I have been an ARMY for five years straight, and for the longest time, this fandom had been the strongest one out there. Very protective of the group and very determined. To be honest, I didn’t focus much on Park Jimin as my bias is Hoseok and once BTS went into Hiatus my whole energy was targeted towards Hoseok’s solo career while waiting for a group comeback. During this time I’ve noticed that Jimin’s solo fans (they call themselves Pjm apparently) were growing very loud on twitter . It was so damn annoying. The fandom couldn’t breathe without these people coming at them. Everything had to be about Jimin or else they would attack. They have this narrative that ARMY do not support Jimin. That most of them prefer Jungkook and Taehyung and Jimin is the punching bag. In my opinion, the only reason why ARMY stopped prioritizing Jimin is because of those fans. They grew so toxic that they would literally attack other idols for just interacting with Jimin. Because of a simple Joke. Because of another member having a certain project etc… They would attack Hoseok for expressing his love for dance, claiming that he shouldn’t believe that he is the main dancer because Jimin is better.. I do understand that toxicity exists everywhere, so aside from that I want to talk about what they did for Jimin and I want to understand how they managed to do that. To be fair, Jimin’s solo career had been the most successful when looking at numbers despite people not knowing about it that much. It just shows how dedicated his fans are. They got him a freaking DAESANG despite being up against really strong fandoms. He was getting incredible streams that we all thought they were bots. He’s still topping korea’s Spotify for MONTHS . I just do not understand how?? He keeps topping brand reputation in Korea although he doesn’t trend much . His fans keep pushing this “Jimerica” brand on him, calling him the most famous in the US. They over exaggerate the hype over his events and appearances and it works bcuz western media start writing about it. They started competing with ARMY when it comes to snatching titles, awards and records for him and it’s working for some reason. What made me write this post is his latest achievement that truly made me wonder how come they grew this big. You’d think JK’s or Taehyung’s solo fandom is the strongest but for some reason Spotify had ranked Jimin’s “Who” amongst the highest earning artists alongside the weeknd, alan walker and freaking avicii. We are talking about songs that were released a decade ago and he made it to the list in one year with a song that nobody knows?? At this point they are a fandom of their own, and I just want to understand how did Jimin out of eveyone else got to have this dedicated fandom. I genuinely want to understand because I’m a little impressed. Who knows, maybe I will turn into a fan lol submitted by /u/lily1609tt [link] [comments]
Share the groups that are most active in social media, quickly updating, and know lots of trends!!! I think it’s ENHYPEN, IVE, TXT, ILLIT, and KATSEYE- (they know so much trends, post a lot of clips/ shorts, and I had lots of notifications from them:) But it's definitely not Stray Kids lol😂, they always follow the trends so late😭 submitted by /u/Specific_Cake_5410 [link] [comments]

To start off, I want to say that NewJeans verdict surprised no one. This isn’t particularly about them, as their claims have little to nothing to do with what’s been going on that’d require this opinion. With that said, I do think that some aspects of this case show the need for a union among idols. Now, while I’d also say that termination fees etc are normal, in no real scenario should it be millions of dollars, especially since these are usually young kids that have little understanding of what being bind with a contract means; and their parents seem to show little effort into explaining it. The horrible working hours, inhumane schedules don’t even need to brought up. I know this is kind of an unrealistic expectation, especially from a country driven by capitalism and a strict working culture. And for an industry filled with mostly uneducated teens, and uneducated adults that grew up in the industry. But a girl can dream. I also acknowledge that if idols are given a chance to unionize, the CEOs and what not will find unimaginable loopholes to prevent unionizing. I also know that idols aren’t textbook definition of workers. That just goes to show how how little the South Korean judiciary system regulates a major industry within their borders. And to expect idols to mediate with big guys in bigger suits when faced with a challenge is just unrealistic. I can only imagine this could happen by the leadership of a senior artist, I just hope that someone can take the lead one day. submitted by /u/maneack [link] [comments]

The over sexualisation of Katseye is absolutely not okay, especially when one member is still underage. Some people may defend it by saying “she’s 18 in 2 months” (that just sounds pedo behaviour to me) but forget that at the end of the day a member in an adult concept group is still a MINOR! The first red flag was when gnarly came out and Yoonchae had to do a dance pose and lip sync to a moan, that we now know came from a porn video. A 17 year old bending over to a moan is iconic to you guys? The second red flag is obviously Gabriella, and the over sexualisation of Daniela, which yes she’s okay with it, but let’s not ignore how Hybe seems to now be pushing the “sexy latina” concept on her, which is icky to say the least. The third red flag, and definitely not the last, is Yoonchae’s recent outfits? I think Hybe forgot this girl is still 17 and decided to completely ignore her age and give her sexual outfits. The Mariah Carey red tight-skin outfit? disgusting. And now the outfit with her wearing a bra? Come on now, she’s still 17, a MINOR. And even the over 18’s like Meghan, people forget that she’s still 19 (nine-TEEN) and it feels icky seeing her shaking ass on stage. But if we wanna strictly stick to age, a minor should never be in a group that’s concept is leaning towards adult - shaking ass, wearing tiny ass shorts and now wearing only a bra on stage? Eyekons think it’s ok because their fanbase are the girls and the gays, but completely ignore how Hybe is profiting them as sexual things in order to cater to the male audience, and they are doing it so obviously. But yes i forgot it’s cunt having a 17 year old shake ass and lip sync a moan on stage! I feel bad and horrible for all the katseye girls because they are being exploited and oversexualised. Some of them may be okay with it, maybe even all of them, but it still is not okay for Hybe to be blatantly promoting them as sexual beings for money. Disgusting. submitted by /u/ProudKyrgyzMan [link] [comments]

Quick update on the surprise project. I finished painting the background and the main outline of the Kpop themed wall while she is away. Her mom saw it and was so happy and surprised, she kept smiling and kept thanking me which honestly made me tear up a little. I kept everything removable and simple so it still feels like her room, and I tested the paint and protected the furniture. Now I have the final details left to do , shading, small accents, and cleaning up the edges. If anyone has easy last minute ideas for simple details or removable accents I could add, I would really appreciate them. I can share before and after photos when I finish.❤️ submitted by /u/More_Tradition_8374 [link] [comments]
