&TEAM and BOYNEXTDOOR are also under HYBE. BOYNEXTDOOR was even considered “flopping” (by K-pop stans’ standards) when they debuted, and it took them time to even reach 1M monthly listeners. &TEAM hasn't reach 1M till today. Now, let’s look at XLOV, who currently have around 1.7M monthly listeners, while P1Harmony have 1.4M. But XLOV isn’t from HYBE, so why is that? Because their songs are trending and people are actually listening to them. So why won’t K-pop stans say the same thing about Cortis, "their songs are trending" instead of “company privilege”? This isn't just a tiktok thing, i seen this discussions on other spaces as well submitted by /u/Cantname_stuff [link] [comments]

So recently I have been thinking about what are songs which deserve more attention and aren't much noticed. Like I really like Blue hour by TXT and Stay gold by BTS and I feel these songs need to be loved a bit more by the fans.. what are your thoughts on this? Which of your favourite group's song you feel is underrated or should get more attention? submitted by /u/princess_bella- [link] [comments]

I think that the main reasons behind the popularity of K-pop are- Korean government pushing the Hallyu wave. Talent Aesthetically pleasing visuals. However, people don't seem to acknowledge the 4 reason. It varies from region to region. 4th reason behind the popularity of K-pop in Northeast Asia- Cultural Proximity. 4the reason behind the popularity of K-pop in Southeast Asia- They look up to the Northeast Asians. 4th reason behind the popularity of K-pop in the rest of the world- K-pop idols intend to fulfill the void of good-looking young men in these countries. submitted by /u/New-Mix-5245 [link] [comments]
I've been a decade-long kpop fan. And I've noticed, new Kpop fans or fans that are unfamiliar with Kpop complaining that their idols during formation in the choreography is at the back frequently. But for as long as I could remember, watching SNSD and kpop survival shows, isn't it still the center even if the idol is in the back? (It's an infamous Kpop formation where there's 2 people in the center, one in the front and back. And if you're perspective is in the middle, the idol in the back is 'covered' by the idol in the front.) I think new Kpop fans or unfamiliar fans complain and accuse the company of 'hiding' or 'neglecting' the member when it's not. I remember, YoonA being center in SNSD, and in older Kpop, being center means not straying far from the center as much as possible and I understood it as such, am I wrong? If some older kpop fans can confirm this, I'd appreciate this lol. So technically speaking, even if their idol is at the back (still in the middle) and seems covered by the member in front, it's still a favorable thing because they're still in the center. I think it's mostly misunderstood because their perspective online is through the camera's lenses. Of course, in one fixed point, it looks unfavorable to be in the middle-back but in real life or in a performance if you're part of the crowd, that member is visible in different perspectives (obviously). And I think that's what most new Kpop fans or unfamiliar fans don't realize and misunderstood. (Am I making sense? English isn't my first language, sorry.) submitted by /u/NoInfluence6902 [link] [comments]
