Lim Jaebeom is raaaarely mentioned in best singers BUT HAVE YALL HEARD THIS MAN SING?! His vocal range is beautiful, he can hit an E5 (love loop if you’re curious which song), is versatile, and is so good at producing and singing. I’ve been an ahgase for so long and I’m always amazed by how good he sounds and shook that not enough people recognize his talent submitted by /u/Eviestevieoppar [link] [comments]
Here's my current stan list, and biases, recommend me some groups to check out! Feel free to also recommend some songs if you want to. submitted by /u/xunyomi [link] [comments]
I’m so damn tired. submitted by /u/josungwoo [link] [comments]
I played Dirty Work a couple times and my first initial though was "This feels like a mix between NMIXX style and Straykids" but as I listen to it more, It absolutely feel like an attempt to see how the Aespa would work in the western music genre. It feels so empty compared to their hits that I loved like "Whiplash" and "Drama". Doubt this song would flop considering Aespa is already an established named in the Kpop industry but if you really are an open minded kpop fan or kpop listener, you should know this was below standards for Aespa. I love them but its... A "Naah" for me. submitted by /u/PonyyingBop [link] [comments]
It’s a kids’ movie and a good lure for pre-pubescent girls to join the madness of fandom. The Golden Trio is a nod to the pioneering, first-generation K-pop girl groups: The Kim Sisters, The Hee Sisters, and S.E.S. Starting the movie with a montage of three-member girl groups feels like an intentional tribute to the early history of K-pop girl sensations. With the success of the movie on Netflix, I’m 90% sure a sequel is coming. My theory is they’ll add another member to the Golden Trio (I love how tongue-in-cheek the song titles are in this movie). I’m expecting the second film to echo the evolution into 2nd- and 3rd-gen K-pop groups, especially the “Power of Four” trope (2NE1, Blackpink). As someone who grew up on Winx Club, Sailor Moon, Powerpuff Girls, Totally Spies, etc., this checks out. It’s a classic narrative move in which a new member joins the core group, bringing in new powers or perspectives to help take down a stronger villain. All roads lead to Blackpink (Power of Four supremacy). Sony took the opportunity Riot didn’t with K/DA. Huntrix is so K/DA-coded. K/DA dropped in 2018 during the Blackpink boom, and one of the designers said they took direct inspiration from BP. Bekuh Boom wrote and produced most of K/DA’s hits, and she also wrote a lot of BP’s big tracks. The movie opens with “How It’s Done,” co-produced by TEDDY. The opening beat echoes The Girls, the title plays on How You Like That, and the “done, done” hook sounds like a playful riff on Ddu-du Ddu-du. Rumi’s design pulls straight from Jennie’s Kill This Love era. But there’s another layer: the White Tiger (Baekho) that follows her. In How You Like That promotions, Blackpink aligned with the Four Guardians: Jennie with the White Tiger, Lisa with the Vermillion Bird, Rosé with the Azure Dragon, and Jisoo with the Black Tortoise. In Sino-Korean mythology, they’re also called the Four Gods or Four Auspicious Beasts. By the end of the movie, the White Tiger isn’t damned like the other demons, as we would expect since it's close to Jinu. It glows light blue instead of red, signalling its celestial nature, opposite of Gwi-Ma’s hellish colour palette. This was foreshadowed earlier, when the Baekho led Rumi and entered its statue form guarding the palace. From Rumi's pov, the statue stands on the left side (West), which subtly confirms it as the White Tiger of the West. Jennie wore her iconic White Tiger top throughout the Born Pink World Tour. So, the Rumi–Jennie parallels stack up. The White Tiger’s already in the picture. It all feels like setup for the Four Symbols/Four Guardians to be the core mythology in the sequel. submitted by /u/ElvenQueen726 [link] [comments]

If you haven't listened to this collab, please do. dAvd and Hyunjin's voices, the lyrics, the melody, the cover art, everything fits soooo well it's just wonderful. It reminds me a lot of the types of songs Hyunjin has released as SKZ-RECORD. I'm very happy with this work. submitted by /u/Turiturita [link] [comments]
So d4vd just released a song called Always Love featuring Hyunjin of Skz and I’ve never seen a collab this well matched. It meshes their individual but pretty similar styles perfectly and their voices go so well together. I’m in love with the song. submitted by /u/SomewhereOnEarth37 [link] [comments]

