going to happen—but their manager and the show's production team? I mean...come on. Also, the audience's noise drowns-out some of the artists' singing, further obscuring their voices. Same with concerts, where there's also more often than not a background track—MR or LAR, faded in and out depending on who's supposed to be singing. That makes it possible for the best singers to show they're singing live (e.g., by briefly pausing their singing), so that the audience can thereby believe all of the members on stage are singing live. It seems that, when it comes to structured programming, only "Tiny Desk Korea" (a local version of NPR's series) is where you can hear idols' unprocessed, live voices not subject to evasive tricks (e.g., convenient "technical issues"), MR/LAR, etc. NMIXX did great at "Tiny Desk Korea": https://youtu.be/bm-p-3Eh3G4 Is there any other way to hear idols' singing voices in a show format without any processing or other tricks? submitted by /u/freeblackfish [link] [comments]
