I don’t know if anyone else has noticed but ever since the pandemic, the kpop fans have learnt some new words and phrases and apply it to force their ship or rumored kpop couple (spread by verified chart/kpop/gossip accounts on social media). Now we all know how kpop fans can be delusional and have parasocial relationships with their idols. Specially in South Korea. However, not all fans are like that. And most adult fans actually accept (not that they have to) or assume that their favs are in relationships. What’s weird is that, new gen kpop fans use this to force their ship or rumored/unconfirmed couple on everyone. Basically they are spreading misinformation about real people. If anyone says this is not true or asks for confirmation, they all chant “they didn’t deny, so it must be true” , “ugh parasocial relationship”, “stop being delulu” . The proof is they wore same brand of clothes, same jacket, went to each other concert, social media interaction , even recommending or dancing to eo songs. I don’t know if it’s some kind of fetish or what but this whole thing is seriously weird. If a kpop idol wants to reveal their relationship with someone, they will do it. If they don’t want it, they won’t. You can’t spread misinformation about an imaginary couple and claim it as some kind of revolution against dating ban. I posted this because I saw Hearts2Hearts’ cover of “Gee,” and I was amazed by their synchronization. Aside from them, the ones I remember having great synchronization include TWICE’s “Strategy” dance performance. Actually, TWICE in general is known for their synchronization. A more recent example is ILLIT’s “Do the Dance” performance videos—especially during the instrumental part. I've been an "Armyblink" (more focused on BTS) for the longest time so I'm mostly going to be focused on them. Apologies if this post doesn't make sense, but I hope to get my point across. It's a known fact that both Blackpink and BTS have been through multiple known controversies and have "apologized" for a few. However, there are a multitude of controversies they have been through that have barely been acknowledged, answered through the company, or completely disregarded. Blackpink (girl groups in general) definitely take a lot of the brunt of their controversies, whereas as most people would say, Army brush BTS's controversies under the rug. Nonetheless, my question is, to what extent do people want idols to apologize for their actions? Say, an idol does something a couple of years ago, was heavily criticized at the time and gave a measly little apology before everyone inevitably moved on. I find repentance culture so interesting because I'm not sure what such a late apology or accountability would do. Late apologies usually do not constitute to people wanting the apology actually forgiving them, but is instead used as a way to silence fans that are genuinely concerned because "they apologized!!!". This goes for any Kpop fandom or group, there's no way of winning. Most of the Kpop industry has done problematic things; and large and famous kpop groups are not exempt from that because they're human and if we're being honest, would have skewed development and education. Don't get me wrong, I understand the need for apologies after something recent and which needs to be held accountable. However, I don't really understand it for things done years ago where an apology would be nothing but a PR stunt, disgenuine, or something an idol already forgot about. And on the flip side, why would someone be so adamant for an apology after so long? I'd love for someone to clue me in. (Admittedly, this is fueled by the infamous snark subs where I had to block both for my own mental health. After Blackpink's spotify account was hacked two times for the past weeks, their apple music and shazam accounts are hacked this time. Spotify streams got substantially affected after the hacking. One of the biggest things that annoys me in kpop. Any criticism, even if it’s valid or respectful, it always feels like a personal attack to fans. You can make a very good comment wich includes constructive criticism, and the only Response from fans you get is "oh you just a jealous hater" or "Oh you clearly know nothing about the group". But healthy criticism is important. So I am a once. But I will be honest with you this comeback i had an expectation that was rap. The vocal was good , the lyrics was thoughtful but there was no proper rap verse . Jyp is wasting the rap line potential. If there was a rap verse and the instrumental could been louder it would be a banger .
