idk who needs to hear this but r/NJDrama was literally made to “discuss the ongoing legal issue between NewJeans and ADOR” — not to farm karma off hating on the girls and their fans 😭 like scroll through that sub for 2 minutes and it’s just ppl calling newjeans boring, saying katseye replaced them, dragging their vocals, or mocking fans for existing. barely anything about the actual legal case anymore. and the funniest part is half the posts are just petty “bunnies bad” takes dressed up as “general discussion” like be serious… this is just an anti sub at this point. attaching screenshots bc the bias is wild lol submitted by /u/Pretty-Device-7721 [link] [comments]
It looks so cool, like what? We need it back!! He looks so good with multi-colored hair! What do you guys think of it? Also, what colors would you like to see on him or other kpop idols that you think they’d EAT. submitted by /u/dancing_hpfan [link] [comments]
Aside OBVIOUSLY from all of the seunghan drama, I feel like everyone always takes digs at riize for things i really enjoy and think make them unique. I’m very diverse with my music taste, but also very picky with my kpop groups, and I feel like riize is one of the few that really pertain to me, so I really just don’t understand the points people bring up to hate on them. it really baffles me because i think their concept of having not one single concept is really genius and their sound stays consistent even through a genre change, but so many people feel the exact opposite. People also always talk about how sohee is the only strong vocalist and maybe wonbin sometimes too, but their vocals are all really solid ? sure maybe not all of them do insane riffs, but i see a lot of performances where i genuinely think they’re lipsyncing because they sound so accurate to the track and they’re not. with ticket sales for their new tour doing poorly, it’s also dragged in a lot more hate,, but ALL kpop groups are kind of doing poor with ticket sales? i just don’t understand why riize doesn’t hear the end of it. I’m not one to glaze or defend the groups i enjoy like crazy, nor play into hate i see on the internet because truthfully every group gets hate. it just confuses me when anytime i want to be involved with riize online i always see majority of people bashing them, when usually hate for a group stays in corners i can never reach lol. I also know that seunghan obviously played a major role in why they lost a lot of support, but to me I feel like they get hated on for things that dont pertain to him at all, not to mention him leaving was not their decision at all! pleaseeee help me understand this submitted by /u/ktor_7 [link] [comments]

┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓ Hey everyone, today HITGS returns with their first mini-album, one that I’ve been curious about. I enjoyed the debut that this group delivered, as I’ve had it on repeat. I'm hoping this new project from the group is just as good as their debut, but we will see. So let’s jump into this mini album and see what HITGS brings to the table with their first mini album. ┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛ https://preview.redd.it/h0kyqe4hbjtf1.jpg?width=1536&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9145400ba64835e9983a82e68658725283d2f197 Things we love : I - HITGS Happy Happy is the opening song on the album with electronic vocals before the members come into the mix. The funky-pop vibe works well for this group as they deliver some smooth moments that keep this tune moving. The hook has color to it as it opens up the album in a perfect way. I’ve been obsessed with this chorus since I first heard it this morning. I can’t even get this instrumental out of my head as it’s so catchy, fitting the group's performance wonderfully. It didn’t take long for me to like this tune because I’m a big fan of these upbeat, funky-pop tunes. I’m glad they picked this type of tune to open up the project, as it works well for the group. https://preview.redd.it/2rnh4izsbjtf1.jpg?width=283&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1b17a20d54e8d1e7854fe35c26b2f9f12c86ba46 ━━━━━━━━☓ ━━━━━━━ A-Ha! A-HA! opens up with synths as the members' smooth vocals come into the mix. The percussion brings in a thumping vibe that works well with the vibe the producers crafted. I find this group works wonderfully with these bouncy-pop vibes that help get the tune into your head. The hook has slowly been growing on me the more I hear this track. We get a little rap in the second verse that flows with the overall vibe. I still wish this song were longer cause it feels like it comes and goes too fast, not letting the track develop into anything, but I still think this tune is an enjoyable one. https://preview.redd.it/4hiac8nybjtf1.jpg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6f7d645af8c738c2b14537efc88abd6c3104a65a ━━━━━━━━☓ ━━━━━━━ PAGE Out of the three new songs, I found PAGE to be my favorite as I fell in love with the instrumental