59. Why I think skz has aged better than txt

  • 12 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Disclaimer: this is an opinion and ik alot of k pop idol worshippers who tend to get offended over opinions on groups/music they favour so if this post somehow offends you, move on To start iv been listening to skz and txt both for a few years now since 2021, the reason I stopped listening to txt mainly is due to the new music they put out There new tracks just dont seem like there that great or as good as they used to be, they all kinda sound a bit too repetitive/similar and I feel that happy/exciting type of feeling they're old songs gave out now doesn't exist with their new songs Loser lover, ox1, magic, tinnitus, thursdays child, crown, 9 and three quarters, blue hour all of these old songs for some reason just sounded really upbeat and more exciting I have listened to their new episodes/albums and they honestly dont hit the same as their older songs, now skz on the other hand I feel that they have kept their same type of style or music type in alot of their tracks without making it sound repetitive. For example they just dropped creed and idk why it sounds so similar to their songs like n/s, same with other songs like s class or topline they kinda resonate more towards their songs like domino, etc Honestly I just think skz for me has just kept their same type of music style/flow which makes me think they have out done txt throughout the past 2 years. submitted by /u/Worldly_Finger_1450 [link] [comments]

61. y’all are doing way too much over cortis

  • 12 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Cortis will most definitely not be calling you “noona” when you’re not even korean. Literally so many 5th gen groups have 08 and 09 liners but yall act like cortis are the fetuses of kpop. If you’re 20 and think Juhoon is handsome that’s okay because his facecard is tea, but why are we making their age your whole personality…You should not feel uncomfortable to stan a group with young people if you’re just their for the music and the music only…yall be having these weird thoughts and it really shows. Now do I think young people should debut in kpop, ABSOLUTELY NOT, but has it been this way since kpop began, unfortunately yes. submitted by /u/Illustrious_End2319 [link] [comments]

63. I don’t get the assumptions about Enhypen :(

  • 13 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I will start that I’m a hard multistan, but Enhypen is my one of my ults. I was a soft stan from the time of their debut, so I guess I never really heard outside opinions about them. However, I’m very surprised how they are viewed by the Kpop Stan world. I see all the time that they give off cold vibes and don’t even look like they like each other or fans… what?? I’m honestly shocked because those boys are trauma bonded by i-land! They are a little different from some other groups because they don’t show their affection through skin ship. That might be the misconception. However, once you get into the group you find out most of them are just lovable introverted dorks. They are also some of the hardest working performers I’ve ever seen. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing them in concert twice now, and it’s been incredible each time. Their music is amazing. If you’ve never listened to them or have only listened to title tracks, go listen to Chaconne and Criminal Love. Anyway, I don’t blame anyone if kpop twitter has made you believe things that aren’t true. However, if you are seeing this post go and give Enhypen a listen. submitted by /u/didyouseemymagg [link] [comments]

65. Are YOUNG POSSE’s music video views rigged?

  • 13 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

So I noticed something strange with Young posse’s recent music video. They’re still rookies and not that well-known yet, but when the MV dropped the views started escalating really fast. I think it reached around 10 million in about 4 days Here’s the weird part: once it hit 10M, the counter basically froze. It’s been stuck there ever since, which makes me wonder are the views fake? On top of that, the engagement feels off ;there are only about 4,000 comments, and the likes also seem suspicious. submitted by /u/alotofbruhmoments [link] [comments]

67. New Yuehua Boy Group Information (2026 debut)

  • 14 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I saw this on instiz heres the link : https://www.instiz.net/name_enter/97135520 It says the group will be made of ZB1 Yuehuaz (Zhang Hao, Han Yujin, Kim Gyuvin, Ricky) + new trainees 7-8 members 07 liner that looks like Cha Eunwoo A member that is really tall Debut in 2026 It seems like the evnne members are not part of the lineup, one of the comments says this info was already revealed on women's community(?) forum so im guessing the info came from there. A lot of comments are saying the cha eunwoo thing is just for marketing, which is probably true. Do you think if the lineup actually looks like this the group will have a shot at doing well? I know there are other bgs that will debut next year including the new SM boy group and the boys 2 planet group so there definitley will be competition. I'm curious to see how popular this group will be compared to the others. I personally would prefer 7 members over 8 because I tend not to like how even numbered groups look when it comes to formation. what do you think the ages will look like for the new members? do you think the rest of the members will be korean or do you think they would add another foreigner to the lineup? submitted by /u/Charming-Map-2301 [link] [comments]