Aespa, Rosé, Jessi and KATSEYE all released new music and MVs today. What is everyone thinking about each? Who do you think out did themselves? submitted by /u/MasterHospital [link] [comments]
Now that Katseye's Beautiful Chaos (2nd mini album) is out for essentially all parts of the world, what do you guys think about it, and also how their future discography will be, since some people want more hyperpop, standard pop, dance club music, groovy R&B, et cetera. Personally I want them to do a full Spanish title track a la NMIXX for Soñar. Or with the actual next release, hopefully they'll have a more R&B song (or vocals-focused arrangements in general), like Red Velvet Wendy's Vermilion. Or what if for the Katseye members to actually sing in Korean (especially Sophia, Lara, and Yoonchae). Or a KATSEYE version of Dirty Water from their idol survival show. Like Ezrela, Sophia, Lara, Manon, and Samara with the Dirty Water stage performance video for the The Debut: Dream Academy finale. They haven't really rapped or done a truly hiphop-based track and I haven't seen many fellow EYEKONS/Katseye fans clamor for that even though it could have some potential, especially due to the current pop landscape. Like imagine if they do something like the music of Jvcki Wai (Neo EvE mini album), Awich (Pendulum, Love Catcher Japan OST), Lexie Liu (K/DA Seraphine, search up her Meta Ego album, same with Bygone (it's from her 2030 album), one of the most underrated Chinese-English tracks out there, the lyrics are legit so relatable (especially for fellow Asian-Americans)), et alia. I typically prefer dark/atmospheric/groovy/R&B/dreamy/nostalgic/ethereal/futuristic/cyberpunk/etc. songs, so anything along those lines will be cool. But yup, hopefully Katseye's next singles/title tracks, mini albums, full album, etc. won't take as long compared to the interval between Soft Is Strong and Beautiful Chaos. submitted by /u/MNLYYZYEG [link] [comments]
Love the comeback. Such a good song but sad won't get to see this song performed at any k music shows. submitted by /u/foodiliciousdiaries [link] [comments]
between APT and now On my Mind, Rose is going to have 2 nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. that is 2 out of 5 ,,, those are good odds. APT has a lot of the commercial success needed to win and On My Mind has the creative sound needed to win. submitted by /u/Serious-Wish4868 [link] [comments]

idols are constantly being filmed - whether it's behind-the-scenes content, youtube shows, or variety programs that record for hours. and sometimes, you catch a clip that wasn’t supposed to make it to air. a side-eye, a tense moment, a shift in tone like they forgot to wear the "idol voice" for a second. i’ve always found those moments fascinating. not the polished edits or fanservice bits, but the real reactions. when someone looks visibly annoyed after a comment, or the vibe between members suddenly changes mid-convo. it can be subtle, but you feel it... and it kinda breaks the illusion (In a good way). so i thought: why not start a thread of those “off-script” moments? anything that felt honest, awkward, tense, or just different from the usual persona. Could be fancams, talk shows, random youtube clips, all welcome. i have some on mind: doyoung trying to avoid leeteuk on his youtube channel — i came across this video by pure chance. leeteuk was filming a lot backstage during smtown, and you can tell some idols (especially hoobaes) looked a bit uncomfy, probably just exhausted tbh. at 23:15, doyoung is chatting with minho, and the second leeteuk approaches… he literally dips out of the frame 💀 https://youtu.be/wo-9yLSyPCs?si=wIVCyqZSqjZCSeaM don’t believe me? there’s more context (and another angle) on shinee’s youtube channel — at 37:10, you can see minho and doyoung happily chatting… until doyoung notices leeteuk and literally flees the scene. https://youtu.be/17JO-QvEmgo?si=KAucWBRwxSYYnLTT submitted by /u/blancdeer [link] [comments]
For a while now I've been thinking about how much I miss the first few years of aespa. I thought how they directly incorporated lore into their music was really cool and it was unlike anything I'd ever seen before! I lived for new SMCU releases too lol. IIRC the girls themselves have said they didn't like the concept and that's fair. But unfortunately, it's the concept that made me fall in love with them :( (not in a weird parasocial way!) It's safe to say we'll never get more lore again, and the æs are probably long dead now haha, but I miss it all so much.. ah I don't know what to do. When a group you love evolves into something you don't care as much about.. Sorry for the ramble!! submitted by /u/synthcrushs [link] [comments]
Day 1 is your favourite group! The top comment will be our make believe groups name. Boy and girl groups are welcome. (some days will be repeated to get enough idols to be our members) submitted by /u/xunyomi [link] [comments]
