my nickname is "unluckiest stray kids fan in the WORLDDD"/ my catch phrase being "oy vay im the unluckiest skz fan in the WORLDDD" my boyfriend also has the nickname of Jewhwan (given by "SuJew", cs hes Jewish, is a Wannable and Jaehwan biased) my boyfriend's cousin has the nickname of SuJew/Super Jewnior (since he was taking a DNA test while drunk and found out his maternal grandmother was Jewish, therefore making his mother and him Jewish/Judaism is a maternal system) and one of my friends is called WooJew SoNyeo (wjsn korean name/he's an Ujung) "WooJew SoNyeo" also has a friend whose real name is a combination of Seventeen's Minghao/Jun (altho written in different characters) is called "seventeen" (and he happens to watch a lot of the dramas Jun features in) submitted by /u/Minute_Ice_7434 [link] [comments]
Recently there has been growing discussion about the constant growth of snark accounts. And there are some communities that I consider responsible for this and the one you read about is one of them. I've seen reports from countless people that when they manage to express their opinions about an MV or action by an idol that they didn't think was cool, they are constantly massacred and their posts are frequently deleted, shouldn't it be a place to express their opinion? Recently I tried to publish a comment about how the Western industry sometimes ends up destroying the psychology of K-pop idols and it was removed immediately, I made an edit to the text removing possible words and it was still deleted. And a snark account appeared to me in which a person reported about an opinion he had about the BLACKPINK MV (the person hadn't liked the song and wasn't disrespectful, just sharing his opinion) in the BP community and said that his post had been removed and went to the snark section since people there accepted opinions of praise and criticism (although it didn't seem like it, I saw a post on BLACKPINKsnark that praised the pinks' outfits). And this made me reflect on how much, without realizing it, kpopers themselves have been playing other kpopers against various groups, consequently of which these people were fans. It's very likely that if it weren't for these problems that kpopers have to accept constructive criticism, snark accounts wouldn't have as much recognition as they've been getting and people would have the feeling of being heard and this hatred wouldn't turn against the fandom, against the artist himself. This last phrase is the one most heard by people who were kpop fans or simply abandoned the artist due to a toxic and fanatical fandom. I used to think that it made no sense for a person to stop liking an artist because of fans, but a few months ago I realized how wrong I was, because a fandom reflects the example it follows from its idols, I understand that every artist has a side of crazy fans, but being mostly fanatic is not a sign of good work. I hope that one day, when they go to the real world or a psychologist, they can remove this obsessive lack and because they are unable to read a different opinion without finding it horrible and wanting to delete it, thanks to these behaviors K-pop artists will have communities focused only on hate that has grown successively due to lack of freedom. submitted by /u/gossippop [link] [comments]

I’ve seen some articles they’re debuting on August 18th, and honestly, I’m excited So far, the rookie boy group scene this year feels kind of... underwhelming? Felt less competitive or exciting. Many of them have good album sales, but their performance on domestic and global charts has been pretty disappointing. Domestically, none of them even made it into Melon Top 100. Some people say it’s generally harder for boy groups to appeal to the general public early on I’m wondering if that’s a fair reason. On the girl group side, it's little bit better. Groups like Izna, KiiiKiii, and Hearts2Hearts have shown solid momentum. There was even some early media play around a “H2H vs KiiiKiii” rivalry, which made things a bit more interesting, although it faded pretty quickly. With BigHit entering the scene soon, I’m hoping it brings more energy and conversation around rookie boy groups. It’d be even more fun if SMTR25 debuted too, but I guess they’ll be considered 2026 rookies. Anyway, what do you guys think about this year’s rookie boy groups? Or just rookie groups in general so far? submitted by /u/matt_vaghn [link] [comments]
If you're an older kpop fan you know that Gee was the iconic song that went viral and brought a lot of us into kpop. Although it came out a few years later that Gee wasn't the track they originally were going to release. They fully filmed a Korean version of Duffy's mercy, after Duffys Mercy did so well, SM couldn't release the SNSD version so they re-recorded, using the same outfits, for Gee. So Discussion, was Gee a turning point for Kpop, if Duffy never topped the charts with her song would kpop be as big. Discuss submitted by /u/nahbruvvvvv [link] [comments]

For me, I keep seeing Tiktoks about how Taehyun (TXT) is always left out, disliked, or jealous of the other pairings or members. Obviously this is not true. Also, he has a reputation of being savage, scary, etc., but he is literally the opposite. People (honestly even MOAs) think that the other members don't tease him as much because he'd fight them or something. Like no, bro will start crying lol submitted by /u/cmoney02 [link] [comments]

Alter Ego seems like it’s generating a giant "bitch sit yo J-lo with the flat ass self down ho we d gaf" and the thing is I wanna like her solo music really really really really she has so much style and potential but the lack of cohesiveness is really uncomforting and I just say if she wants to create alter egos and or o.c's she needs to create them based off her life not some fabricated Ideas of how angry or "badass" she is she's not Rihanna she's trying to be RiRi but comes out looking like boyz era Jesy Nelson. she can still have that identity but it needs to seem more like her and not like she's trying be a professional hoodrat or rocker that's what needs to happen if she wants to form a brand and an iconic legacy that's just the truth. submitted by /u/TastyCookie23900 [link] [comments]

*disclaimer this isn't an attack on anyone in particular but I think it needs to be said way more that it actually does they aren't equipped to handle free expression Idols just being people like having their own endevors doing their own things like it's genuinely tiring that everytime an idol does something that's controversial the fans who say they want Idols to be more "authentic" and "real" and "not to perfect cause it doesn't make me feel secure about myself" who get angry and start calling them horrible things and this is more western stans but they always talk about how the think companies should give idols more space to speak their minds and do what they want in their lives but than drag them for doing so labelling it as "valid criticism" and than go to blame the companies but they prove time and time and time again to be just as bad if not worse. those are just my thoughts let me know what you guys think in the comments submitted by /u/TastyCookie23900 [link] [comments]