71. Golden’s production similarities to I Am + How it’s still so different from the ‘Kpop’ sound

  • 16 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Golden doesn’t just sound like I Am. Its MV and the one for How It’s Done specifically refer to it, when you look at the plane shots. I think this clarifies that its production does the same. I hear the kick drums are very similar to Golden. But the drums on I Am sound like they have more of a separate, quiet low frequency note and higher pitch tap element that doesn’t boom. Golden’s kick feels like a more standard, unified sound and is boomier. Also, these melodies/instruments sound very similar. Listen past the drums: 0:29 I Am, I’m not sure if it’s a electronic keyboard sound or what. The notes start to rise. The note it rises to sounds like 0:34 of Golden. This instrument has a more typical ‘synthesizer’ sound? I think it’s not more similar than Katseye’s My Way is to Miley Cyrus’ We Can’t Stop. There the delivery, vocal melody and theme also seem to build directly from the earlier song. I don’t sense that I Am has much influence on Golden’s lyrics or singing. The singing in I Am likewise starts off quietly, but songs often have a build up. Still, I think the connection is stronger to Ejae’s own quietly sung, likewise autobiographical Take It Slow I posted about. KDH is a soundtrack that intentionally resembles some existing Kpop, in order to represent it. Sometimes, they even stated what song’s vibe they want to recreate (see the mention of Butter for Soda Pop here.) I think they would be conscious of avoiding sequences that would run into infringement, and maybe even use Kpop songs like My Way as a model for how far to take a sound alike. But it’s the differences from ‘Kpop’ production that make Golden, not the similarities. A major difference on KDH is that production isn’t the star of the show, rather it’s the singing—vocals and lyrics. Even in How It’s Done, rapping the whole song sets the vibe more than the instrumental. The visual references to I Am frame the similarity as coming from the movie side. It’s like how Your Idol references the BTS Idol live performance in hanboks. They have to root it in something that sounds like Kpop, while not distracting from vocals, which are more critical for providing clear dialogue in a musical movie. That’s one of the key things that feels makes KDH songs feel not ‘Kpop,’ despite Black Label/Butter production. Golden rule breaking Similarity to I Am isn’t why this song succeeds. It’s fundamental differences compared to the ‘Kpop’ sound that makes it work. The soundtrack instrumentals generally feel subdued for Kpop, in volume and catchiness. Because they serve the vocals, which are produced loud and direct for Kpop. There’s less of that wide soundstage echo in the voices, part of the typical ‘vocal doubling’ style. The voices in I Am and other female Kpop songs remind me of string instruments, and they’re one of many instruments in the production. Meanwhile, KDH vocals feel literally more ‘front and center’. They’re less buried in the production, less coming at you indirectly with an exaggerated stereo effect. Golden, like Rose’s number one girl, is more driven by vocal performance. Even Soda Pop I noticed has more rapid vocals that do a lot of melody work that instruments typically do in Kpop. The catchy melody comes much more from the sung part, because you want people to sing along to a musical, even if they can’t hit those notes. That’s part of why Golden is peak immediacy in Kpop. The other part is from Ejae’s vocal ability and her writing it. Her vocals, not the production, dominate the track. The singer doesn’t submit to the group either — instead the song submits to her. A lot of ‘rules’ are broken on the soundtrack. Line distribution gets thrown out the plane door. It’s easier when there’s only 3 members. The vocalist takes over a song as an individual showcase. Kpop does have its own strong vocalists, but even so, they’re not ‘supposed’ to outshine the group for most of the song. Rap is present on every part of How It’s Done; even its sung “lullaby” hook is a good rap punchline. Also, English Kpop just hits harder from fluent speakers. It’s rare to get emotional English sung by the person who wrote it. The clauses and meaning will just flow better when you write it for your English-speaking self. Stray Kids self-writes and has individual expression and craziness, not raw emotion. Number one girl has six other cowriters besides Rose, according to Apple Music. Ejae put emotion from her personal life in songs she wrote for others, like Red Velvet’s Psycho. Others performing a song dilutes the words, as when Katseye performs Gnarly instead of Alice Longyu Gao herself. All these ‘Kpop’ constructs and styles have reasons, but are filters on the connection between singer and listener. It’s not meant to emphasize strictly singing. BTS is peak Kpop because of their precise performance of hard choreo, that’s since trickled down to female groups. This soundtrack doesn’t come from idols who bring other elements of Kpop like dance. Emotion and story matter more for a soundtrack than addictive production. So there has to be less filter. The songs need to connect, and you need to bring The Feels that’s rare in Kpop, regardless of the Twice song. Usually, cute, drip and hitting the right psychological notes take the place of direct emotional connection. A choreographed dopamine feed with visual, sonic, and social elements. Because direct connection through song doesn’t really make sense in, say an 9 member group. Golden comes from people like Ejae and its Black Label producers who spent most of their careers working on Kpop. But it’s Kpop with less filter, more just singing and feeling. It’s rare for Kpop to feel raw and personal, because they needed to make you feel that Rumi is a real person. submitted by /u/hyeran_jainros_fc [link] [comments]