right away. The song goes for this groovy-slick funky vibe that fits the group's fantastic performance. I love how smooth this track is, fitting the group like butter, and the hook is so infectious that it’s been in my head since this morning. Each member provides great vocals that keep this tune fresh and smooth. The bridge is another excellent moment as the vocals get stronger before the final hook comes into the mix, tying everything together. https://preview.redd.it/in8jpi74cjtf1.jpg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=25200d88dc10074c376bb70ca4a06d6e6bb36c28 ━━━━━━━━☓ ━━━━━━━ Gross Gross was pre-released back in June, and I will say while I semi them, they sound a little weak. The hook isn't bad at all, but it's not as catchy as what the group delivered during their debut single album. I feel like this new single Gross is a bit of a step down from what they delivered with Sourpatch and Never Be Me. I just hoped the group would return with something a bit better than what Gross delivered. I will also say I can still listen to Gross, but it's not my overall favorite. I do find Gross a little weak to be put on a mini album, but I will say Gross has grown on me a little bit, but not as much as I was hoping for. https://preview.redd.it/rdjfajt8cjtf1.jpg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=294e50cc64e24c5dbe532a66321382f2bf40bc79 ━━━━━━━━☓ ━━━━━━━ CHARIZZMA The closing track, Charizzma, is a bit better than Gross, but still feels like it's lacking the spark the debut had. The vocals from the members are pretty good as they work well with the overall vibe. The thumping instrumental is decent enough to work wonderfully with the group's performance, but something about it feels a little lacking. The hook could've been better. There is one moment where the beat switches up for a moment, but that second feels a bit out of place for me. HITGS had an excellent debut. I also feel like Charizzma isn’t the best closer for the album, as it feels like there could’ve been another song to end this record. https://preview.redd.it/mezod3yccjtf1.jpg?width=1000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=141bd2c5163a72553469b018872404e0341f77d5 ┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓ Summary: HITGS is back with their first mini album, one that I find to be a decent one, but not one that overly impressed me. Happy does a great job opening up the album, which was way better than how it closed. PAGE is my favorite song out of the new ones, as its slick, funky groove will keep pulling me back for more. I feel like this mini album doesn’t have the spark that the debut had, which I was hoping for. Gross did grow on me a little bit, but not as much as I was hoping for. I still can’t wait to see where the group goes in the future. ┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛ https://preview.redd.it/awqg4vsgcjtf1.jpg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c2ad0d6ce0f508d5da906e18a554150367a1e9c3 submitted by /u/Maltifandom23 [link] [comments]
I dislike how critiquing music these days is reduced to being a "hater" of a certain group. As someone who enjoys critiquing the media I consume, I wish the culture surrounding music criticism would be more than just being a hater. Nuance doesn't exist in the K-pop space and it's hurting the industry. When artists are not critiqued for their work, they'll keep pumping out numerous "low quality" projects and their fans will keep eating it up. Critical music consumption in the Kpop space is reduced to hate that ends up being destructive instead of being constructive and it's super annoying. At the end of the day, it's not possible for all of us to always be SUPER critical of the music we consume. Sometimes we want to bop to Super Tuna without thinking too much of it. I'm more concerned about the general culture of thinking that EVERY piece of music our faves produce is perfect. Like it should be okay to admit that we did not really like a certain project without being tagged as a hater and the conversation ending there. I felt so strongly about this issue when it seemed like I was the only one who thought that the recent Stray Kids lead single was weaker than their previous projects. Ceremony was a hit and an obvious earworm, but I think it was not as strong of a song as their other lead singles. I love Skz down and I appreciate their experimental nature but I feel there was not really any room for discussion or criticism on their album. I bring up Stray Kids in this case specifically because they produce their music and are heavily involved in the songwriting process too so criticism in this case is super helpful for them. There are so many talented producers and songwriters in the industry, but not engaging critically with their work is going to hurt their creativity too. We keep hearing complaints about the apparent reduction of quality in recent K-pop projects in general but we eat everything up and take everything we're given...high quality or not. It's not helpful for the idols or their teams behind them. submitted by /u/Serious_News_5093 [link] [comments]

