Kim Sang-gyun wrote this message on Insta, explaining why the new 'JBJ' song could not be released under the group name. An unknown party claimed the rights to their name, so they are not allowed to use it. I can feel the frustration here. Hope they can find whoever claimed the rights and come to a civilized agreement. AI translation (not the best): It's been so nice to be able to work on a song together after such a long time, but I want to tell you all directly about the parts that I couldn't tell you while listening to Taehyung's broadcast. There were a lot of things that happened behind the scenes until we were able to be together again. The reason why JBJ's name was not used in this song but was featured is because a person who wasn't a third party applied for the rights to the name when we disbanded, so if we officially used our name, there would have been legal disputes and issues with rights infringement. I tried every means to find out who owns it. It’s not CJ, it’s not Kakao, it’s not the respective agencies. A person I have never met has patented and holds the rights. It is believed that he is related to the former entertainment agency that I have been fighting with for several years. It is said that recovering the rights is difficult. I will be honest with my fans. It's so disgusting that it makes me sick. I'm so angry that the stories that the members and fans wrote with their sincerity are being treated as a trivial money-making ploy. When I think about how hard our fans and members, especially Taehyun, have worked, I want to find them and break their heads. I don't know how long I will have to suffer because of irresponsible rights holders who keep nagging at me for entering. I am leaving a message because my anger is getting worse. I will tell you one more thing. Regarding the 95 trial, we have heard too many stories about people requesting contract termination and intentionally avoiding the schedule and losing, but requesting contract termination is by no means a stupid decision. It is a legitimate reason. It was a measure taken accordingly. If I stay still, I will be an idiot. For now, I will stop here and I will soon organize the facts and deliver them to you so that the path I have taken so far will not become meaningless. I really hate writing things like this and I've never written anything like this before, but I've been feeling very emotional lately. Please understand, I'll do my best under the current circumstances. submitted by /u/-_-Petra-_- [link] [comments]
I know racism & bigotry in general in the K-Pop community isn't new by any means, but good lord, these people are becoming bolder & bolder by the day. It's one thing to try to claim ignorance as some sort of defence / excuse, but it's another for said stans to not only have the same depraved views on race, but also outright say the quiet part out loud. It all comes down to a lack of good parenting, a lack of proper education, a lack of worldly experiences & an insane amount of self-hatred / bigotry, but even if someone doesn't experience all of these issues, it's become so easy to become deeply entrapped in rabbit hole's & pipelines & become radicalised (sometimes even to the point of no return). Of course, you won't see most of these people be dumb enough to flat out admit their prejudices, but when they're there, you can tell what these people are saying no matter how much they wanna play dumb. You'll see them try to care about certain topics, but we all know it's just a meaningless game to them & it only further hurts minorities, especially when it comes to trust & allyship. As much good as the Internet's done for society, allowing the absolute worst of humanity a platform was a huge mistake. submitted by /u/GenoveveSimmons15 [link] [comments]

Smoking weed means you have to leave the group but zico saying the f word in song lyrics and having them released ,kiss of life or suju embarrassing themselves and many more we all know it.Obviously Koreans don’t care about it at all but atleast international fandoms should hold them accountable? How does an im sorry probably by ai these days and forced by the company mean anything? It’s an apology so people stfu about it ,not because they care that they offended someone, they don’t want their sales dropping. Its embarrassing seeing people defend them .And don’t even try to say they don’t get educated on it in school or some bs,they do they just don’t careeee.Korea is a racist conservative country and you guys don’t wanna admit that. submitted by /u/tritonthefish [link] [comments]

If the cringey posts on Snark subreddits gain traction and show up on non kpop users feed, most likely it will discourage them looking into kpop. For several users it will be their first impressions of these groups and I'm kinda hurt by that. Is it ever that serious? But am I not allowed to think this way because the ones making these posts have the right to voice their opinion too? submitted by /u/fallen_narcc [link] [comments]

This megathread is about the ongoing dispute within HYBE and the management of sub-label ADOR. Substantial news developments may be posted to the subreddit (outside of the Megathreads). Moderators will only approve posts that focus on statements by relevant parties, official representatives, or legal authorities. Unofficial commentary, fandom activities, speculation, or blind items will not be acceptable. Articles or translations should ideally be presented as neutrally as possible. Titles or content that are obviously sensationalized or intended to persuade readers to one perspective will be removed. English-speaking news outlets that have relatively more neutral reporting include Soompi, Yonhap News, and Korea JoongAng Daily. THIS POST MAY BE LOCKED OR UNLOCKED AT VARYING TIMES based on what the moderators are able to manage during their shifts. Please be patient with us while we work to balance keeping up with the queue and our own lives. DISCLAIMER ABOUT SOURCES: We prefer to focus on official statements from companies or other vetted sources. There will be widespread speculation and rumor-heavy articles, but until presented in an official capacity we consider them unsubstantiated. As Mods, all we can do is compile and summarize, but we are not investigators or journalists. Summary of Previous Megathreads ONE and TWO and THREE contains HYBE's audit of ADOR and Min Hee Jin's 1st press conference. FOUR summarized all events up to April 30th, 2024. FIVE and SIX contains potential ADOR embezzlement, MHJ's injunction and hearing, and a letter from the parents of NewJeans. SEVEN and EIGHT and NINE contains MHJ's injunction granted May 30th and remaining ADOR CEO, HYBE replacing ADOR board members, BELIFT LAB's video regarding plagiarism and lawsuit against MHJ. TEN and ELEVEN and TWELVE contains ex-ADOR employee's sexual harassment case, band Shakatak's plagiarism claim, HYBE 2.0 and ADOR restructuring with new CEO Kim Joo Young, MV director drama, the NewJeans livestream, MHJ's 2nd injunction filing and public events/interviews. Articles / Timeline 250618 Noting this as it was the first official schedule after NewJeans' appeal was rejected, member Danielle participated in a scheduled event for the luxury watch brand Omega with ADOR staff in support. (Sources: Sports Chosun SPO TV News) 250625 The court's rejection of NewJeans' appeal was finalized, upholding the injunction against independent activities outside of ADOR. The one-week deadline passed for NewJeans to re-appeal and no new appeal was filed. (Source: News 1) 250715 Yongsan Police Station concluded their investigation into HYBE's claim of 'occupational breach of trust' against Min Hee Jin. The police determined evidence was insufficient and she was cleared of suspicion of criminal actions. This is relatively consistent with last year's injunction decision (see the 240530 entry, Megathread 8). Following the police announcement, HYBE made a statement they would appeal the decision on the grounds there had been significant legal developments in related cases since the main investigation, more evidence had become available, that multiple accusations by MHJ against HYBE executives had also been cleared/dismissed, and the KakaoTalk messages were legally acquired.