72. Kpop fans are not as good with idols dating as they think they are.

  • 16 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Disclaimer: I am writing this post as a person that has been into kpop for eleven years. So, we all know that when it comes to idols dating, whether that be with non-idols or other idols, that they usually do not make that relationship public. And if it does somehow come out that an idol is in a relationship, it usually happens because the companies have confirmed it. Even after that, there are usually no public interactions between those idols. For years, I have seen other kpop fans express their distaste with how idol relationships are handled. The general consensus is that idols are human and should not have to hide or be ashamed of their relationships. Many fans over the years have expressed that who their idol dates is none of their business. While I would like to say that kpop fans have moved forward in how they feel about their idols dating, they are still the problem. The biggest example that I can think of is the relationship between Dawn and Hyuna that happened some years ago. Although fans were genuinely happy for this couple, they were still crossing boundaries left and right. There were tons of fan edits, think pieces, and accounts dedicated to the Hyuna and Dawn as a couple. That is not normal behavior. Yes, I know that Hyuna and Dawn were very open about their relationship, even going as far as to appear on shows together, make music together, and post couples photos together. Still, the amount of people that were invested in their relationship was a problem. It does not matter what or how much information a person posts online about themselves or their significant other, it is not normal to be so invested in that relationship. Especially as someone who does not know them AT ALL. It's gets worse when they broke up. When Hyuna and Dawn broke up, there were way too many people weighing in on what they thought happened. Especially when Hyuna came out with the creepy guy from the Burning Sun Scandal. Yes, it was absolutely appalling to see that she got into a relationship with a known predator, but it was completely wrong for people to tie that back to her previous relationship with Dawn. People were genuinely upset when she was engaged to and married that guy after she was engaged to Dawn because they thought she left him for her current husband. It doesn't matter what happened, that is no one's business but theirs. In addition to that, there were so many people that made posts and comments about not believing that true love exists because Hyuna and Dawn broke up. Does anyone not see how crazy that sounds? Two people, that you did not know personally, broke up. All you know about them is what they shared in the media and online. You know nothing about what happened between them when the cameras were not filming. You only know what they showed you yet their breakup damaged how you thought about love??? That's ridiculous. There are other examples as well: Baekhyun and Taeyeon, Kai and Jennie, and Heechul and Momo. People to this day are still talking about how it was so sad for these couples to have broken up because you could tell how much they cared for each other. How??? The only things that we got from the Baekhyun-Taeyon and Kai-Jennie relationships were blurry, grainy photos that were released by third parties. We only knew about Heechul-Momo because it was confirmed by the companies after a bunch of rumors. Besides that, there were no public interactions or content released about those couples. Yet, to this day, people still have so much to say about how heartbroken the couples were. To wrap it up, a lot of kpop fans would like to think that they are open-minded and "free" about idol relationships but they really aren't. A lot of them are the problem. Just because you don't stalk your idols and their partners or take secret photos of those couples does not mean that you aren't the problem. Becoming so invested in a relationship between two strangers and their relationship status is a problem as well. submitted by /u/cutescottishfold [link] [comments]

I just need to let out a little bit of my feelings and thoughts about this album and Key himself because it's been building up and I feel like I will burst if I don't. Key got his second win for Hunter and I just feel so incredibly happy! He's been in the industry for 17 years, a solo artist for almost 7 years now, and to see him getting not only one, but two music show wins for his recent comeback made me so happy for him! He's such an incredible artist, his solo discography is flawless to me, he's creative and passionate and he just encompasses everything I love in kpop in one single artist! He's fun, so talented, and a complete artist all around! The album is just amazing, too! It's a full album that doesn't have a single skip, with a gorgeous design. I am just so, so happy as a shawol/lil' freak! 🥹🩵 submitted by /u/pearlpirates [link] [comments]
