Hey folks! Over in r/kpop we just posted a new special Town Hall that is focused only on the Flairs we use to help organize our posts based on content categories. Link to r/kpop's 'All About Flairs' Town Hall We included announcements for new flairs here on r/kpoppers and also on r/kpophelp. The following is the section relevant for this subreddit. NEW FLAIRS! Connect - This flair will be used for anything where fans are trying to socially connect with each other. Announcing new K-Pop subreddits or Discords, looking for mutual fans on social media, wanting to meet up at a concert, seeking fans in a region to form a dance group, networking for a fan project, announcing a K-Pop night at a club, etc. Research - Academic surveys related to K-Pop or fandom topics. We'll keep an eye on these new flairs to see if they create any confusion or need adjustments. Let us know if you have any thoughts, concerns, or questions! submitted by /u/alleybetwixt [link] [comments]
Frankly put, i see too many posts on reddit with OPs (mainly on other subs) willing to sacrifice their own integrity, dignity, and intelligence just to make a point. A point that is often exclusive to a specfic demographic or gender. This is particularly dangerous and pervasive when people do not acknowledge a rebuttal standpoint. if they did they wouldnt create such nonsensical bullshit, and certainly not double down and stand on it. I am concerned for those of you who live for your parasocial relationships. The problems of possessing an idol goes far beyond the one I mentioned above. If I could say something to someone who needs to hear it: no one is perfect go put yourself out there. your red flag is a green flag to someone. and if you find that youre making mistakes and that youre not the person you wish to be, good, thats the first step to building a life and your character. the more time you waste on people who dont know you exist, the more time you spend neglecting yourself. Honestly, tell me how you all consume kpop in a mentally healthy fashion, I am trying to figure it out myself. I am also coming from a slightly emotionally charged place so be honest if anything seems unbalanced. submitted by /u/kungpow103 [link] [comments]
The AI-generated couple photo trend started in Indonesia and spread across Asian countries, especially in Southeast Asia (SEA). There were even paid commission services to generate couple photos for a designated person for an arranged fee. It got a lot worse in my home country, Myanmar. People just seemed to think of it as a harmless trend and would even post the pictures online casually. When I say the trend was big, there were more than a hundred thousand fangirls and fanboys, including fans of celebrities outside the K-pop community, using AI to generate lovey-dovey couple photos. I even witnessed some generating photos with NSFW (Not Safe For Work) intentions, and I was deeply disturbed. The usage of AI in my country to generate such photos is getting out of hand. Where and how can I file a report for the agencies and entertainment companies to take legal action against these creeps? submitted by /u/Lonely_Weakness_3853 [link] [comments]

It has been a while since Lara got falsely reported to ice. I wanna know everyones reaction when you guys found out about this. I was lowk shocked when I found out. I was so confused why people would do this bc of a fan war? GIRL LARA IS AN AMERICAN CITIZEN 😭!! It is so stupid people would do this bc of a fan war. If we keep this up companies will stop taking their groups to America because chaotic fans will report the group idol(s) to ICE . Like pls lets be more mature nd not report idols to ice..! It is so sad how fan would go so low to do this to win a fandom war. submitted by /u/Ssqpphirc1111 [link] [comments]

I mean anything, ads, scrolling on tiktok, stumbling upon an M/V on YouTube (how I discovered it), insta feed, from a friend, seeing albums in stores, etc. submitted by /u/ZZONKKED [link] [comments]

I don’t follow them, so I do not know what’s true. People on TikTok are talking about boycotting because of abuse. There are clips of some content they did recently where they ask for stuff from their company. One asks for the door to the dorm back, and they are refused because they were not following their diet There are clips of one of the members on live and screaming in the background. The CEO posted a clarification that the content was an exaggeration for comedy and the screaming is because they are a university. Idk if I trust companies, though. Just wondering if anyone is more in tune with this since I know they get brought up quite a bit here. submitted by /u/JellyForward2986 [link] [comments]

Does anyone have any cool tricks or uniques ways to find new kpop? (They don't have to be the most effective, just neat and cool) submitted by /u/SnooOranges829 [link] [comments]
So after years of calling out idols for inauthenticity and companies for exploitation, He's now training and debuting an idol boygroup in this exact system and will debut next year. I'm old enough to remember the jyp, bts idols diss just the past couple years. You would think he would distance himself from the idol world but it feels like he's just following the money. K-hiphop is pretty dead in term of mainstream and money making these days in Korea or aboard. submitted by /u/diplomat_extreme [link] [comments]

I’m 06 liner so not THAT old for KPop groups, but my 04 liner hardcore stan friend went from being >7 years younger than a lot of gen 3 idols, or the same age as KPop maknae, to now being the same age as the oldest members of the groups, or straight up not being able to debut bc she’s too old lol. Even I feel like an ahjumma when 4/5 cortis members are younger than me, like wtf am I doing with my life when high schoolers are being celebrities. I can’t believe 2004-liner Wonyoung debuting at 14 in izone and shocking everyone was SEVEN years. That’s the length of an entire contract term wtf, Covid has really killed my perception of time, it should be illegal that Covid years are counted. submitted by /u/Historical_Brief3367 [link] [comments]
