Personally, I consider MEOVV as a group with strong potential to rise into stardom like blackpick and bts... incredible visuals, strong dancers, and that signature Black Label polish. Recently tho, I've noticed that compared to other 5th gen girl groups (especially BabyMonster, who debuted around the similar time, less than a year difference), their commercial growth seems slower. Altho I understand BM has had the advantage of debuting under YG, one of the big 4, with huge "company stans". I wanted to open a proper discussion about this especially since The Black Label is still relatively new at managing idol groups compared to YG Entertainment. Let's talk about -How the K-POP landscape changed from 2016-2017 (height of kpop) to now -What's working for MEOVV -What might be holding them back -Things you think they should focus on My Thoughts: How the K-POP landscape changed from 2016-2017 (height of K-pop) to now 1. Back then, when a group went viral, it almost meant instant fame cos virality was, rare and powerful. You get invited to International shows for interviews when you get viral. 2. Now in 2024-2025, virality happens every day. It has become so normalized that it doesn't carry the weight it used to give kpop idols back in the day. 3. The market is oversaturated with new groups, content moves too fast, and audience focus is divided + fragmented 4. Stardom today needs identity and consistency, not just few viral moments that will push them to stardom. It's incredibly hard before, but undeniably harder now. What’s working for MEOVV 1. Strong visuals and stage presence! 2. Great synchronization and performance quality. 3. The Black Label’s production style gives them a polished, trendy image. 4. Narin’s voice stands out! She has that distinct K-pop idol tone that feels professional and refined. Ella and Anna's background before debuting. Gawon's modelesque stature. I guess Sooin's dancing skills but shes not iconic level like Kai, Bailey, Daniela or Lisa yet. What might be holding them back 1. The Black Label is still new in idol management, so promotions may feel slower compared to bigger labels although not so true because they are getting good at promotions, just that we can tell theyprobably have lesser budgets compared to YG, SM,the big ents. 2. They are now slowly building their identity but still unclear to most occasional viewers and most kpop fans. I would say this is normal for the first 1-2 years after debut tho. 3. They’re all good dancers, but no one has that standout performance aura just yet. I get that they are young and as I said they are already good, am just holding them to higher standards because they're literally kpop idols, the ones they will be compared to are iconic kpop idols or global talents like D.O. in terms of singing, Kai, Bailey, Lisa, Daniela etc. in terms of dancing. 4. Over-synchronization makes their stages technically perfect but can be a double-edged sword as over-synchronization can sometimes trample individuality (individuality shines now more than ever due to rise of tiktok where netizens are craving for personalization instead of perfection like in 2016-2017 wherein synchronization is a bigger, obviously cos it shows professionalism but like I said, the landscape is changing due to rise of lots of things, one of which is tiktok = netizens crave for personalization/ individuality 5. Vocally, aside from Narin (and partly Gawon), damn, let's be honest and not be butt-hurt, MEOVV is better than most 5th gen in terms of dancing and singing live but comparing to overall kpop idols from different gens, members like Sooin, Ella, and most especially ANNA need more strength and color. Again, when you're a kpop idol, the standards you are being hold to is way higher than standards for normal peeps like me. 6. In an oversaturated market, just being “good to great" isn’t enough. They need something "iconic" level. Things I think they should focus on: • Develop more individuality: let members show their personal style and charisma on stage. Narin and Gawon are on this. Ella and the three girls have been improving too. Just a bit more please. • Spotlight standout members (like Narin vocally) to build recognizable “faces” of the group. • Keep training the vocals of the other members to raise the overall level. • Build their identity more. Make it so clear and distinct that casual viewers will engage with them. • I know they have been promoting nonstop, so instead of saying more active promotions, I would pressure them to make more CREATIVE and EFFECTIVE campaigns that are consistent, builds fan attachment beyond virality because virality has become mainstream nowadays. • Focus on storytelling, identity, creative and effective global branding to stand out in the post-viral era. submitted by /u/Bitter_Purple_8463 [link] [comments]

The fact he's wearing the pants backwards and they paired it with red to make it look like the logo's colour scheme. And if you look at the comments, every single one is clocking it as McDonald's, so it's not just me. They can't be daft. Wtf is this. Txt are/were my ults but with all the political stances Hybe/they have been taking (or lack thereof) is turning me off of them and kpop entirely. submitted by /u/midadtoo [link] [comments]

Before I got into K-POP, I thought that Yungblud was a K-POP idol and that he was a BTS member.. I DON'T KNOW WHY I THOUGHT THAT. submitted by /u/Ilovehuskies1111 [link] [comments]
