My niece recently got into Kpop Demon Hunters and BTS. I'd love to make her a playlist of stuff to check out but my flavour is more noisy/intense - I've dipped in and out of kpop over the last ten years so my wider knowledge isn't huge. She likes Butter, Boy With Luv, Dynamite, and Permission to Dance so I'm looking for things along those lines - light, cheery, upbeat bubblegum ish I guess? I did try I Like It by skz but she was unbothered (cry bc theyre my ult). From a scroll through my library, I have so far: Just Right - GOT7, Pretty U - SEVENTEEN, LAST NIGHT - TREASURE, FREEZE - KickFlip, Wave - ATEEZ, Magnetic - ILLIT. Ill also throw in some more skz like Get Cool, Awkward Silence, Surfin' etc. Would love some more recommendations š«¶š» submitted by /u/wherethedragonsleeps [link] [comments]

Both songs have that shocking value when you first listen to it and campy lyrics. About wonho's live that he deleted cause people were being disrespectful and inappropiate thinking they saw something im sure you wouldn't want that too if it was you in his place and people thought they saw his intimate area. it wasn't. Just enjoy an idol's live when they go live Its normal to be a fan but what isn't normal is sexualizing or objectifying an idol because at the end of the day they are human beings with feelings and a job. you don't know how your words will affect them in person. So please be mindful you don't know these idols in person. They are all strangers unless you know these idols personally. Man what the hell is wrong with some of y'all? touch some grass Please. thats all im gonna say. Thank you reading. And for the decent kpop fans out there in the world keep being you and lets fight to protect idols from disgusting fans fighting! ā„ļøšŖš» They don't need to be dealing with terrible stuff from the wrong kind of fans. submitted by /u/MemesAnDmoArFuNny22 [link] [comments]

What does "creating a safe space" really mean in kpop? When idols say things like, āIām always here for youā , āYou can rely on meā āLetās get through it togetherā It sounds personal, intimate, like they care just for you. But donāt get it twisted. Theyāre not literally offering 24/7 friendship or emotional support. What theyāre offering is a carefully packaged emotional illusion of comfort, safety, and presence manufactured through live, some healing lyrics in music, fan letters, curated moments in fancalls. Itās part genuine sentiment, part performance, and very much part marketing strategy. They donāt know you. They canāt carry your burdens. They just curate emotional access to make you feel seen and cared for, even though the care is one-sided and limited. Now hereās the contradiction, btw āIām always here for youā vs. āI need time offā You canāt have it both ways. You either admit you're human and need rest (which is fine) or stop telling millions of strangers youāre emotionally available to them at all times. Itās logically inconsistent, but emotionally effective. And thatās the whole trick , Idols are expected to perform endless emotional labor. Fans, in turn, start thinking the connection is mutual when in reality, itās not. When idols say āIām always hereā, what they actually mean is āIāll show up in small windows, when Iām paid to, when I feel like it, and when it fits my image.ā So why do they keep doing it? well, because it is what sells.Parasocial bonds are the backbone of kpop profit. Despite how some idols do genuinely care, it is still only within the safe distance of screens and curated moments. The system itself rewards emotional accessibility. The more ārelatableā they appear, the more profitable they become. So if youāve decided to become a fan of someone, ask yourself. Are their emotional illusions worth every second of my life? Will I look back and regret the money, time, and emotions I invested? Did I buy those albums and tickets out of obligation to āsupportā them or because I genuinely love the music theyāre serving? Be honest with yourself. The difference matters. because then, idols won't have to talk about this again, at least not very so often. Repeat after me: "K-POP IS A BUSINESS, NOT A FRIENDSHIP CLUB." Fans are not their friends You're random strangers who happened to like and emotionally invested in them. --> the sooner you understand that, the easier it is to stop mistaking manufactured intimacy for genuine connection. submitted by /u/Party_Nervous [link] [comments]
with the recent popularity of Kpop Demon Hunters and it's English Kpop songs and other English releases from top groups---APT, Dynamite, The Feels, it sucks that the popularity of English Kpop is increasing each year, yet the K in Kpop remains stagnant. it seems like only OG Kpop fans listen to pure Korean language songs. submitted by /u/Miserable_Seat_9226 [link] [comments]
