Any recommendations for 4th gen and 5th gen songs? I got into K-pop back in 2011 with 2nd and 3rd gen groups but I didn’t really follow the newer ones around 2019 and stuck with the old groups / artists. Since then I’ve only stumbled across a few songs from the newer gens and now I’m finally open to diving back in. I tend to gravitate toward music with a nostalgic vibe especially R&B but I’m open to any genre. (Feel free to spam suggestions btw as I'm building a Spotify for the new gen songs) For reference: 2nd gen / 3rd gen – Big Bang, 2NE1, MBLAQ, miss A, SHINee, BTS, SISTAR, TEEN TOP, B.A.P, WINNER, Block B, BTOB, EXO, iKON etc. (too many to list) Songs that caught my attention from 4th gen / 5th gen: &TEAM – Deer Hunter (this song dragged me back in) CLOSE YOUR EYES – All My Poetry CLOSE YOUR EYES – Snowy Summer CLOSE YOUR EYES – To The Woods NewJeans – Supernatural submitted by /u/sasuke4k [link] [comments]
Well I have been thinking this a lot.. I feel Ahyeon is overrated. My absolute favourite is Rami, her singing skills are exceptional. While Rora is good too but still she needs more emotions to her voice. I absolutely loved her part in hot sauce. Pharita is so underrated, like she has a voice which I will describe as luxury ✨.. I really love her tone. Go ahead and tell me your thoughts on it and do upvote. submitted by /u/princess_bella- [link] [comments]
I remembered NMIXX again and tried to recall their debut, their debut was iconic, and... yeah song just feels like nonstop yelling, loud and unpleasant to my ears. When it ends, it’s like peace finally returns. I don’t even understand Korean, and this song somehow makes me understand it even less. Yeah, still not enjoying it to this day, and it just not grew on me. What do you guys think? did it grow on you? submitted by /u/matt_vaghn [link] [comments]

Very curious what you consider to be your fav group’s musical masterpiece in terms of quality and creativity! I think it isn’t necessarily the group’s most popular work, though it certainly could be. It also isn’t necessarily your favorite song! For my ult groups: Pentagon - Daisy. Or maybe The Game Seventeen - Super, which also happens to possibly be the group’s most popular song. Imo, I Don’t Understand But I Love You and Fear are other possibilities. submitted by /u/Lilac-Soul [link] [comments]
Hi everyone! This post is a weekly thread for any thoughts you might have that feel don't need a post of its own but still would like to air to the world. All rules apply, but you can discuss anything you want related to Kpop. Please be respectful and have fun! submitted by /u/KpopThoughtsmodteam [link] [comments]
Obviously, currently across the industry, alot of new gen artists seem to be tackling the nostalgic teenage-hood concept in their own ways. As a girl group enjoyer, I've noticed: The colourful teen crush concept which really had early 4th gen/late 3rd gen girl groups in a chokehold is not as popular now. STAYC and perhaps UNIS seem to be holding it down currently. ITZY were the most popular girl group with this concept, but they've matured into doing more heavy hitting girl crush songs lately (born to be, gold, girls will be girls). Sultry, sexy concepts also have been fading away for a while obviously since alot of artists are too young to be doing any of that. Besides, some of the older gen kpop girl groups people always like to refer to when it comes to sexy concepts also had minors in their groups. Kiss of Life is the singular girl group I can think of that still goes for it. The elegant izone-gfriend like concepts aren't as popular too. But tbh, the last time they had alot of prominent artists was back in 3rd gen (oh my girl, lovelyz, gfriend, wjsn, laboum, early apink, april) and mayyyybe early 4th gen (izone, loona 1/3 and yyxy). CSR and ILY was in that lane before they switched things up. Illit seems to dipping in and out of this lane sonically. IVE feels like a veryyy modernized version of this concept in the sense they feel more similar to late apink than to early apink. What do you think? submitted by /u/peach_tweech [link] [comments]
My opinion: 3rd gen: - Uji (BESTie). She is a former EXID member but she was only in the group for 2 months. Dia (Kiss&Cry) Haena (Kiss&Cry) Linzy (Fiestar) Bohyung (Spica) Kiss&Cry and Spica as a whole are vocally strong. 4th gen: All of 12dal (Nayul and Yerim) Jungwoo (BVNDIT) Swan (CRAXY) 5th gen: Kim (VVUP) Hello (Kandis) Soram (Candy Shop) Minami (Rescene) Kandis as a whole group is vocally strong. I’m a girl group stan, so I don’t know any nugu male idols but you can write them in the comment section. submitted by /u/cyberstacked [link] [comments]

Hi everyone, I’m curious about the challenges we face as international K-pop fans. It could be anything — streaming, voting, merch, fan sign events, language barriers, time zones, etc. For example: • Finding accurate translations quickly • Understanding fan voting schedules and how to participate • Streaming platforms not available in your country • Expensive or complicated shipping for merch • Missing live events because of time zone differences I’d love to hear your experiences. What’s the most frustrating part for you, and how do you currently deal with it? Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/Wooniinseoul [link] [comments]