Okay, hear me out. I’ve been noticing this pattern, and honestly, it’s kind of pathetic. You could have the most chaotic, messy family situation imaginable parents fighting, cheating, lying, all the adult drama and somehow, Kpop stans still find a way to blame Enhypen. Enhypen in particular, and Engenes in general, seem to attract this kind of irrational scapegoating energy. It’s like some people actively look for a reason to complain about them, as if it gives their own miserable lives meaning. What’s wild is that no matter what’s actually happening in their personal lives, they externalize it onto something completely unrelated. They’ve basically turned Enhypen into a punching bag for their frustrations. These people are aware that Enhypen is barely five years old as a group they debuted during a global pandemic, yet they’re surpassing groups that debuted years before, proving themselves to be young, talented, and ridiculously hardworking. At this point it’s giving very much jealousy…it’s sad and miserable making me laugh in every single way. submitted by /u/Any_Relative_9857 [link] [comments]
I’ve been thinking about this lately, even though I wasn’t super involved in the whole Trainee A story back when it was happening. I only followed them briefly at the time, but recently I’ve found myself revisiting their journey and wondering how things turned out for each of them. From what I know now: Yorch is in POW, Jihoon debuted with TWS, Woochan is part of ADP, Sangwon and Leo are in ALD1, James is in CORTIS, and JJ is still a trainee but under SM Entertainment. I’m curious how others feel about the directions their careers have gone. I don’t mean this in a negative way at all, and I hope this doesn’t come across as judgmental, but I can’t help but wonder how they feel about everything. They were originally meant to debut together, and the anticipation for that debut was huge. Yet their paths have all diverged, some of them are now in groups that are receiving massive attention and popularity, while others are in groups that are flying more under the radar. I also keep thinking about JJ in particular. It must be difficult to watch your former teammates debut while you’re still waiting for your own moment, and on top of that, every time a new picture of him surfaces, a lot of comments focus on how “SM ruined his face.” I imagine that kind of scrutiny must be hard to deal with. I actually started learning more about the whole Trainee A story fairly recently, after James debuted with CORTIS this August. I was in Korea last month and kept hearing their songs, which led me down the rabbit hole of looking into the member’s history. So, I’d really love to hear what others think, how do you feel about where they’ve all ended up? And do you ever think about how they themselves might feel about the different directions their careers have gone? submitted by /u/yktfvstassie [link] [comments]

I really really dislike when one member is hide behind another member from the camera, specially in the chorus part, like they didn’t think about any other formation where every member can be seen? Specially in small groups, they are just 4, there is no need to hide one behind another. And I mean it only when it’s just one member being hidden, when it’s 2 or 3 or more so another subgroup can have their moment, I don’t mind, like in the last image with Twice, but when it’s just one, it looks kinda humiliating to think about him/her dancing where no one can see him/her. submitted by /u/yukzio [link] [comments]

Recently watched BTS Sowoozoo concert from BTS movie weeks and it made me remember how much I adore the stage set-up. The stage itself represents both the 8 years they’d been a group at the time and an infinity symbol for the amount of time they want to be a group in the future. The giant moon/planets to symbolize the celestial “small universe” theme in Sowoozoo’s title. The screens set up around the venue with ARMY bombs stuck on the top to represent ARMY that couldn’t attend in person due to the pandemic. Everything about this stage design was just amazing, and the fact that it was made solely for a 2-day live-streamed concert and not a full scale tour still baffles me. What are some of your favorite stage designs in kpop and do they have hidden meanings that add to the overall theme/story of the performance? submitted by /u/Tayyy_734 [link] [comments]
It isn't fair. All idols have some beauty. We should not be fighting over idols looks. I don't care if they got plastic surgery. Idgaf. I don't care if an idol is short. Idgaf. Unique beauty is something you people cannot seem to handle. Korean beauty standards mean nothing and they don't define someone's worth. I don't know why people are so judgey, like god forbid someone looks different or isn't made out of plastic, you know? submitted by /u/No_Prior_3740 [link] [comments]
