Been a hot minute since I heard or saw anything about them and they usually don't hide so I was wondering? submitted by /u/Special-Ad6201 [link] [comments]
there was once a point in time where k-pop dances were simple, because the vocals stood out much more. the ancient scriptures are being rewritten, and I'm not able to keep up with it. don't get me wrong, l've been loving the choreographies that have been coming out recently. but it sucks knowing that I only come back to that song because the dance is fun to do, or l like watching the idols perform the dance. look at "Into the New World" by SNSD for example. simple dance, still fun to look at, but most importantly you're able to go back and listen to the song without thinking about the choreography. hopefully this doesn't sound like me yapping too much. but it does get to a point where I wish they could just focus more on sound quality. It's now a battle of the choreographies, but the sounds are all way too similar. submitted by /u/1004cocoa [link] [comments]
It’s only been, like, two months since CORTIS’s debut, and the internet has already spawned a dozen OTPs shipping them as star-crossed lovers. Don't get me wrong, ship what you want, but it's wild how fast the narrative locks in. (Friendships fanon are mostly tolerable if executed well) I swear, the fandom immediately latched onto these "forbidden love, pining from across the practice room" tropes and is glamorizing the hell out of it. It's giving "I've read more fanfiction than I've touched grass." And I'm gonna hold your hand while I say this: some of y'all need to log off and remember what it's like to interact with actual human boys. If you watch their chaos and your first thought is "that's so gay," you're welcome, that's just a normal, chaotic, late teens boy group interaction. They're not reading the subtext because there is no subtext; they're just being dumb and cute with their friends. Let them be the cringe, wholesome kids they are without projecting a whole romance novel onto them. At least for the first year. submitted by /u/Lonely_Weakness_3853 [link] [comments]
When I was 8 or 9 years old, K-pop started to become popular because of Blackpink and BTS. Sometimes there would be some MVs on the cable TV I had at home, and whenever BTS DNA came on, I would freak out on the couch, even though I didn't know who it was. Sometimes Blackpink would also appear, and I would be very excited. At that time, I didn't have a cell phone, so all I saw about K-pop was what was on TV. Over time, I started listening to Blackpink more, around 2018 and 2019. Then, around 2022 and 2023, I started listening to other groups, mainly because of Twice. From then on, I started following several different groups, mainly SM and YG. What makes me continue to like K-pop since that time is the involvement that exists between fans and groups (this exchange is something that I don't think exists in other musical styles) submitted by /u/my_name_is_KarinaAes [link] [comments]

We're talking: - Chest voice - Mixed voice - Head voice (or falsetto) - Fuck it, throw vocal runs in there, even though it's an embellishment and not a register. Who have you all got? I'd list my candidates but I wouldn't want to steal someone's picks. submitted by /u/Scared-Activity4731 [link] [comments]
What do you guys think about Different (Le Sserafim), Where Do We Go (i-dle) and Rock & Roll (Itzy)? I'm really into Different and Rock & Roll. Le Sserafim's music is so easy to listen to. They just have this vibe that is so unique and it come sout so well in Different. Rock & Roll was just a masterpiece. It's just the most Itzy song ever!! It's definitely one of the best releases this year. I think Where Do We Go needs a little more time to grow onto me but it's definitely not a bad song. What do you guys think? submitted by /u/Infamous_Egg_5625 [link] [comments]
Our first band member has been filled! We have Wheein on drums! I reckon she matches the vibes of a rock band so solid choice! Now onwards towards bass! submitted by /u/The_Entire_Tone [link] [comments]
Zayn, Bruno Mars, Tyla, Doechi, Doja Cat, Future, the list goes on. Lisa on White Lotus, Jennie on the Idol. They have people who worked with Travis Scott and Kendrick Lamar behind their albums. I don't think I've ever seen another kpop group or company pull so many high profile U.S. artists/talent in all of kpop history. How is BLACKPINK able to achieve this? submitted by /u/Wooyoungsmole [link] [comments]

Hypothetical question! (You can view each of these as a separate scenario, e.g. assume the whole team did not disappear at once lol) In your opinion, who would take over the role of the missing member(s)? Who would become the leader? The main vocal? The main dancer? The visual? For example, for my ult group Pentagon (assuming OT9): If Hui (leader) was missing -> Kino Kino (main dancer) missing -> Yuto Hui & Jinho (main vocals) missing -> Hongseok Yanan (visual) missing -> Shinwon submitted by /u/Lilac-Soul [link] [comments]
Well, getting straight to the point, ever since Irene and Seulgi's album came out, I've seen Red Velvet fans saying they won't listen to their collaboration with Kiof's Julie because they find it unacceptable to listen to a song featuring someone involved in racist controversies. And no offense, but these people seem pretty hypocritical to me. Like, if you can't listen to music featuring someone involved in racist controversies, you shouldn't listen to Red Velvet's songs, right? After all, Wendy is part of that group. Basically, everything people complain about in Kiof's controversy can be found in Wendy's controversy, but even worse. She basically imitated and mocked Black people more than once, even though she lived most of her life in North America, and she never apologized for these controversies. So I honestly don't understand the logic of Red Velvet fans who are cool with Wendy but demonize Kiss of Life. And this goes for many fans of other groups who have also messed up in the past. I've seen Twice fans saying they couldn't listen to Nayeon's collaboration with Julie anymore, even though that's the group whose girl wore a swastika shirt in public and only apologized for two lines. I'm sure I've seen Mamamoo fans picking on Kiof, even though they're fans of a group that's literally done blackface. And this is something I see often: people attacking a group for a certain controversy, but being fans of people who have been involved in the same issue or even worse. Some justification for all this hypocrisy. submitted by /u/Quirky_Scratch9168 [link] [comments]
