after the katseye lightstick teaser came out, stays have begun to criticize katseye for allegedly copying skz. they say that it's basically identical to the v1 stay lightstick. what do you guys think? honestly, i think this is all stupid. the compass star doesn’t belong to skz. not to mention, katseye literally debuted with that star and no one cared. now they chose to care? like, seriously, can we stop hating on these poor girls submitted by /u/Heeynii [link] [comments]
So, it was announced by both Kaylee and JYP that they have mutually agreed to part ways. With this and KG leaving the group, VCHA is now down to 4 members and looks like JYP is going to re-debut them. So how do you go about building hype for re-debut after such a mess? This is how I will go about it. I will add Marquise from Dream Academy in VCHA. Why Marquise, it will be answered in this post (keep reading till the end). Marquise, a Thai representative in Dream Academy was Top 10 in dream academy. A Thai member will bring in a lot of Thai fans, YG girl groups have always had Thai members after Lisa (even YG's upcoming girl group has a Thai member) and that's why they get a lot of support from Thai people. YG groups are also the most popular in Thailand for a reason. There is a very big Thai kpop fanbase and adding a Thai member will bring in new fans very quickly just with the announcement of Marquise as the new member. Note: This will only be announced 1 week before debut. In predebut songs and to build hype for their debut her face would not be shown, I will explain it later how that would go and how that will create more hype while going with this mysterious route. Now coming back to the point, why Marquise I feel Vcha needs a visual like her, I just saw her instagram pics, my god she looks like an ethereal fairy. That red hair in dream academy did her dirty that I never noticed she was tgis beautiful, she did not stand out because of that red hair but now she looks so visually striking with her Black hair. Also she has the same height as Kendall so she would not look odd height wise. Dream academy had one of the most talented pool of trainees so she was one of the best dancers given she was not professional trained like the top dancers in dream academy. She was also a good vocalist, Camila is already the main vocalist and Lexi the sub vocal. So it's not like they need to fill the main vocalist position. Now if I was being tasked with their redebut, this is how I would going about revealing the lineup for re-debut. First, I'll release a statement that KG and Kaylee has left VCHA. I think many people still don't know about it. One the same day I would release a dance practice video on tiktok and instagram account of vcha in a dark trainee room with the video titled as - Dance performance by "whatever new name they have thought up". Why on the same day?, It can be bad publicity? so what?. Popstar Academy blew KATSEYE up and it was all bad publicity for the group. They still had everyone's attention because of that show which they did not have with their debut. Negativity/Gossip is what gets everybody talking. Doing positive things only gets you praise for a day and then everybody moves on with their life, but you do something controversial and boom you are the talk of the town. Now coming back to what will be in the dance practice video. They will do a Mature choreo (since the girls are all around 19) like Buttons from Dream academy, in a dark room which does not show their faces and after they are finished with dancing they will all be in a straight line with Marquise being in the center, a spotlight will light up to reveal the remaining four remaining VCHA members but the middle member, Marquise will not be revealed and the video would pan & zoom in on her and blip with - Guess who is the new member of "whatever new name they have thought up". This will create buzz and hype for their re-debut and then I would roll out two pre-debut songs within a month, with dance performance videos and everything. The two songs will have similar vibe and energy as, "Just keep watching" by Tate McRae and "Fame is a gun" by Addison Rae. All this will be done while still keeping the identity of Marquise undisclosed. All this will build hype for their debut. Then 1 week before their debut Marquise will be revealed, with her solo dance performance in Prominent places of Thailand and those same streets that Lisa had in her rockstar music video. Yeah, I know it can lead to copy allegations, but Lisa has a lot of Thai fans and when Thai fans will get to know that Marquise is a Thai member they will jump on to defend her on the Internet. Boom now she has Thai fans as well as all the attention for her group's re-debut. How would you go about it? submitted by /u/tooshydooshy [link] [comments]

I'm seeing most latest releases are going on the soft pop side more than the hard hitting loud music we had just a few years ago..even artists who were releasing loud songs have pivoted to this..while I understand changing dynamics of what is popular and adhering to that, I really miss comebacks which had loud sounds and by instead of the I can say foot tapping yes and good also ngl but not really hard hitting..... I am not against people who like it or the artists you do you but its something I wanted to run away from in pop music and came to kpop but if they are going to replicate softer sounds its really disheartening for me as its something I didn't keep my expectations for in kpop Ik this form of music resonates and is a hit in the eyes of the korean public but still like this trend is upsetting.I still love the releases no doubt but its not something I want as a kpop fans in the long term...even groups like ateez and skz who have had the loudest skngs have mellowed down ..Eg while chk chk boom is still edm heavy its still less jarring and lighter to their previous tracks and their latest Japanese release hollow is showing the same...even ateez and txt are showing this..while txt is still on the calmer side of music love language was completely soft pop(i like that song don't get me wrong) and even ateez latest song while not completely the dreamy type but is not very metal or edm heavy and I really enjoyed that aspect of ateez..while is comeback is freaky and a good song I really don't like this trend overall Ik 4th gen got a lot of hate for noisy music and y2k and dreamcore ,soft pop is the new hype like two, njz, illit...while I love these I still want those songs as well :(( submitted by /u/Stayblinkforever1606 [link] [comments]

