K-Pop ruins its own fans. (kind of a self-promo)
Hi guyss, I felt like not many people talk about the negative impact that kpop has on it's fans, so i made a post about it, where i gathered all my opinions and own experiences (with the help of my friends). I would really appreciate if you could check it out and tell me about your POV on all of this or if there's any more examples you can think of! 🤍 You can find the entire post on my Instagram (@starseekerlog) ✨ thank you https://www.instagram.com/starseekerlog?igsh=anlkcHkxcnVkbm4z submitted by /u/soobinhvezda [link] [comments]

891. am i just simply getting old or…?

i’ve been a kpop fan for a couple of years now. 7 years actually. bts was my first group and still are my ults and from the moment i got into them in 2018, kpop became a massive fixation for me. i was keeping up with new debuts, comebacks, concerts, etc. however ever since around last year, i’ve begun to realize how detached i’ve become. other than the groups i already listen to/stan, it’s become a bit harder for me to get into any new groups or even keep up with some comebacks. i’m still kept up in any news of the industry/community since i am still on kpop twitter and here on reddit. but the simple act of caring about these new groups and releases is gone. specifically 5th gen. they just don’t seem interesting anymore. when i have tried listening to new songs or groups, they just bore me. they’re not interesting, there’s nothing “new”, everything just feels like the same thing over and over again or like groups that have already come before. the only 5th gen groups that i’ve managed to feel interested in are baemon and meovv and that’s probably cause they fill the blackpink void until they comeback. other than them, kpop as a whole has just felt boring. i’d say after newjeans is when kpop kinda started to fall off for me. i do like newjeans tho, they have great songs. idk if it’s just me getting older or the industry declining but i’ve found it easier to just listen to the groups i’ve been and even then some of them i only listen to the title tracks. listening to full projects feel like a chore unless im genuinely looking forward to it. idk what do yall think tho? submitted by /u/Outrageous-Ad7806 [link] [comments]

I remember Dreamcatcher being the most popular answer when this question was asked a couple of years ago. But they already got their first win thankfully (and a couple of more afterwards), so who will you say is the most overdue group to get their first win now? submitted by /u/SoRunAwayNow [link] [comments]

899. Are people doing only Jin freebies for the ep tour or mixing OT7 too?

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Was just browsing and started wondering — for Jin’s ep tour, are most people sticking to Jin-only stuff when making freebies? Or is it normal to include OT7 things too even at solo events? Not involved in any project or anything, just curious what people are leaning towards. submitted by /u/ch3rry_sodaa [link] [comments]

Fans discovering new idols: "hey you're very talented and good looking, i want to get to know you!" -JYPE groups: "oh thank you, here's a ton of variety content so you get to know us and like us more" -HYBE groups: "hey friend, we will go on variety shows AND we wil film our own shows to make sure you spend a lot of time with us" -nugu companies groups: "we will try our best even though we cant afford it" YG/THE BLACK LABEL groups: "yeah, tough shit" Ps: me getting into IZNA recently (and baby monster before it) and not finding like 10 hours of variety footage is what inspired this posts. submitted by /u/alikamal48 [link] [comments]

903. What are y'alls expectations for Bangtan's new album?

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I know this might still be too early but I am honestly so excited about the new album. Especially since they told us to anticipate it 😭 Namjoon saying they want to talk to us about everything through their music...it's really going top be an emotional rollercoaster. Not only is it going to be mega successful, it's also going to be emotionally impactful. They said they're getting started on the album soon but I honestly hope they take their time to arrange their thoughts. I submitted by /u/sharathna321 [link] [comments]

904. Can we try to avoid the words "cash cow" when criticizing an agency for how it treats its idols? It degrades the idols, not the agency...

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

It's like saying "our kid tries really hard, if this school had better teachers maybe he wouldn't be so stupid." Just kind of unnecessary damage being done to the person you're trying to look out for. I searched kpopthoughts, this comes up sporadically for both boy and girl idols, but it seems to be trending with SM/aespa. Not that degrading a boy group is any better, but it's kind of weird hearing this specific phrase used repeatedly about a girl group, especially when the metaphor keeps getting extended. If we could get this one basic boundary down when you're writing a post about how evil SM is, but also casually bringing up that you go to all of aespa's concerts and think they're overpriced, that would be great. submitted by /u/abyssazaur [link] [comments]
