I’m sure it’s happened to many of us. Idols aren’t perfect and sometimes their actions don’t align with our personal values or morals. You never really get to know them on a personal level, but the way K-pop is structured makes it hard not to form some kind of attachment to the groups you stan. And the longer you stan, the deeper that emotional investment grows. Well, at least it did for me. So when they do something truly disappointing, it really, really stings. I learned that the hard way with the Kiss of Life incident a few months ago. I was their fan from day one, and it took a lot of emotional toll and inner conflict to finally move on from the group. It wasn’t something I decided overnight. I had to sit with the disappointment, question my boundaries, and come to terms with the fact that the connection I felt wasn’t enough to overlook what happened. Even now, I still miss them sometimes and think about how things might have been if they had never gone through with that livestream. Have you ever had to deal with that kind of internal conflict as a K-pop fan? Does it take time for you to move on? Are you able to forgive them, or do you find it easier to just cut ties cold turkey? submitted by /u/Carelessies [link] [comments]
Wow fam, KATSEYE did pretty well in Chicago/Lollapalooza 2025 just several minutes ago. There were some cool performances with the remixes and so on too. MIA was too distorted for me (I know it's like that on the studio version), but ya, the ending had a huge surprise too, rofl. Every time I watch these American/European/etc. festivals stuff I think most of us want the Korean camera style instead of random zooming/flyovers/etc. with the cinematography, lol. What did you guys think? KATSEYE did some fairly live/less processed vocal stages, so I enjoyed it even more too. submitted by /u/MNLYYZYEG [link] [comments]

I always hear, "kpop fans don't really care about the music", "if they did, idols and companies would put more effort in XYZ". Unfortunately, I don' think MOST Kpop idols care that much either, if they did I can assure you K-pop probably wouldn't have been their first option among the many other music genres insde and outside of Korea. I can be honest about the fact that most artists/singers/performers in GENERAL (Western or otherwise), step into the scene with a greater ratio'd interest of Fame vs Musical appreciation. Furthermore, for most it's their bread and butter, being heavily adored or gaining enough popularity to segway into the industries they actually want to be in. I would go AS FAR to say, even if many of them DID get the opportunity to have full reign over their creative production, aesthetic and vocal direction, they would TREND HOP or give it back. Truth is, they're a lot more realistic about their odds of surviving in such a saturated industry than their fans. A lot of them would REALLY rather not take the EXTRA RISK, as dedicating your life to this is risky in the first place. The only exceptions would be in companies that already have some level of financial leverage. Worse, most of them make these committments as teenagers and might not have any ACTUAL experience writing, creating, researching or producing music. Ofcourse, no idol wants to be attached to bad music, but the bigger fear is not being able to have any music at all. submitted by /u/Familiar_Shoe_1340 [link] [comments]

I was looking at their post concert photos from San Jose it’s quite obvious he is either disordered and starving himself or losing a significant amount of weight due to another factor, which I wouldn’t deny certainly could be the case. And he says it upsets him when people comment on it? I understand that but it’s practically gaslighting to say people are being rude to be concerned about seeing an idol we care about have visibly sunken in eyes and hollow cheeks he never had before. Genuinely makes me feel like I’m going crazy for caring at all and I’ve honestly found myself pulling away from the group entirely. submitted by /u/Still_Second_703 [link] [comments]

It is my first time at the kcon. I was disgusted and I am sorry but this is so bad. They also buy brand new stuff for camping to just abandon them there. They don’t care, because it is cheap. Like we are not already submerged by massive trash. submitted by /u/Ordinary_Cat_01 [link] [comments]

Let me start off by saying that I have been using the MMT website since the group Lunafly introduced fans to it in 2013, which is when the site went public. I have seen all the crap that they have done over the years. Like when they 100% completely overhauled their site and Make system in 2016 and all campaigns lost 100% of all Makes. For those who don’t know, MMT started out as a crowdfunding platform that emphasized that they were not concert promoters, just a way for fans to let agencies know where they want concerts. Supporting a campaign means that you click a button that says “Make.” The website and Make system were overhauled in 2022. Users assumed the overhaul was because the previous system was flawed and had fans cheating in order to get concerts to happen since goals were too high. I went to bat with them when I found out 1% of Makes were being stolen every day because I was pissed. I spent three months going back and forth. I even got a phone call from an employee in South Korea that semi resolved things and got them to change their messaging on the website to be clear about this. I even got MMT to pay for the expensive overseas call they initiated. I still spent time pushing campaigns for groups I wanted to see near me after that because I thought MMT was my only hope. Flash forward to 2025, and I thought I could use the lack of Make goals for campaigns (that currently has 241,833 Makes) as an opening to push for a concert I wanted. Now this is where I get majorly pissed again. They first told me that goals were not listed anymore due to “fairness.” That makes absolutely zero sense based on what they did in the past, and I told them as much. They also said, “...please know that every MAKE you contribute is meaningful and helps demonstrate demand, which plays a key role in helping the campaign grow.” MMT’s response to my further inquiry? Okay, so for the past three years, Makes have been meaningless. What the hell! Nothing about Makes not being a sole determining factor is listed anywhere on the website. Every campaign has a pop-up when the page loads all about Makes and their importance to getting concerts and events! However, I was looking around the site and found this whole Business Inquiry page that I have never seen before. (I only ever look at the pages for the campaigns I am Making for.) It shows "Partnership Artists,” ongoing partnerships (an incomplete list of acts MMT has worked with in the past), and "Inquire about other artists.” To me, this page (particularly the inquiry part) adds to the fact that Makes mean nothing anymore, despite the website and FAQ having all the same information about Makes, how much they mean, and what incentives they can get you. This all adds up to MMT falsely advertising Makes as being a major factor in determining concerts and events. How is this fair to their users? The one campaign I have been recently pushing has had large and consistent growth since 2022, and I have the screenshots to prove it! Why in the hell have fans been pushing campaigns when they mean crap? My research shows that when game company Com2uS became the majority shareholder (some sources say acquisition) at 58.5% around March of 2022, that's likely when decisions to completely overhaul how the MMT website and Make system worked occurred. It took months of backend work to implement, and the new system went live that same summer. I don’t fault MMT as a company for needing money during a global pandemic that shut down live events. I fault them for false advertising and acting like the Make system has mostly been the same after the system overhaul. They have falsely gotten the hopes up of every single user who has made Makes in the last three years. They know there are still agencies that will only bring their Kpop acts to certain places (see SM and their 2nd gen acts for instance) and do not go where all fans want concerts, despite there being huge demand. MMT was a teeny tiny bit of hope to these fans because we could Make on their website. I have been and seen other fans still promoting Makes as a last-ditch effort to be recognized by agencies. All that work has been for nothing. Idk if I will get a further response for MMT since I mentioned I will be going forward with a false advertising claim in the US and didn’t specify that it was with the Better Business Bureau, but I hope to get a reply this week. MMT knows won’t let this go. Thank you to anyone who read this full post. I know it is long. submitted by /u/Aleash89 [link] [comments]

To me there's nothing about it that stands out. The song isn't anything I haven't heard hundred times before. Do I think APT. should truly win instead? Yes. I think the song has a more throwback pop punk sound mixed with new wave which I'm all here for. Golden is kinda giving every other pop song I've ever heard. This isn't me saying the song is bad I can understand why people like it and if you enjoy it that's great EJAE is super super mega talented. I just don't get it sorry. submitted by /u/onlyeveryotherday [link] [comments]