Kpop labels are about to make some localised groups in all big music markets, this is the next strategy of kpop labels. In all their research they have seen kpop has peaked everywhere specially in the west and South East Asian countries and many other countries like the south east asian countries, Turkey and other latin american countries have started making their own local groups and they are quite successful. These local groups are affecting kpop growth in that market and could be detrimental in future specially if the infrastructure of sea localised groups keep on improving, sea being the largest kpop market could be the end for these labels if they don't do something about it. Kpop has peaked and it's not going to grow anymore, HYBE chairman and JYP Entertainment former CEO (JYP) both came to the same conclusion of exporting kpop methodology to different music markets and that's the next of kpop globalisation in their quarterly reports. This is just a start of making localised groups in different markets. JYPE has Localised groups in US, they are about launch their latin group and Maybe even an european group (by audition shows names similar to the counterpart A2K, America 2 Korea which made Vcha, it will be E2K and L2K) HYBE has localised groups in Japan, US, Now in Latina America, they have also opened their subsidiary in China and About open another in India in October 2025. SM also has their British biy group dearALICE but they haven't dipped their toes in localised groups so much as JYPE and HYBE till now. They will have to in future if they don't want to be dwarfed by rest of these labels. YG is also making some a localised groups for Thailand so it's just a start. The people at the top and shareholders have agreed to the vision of exporting kpop methodology around the biggest music markets of the world, they will have to do it to keep growing as a company shareholders want constant growth and kpop's bubble pie is limited, so this is the conclusion the people running the kpop industry came to. I made this post in the wake of people getting really weird about KATSEYE on here, 5 years down the line of people will not be making katseye is kpop, katseye not kpop, katseye taking advantage of kpop, katseye would be flop without kpop fans and what not. Katseye is bearing the brunt of this hate and criticism because they are first successful project by a kpop and American company partnership. Vcha will have it's redebut soon and people will get weird about them as well. Then the latin boy group of HYBE will debut people will get weird about them too. So I had to make this post. submitted by /u/tooshydooshy [link] [comments]

I didn't see a post about the photos here but Taehyung & Suzy went viral recently on Twitter. One post has over 350k likes, another one got over 115k likes. What do you think about them? They seem to be good friends and their visual chemistry match. I'd like to see them in a K-drama someday. submitted by /u/flutterbye1995 [link] [comments]
I'm just a bit puzzled as to why they’re so often at the center of discussion in Kpop spaces when most people don’t even consider them a Kpop group. They specifically label them “Kpop-adjacent.” I have nothing against them, I’m genuinely curious as to why they generate so much conversation among Kpop fans and communities while people simultaneously draw a clear line that they’re not part of Kpop. For a group that so many seem eager to differentiate from traditional Kpop, it’s interesting that they’re mentioned more often than 90% of actual Kpop groups across major Kpop-related subreddits and other platforms. On this subreddit alone, I feel like they're in the top 5 most frequently mentioned groups right now. And the most ironic part is that in almost every discussion, I see comments emphasizing that they’re not Kpop as part of the reasoning behind whatever point is being made. Is it purely because they’re under HYBE and the fact that most people were introduced to them through their affiliation with the label’s Kpop artists? Or is it that they’re actually much closer to being a Kpop group than fans like to admit and people just aren’t sure where else to discuss them? submitted by /u/Acrobatic_Prize_7749 [link] [comments]

📌 Template by u/Funny_shit_ig! I had done this post for K named idols earlier, but since it didn't get much engagement, I felt it was only fair to give it another shot. Some people also mentioned they weren't fully satisfied with the results, so here's a chance to give it a proper shot and make sure every deserving name gets recognized! Just a small request, let's try to be as fair as possible when naming idols. I know we all love our biases but avoid defaulting to them if there's someone you genuinely think stands out as a dancer even if they're not your ult please feel free to name them. The goal is to appreciate real talent and keep things fun and respectful for everyone! Again to keep things fair, please avoid repeating names that have already been mentioned. Let's give everyone a chance - the comment with the most upvotes wins! submitted by /u/lia_core [link] [comments]

Why is katseye discussed in kpop forums and spaces when the fans themselves say they aren't kpop, like if you aren't a kpop group then there is no reason they should be discussed and promoted from updates to songs, bring them somewhere else, the fans bragged that there not K-pop so it's better if we simply don't promote them here, those fans can go somewhere else, is there anything I'm missing or saying wrong??? submitted by /u/Easy_Number_14 [link] [comments]
