Let’s make a girl group from rookie idols! Hopefully this template game isn’t getting too old yet lol- Some rules: •Female idols only. •Only idols that debuted -for the first time- less than a year ago are allowed. (So for example, no Mashiro for Madein, because she was already in Kep1er.) •2 members from one group allowed max. •I’ll be going off the most upvoted comment. Try to only comment an idol once :) •Include the idol’s name and their group in your comment. •We’ll wait 24 hours between sections before moving on to the next! Day 1! 109. Young Posse's new song Soju and the history of the groups inappropriate lyrics and performances

  • 20 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Young Posse just released their 4th mini album that features a song called "Soju" that stirred an uproar among K-pop fans on other platt for it's sexual and age inappropriate lyrics despite the group including two minors (ages 17 and 15!) and I honestly see why. The lyrics that got attention are are: Grrr, cocktail, brr I'm the one you knew, bark woof Chug it all, chug it all Shake it, my fatty, drop your panties, chug my party Shawty like it greasy, I'm not gang, gang, gang Don't worry, key gang, gang, gang But there are also other questionable parts: No adults to warn you, so just go (Go) Mix your drinks, I'm a nerd, I don't club (Ah) Keep a 10m distance, welcome YOUNG POSSE (Ooh) Highball, whiskey, tequila Taking sips out of curiosity The unnies pick drinks, I pour cola in my glass Drinking like this, I might get wasted Make a bold impression like an adult, just wait a bit for 2026 Like it, but can't handle it Stumbling, C-walk (Sure, let's add gang references to the mix...) The undewear line aside, I have absolutely no idea why the company allowed a song about alcohol and teenagers fantasising about getting wasted to be released. But what struck me the most when I looked through their discography and group's history was that although by far the most explicit, this is not the first time the girls have released a song inappropriate for their age or otherwise offensive, but the fans seem to always brush it off and excusing it by the members having some writing credits along other producers. The controversial concept started with their debut song "Macaroni cheese" in 2023, three members were minors, the youngest one was 13: Drop it on my body, all that cheddar cheese right here (Right here) What you mean it's not tasty? Don't just make it up (Make it up) Then you eat it easy-peasy Already in my mouth, ya, ya Got me so crazy, y'all wanna check it Pop me some soda Everyone's gathering, it's necessary Party goalie, the goal is in my mouth Mmm, it's cheesy, quickly come and taste it (Yum-yum) I just want it hot but don't make my body (Hot) Don't keep following me, do you want me to call a taxi? (Taxi!) Young and P No car, but it's racing I could honestly post the whole song here because though not explicit it is full of clearly sexual innuendos. From the same EP "Posse UP": But our average age is almost sixteen (Uh) Young but spicy It's getting hotter because of us who? POSSE I really, REALLY don't want to hear a group with a 13 year old call themselves "young but spicy". The company toned down the innuendos a bit after the backlash but some questionable parts still appeared through their discography, here's a few of them: "Scars" 2024: Step up onto the heated stage I took off the button, savage mode Drippin', drippin' with macaroni sauce The constant Mac'n'cheese references after what it was implied to mean in their debut make me nauseous. "XXL" title track from the same album: Turn on (Dora)emong big light and eat up the muffin Dump that big cheese, big cookie, big orange (Pour it) No parties goalie, goal-in to the mouth "Ate that", 2024: We go servin' don't matter what flavor, babe (What you want? What you want, uh?) Yeah, widen that mouth 'n taste it The whole album and MV were GTA themed which in itself should rise some questions. "Cold", 2025: But I loved staring at your lips when we were talking I was too young to have a relationship hotter than summer I miss you when I dissed vou drinking about you Just, why? One of you is literally 14, I honestly can't take children singing about drinking because of a failed "too hot" relationship seriously. Aside from that the girls have been performing a lot of covers on tour and in variety content. Some of it got widespread backlash like this cover where they replaced the n word with "zigga". But they also covered for ex. Finesse by Bruno Mars that is definitely too sexual for a 15 year old to sing. So, can we finally admit that the company has been sexualising those girls since debut and we should stop giving them second chances? submitted by /u/Megan235 [link] [comments]

111. Are Kpop Stans not interested in Kdramas?

  • 21 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Apologies since this might come off as a bit of a rant... But I have a small-mid-sized-ish following on social media from doing kpop vocal covers. And I recently worked on a really cool project: A Kdrama inspired short film! I worked on the OST. However, now that we're trying to reach people to share the short film with, my usual moots and followers response was really... Underwhelming 😅 There's even a little Google form where you can sign up to get free gifts from the film but out of 700 people, only 20 signed up. Is kpop stans not the correct demographic to share this project with? I always thought kdrama watchers and kpop stans overlapped as a demographic, since I watch kdramas too! But I might be mistaken. Thoughts? Haha submitted by /u/Professional_Pay5563 [link] [comments]

112. Beyond the Album - Moon Byul's Tea

  • reddit.com language

╔══════════════╗ Today, Mamamoo member Moon Byul returns with a new mini album. I’ve been excited because I know this record is going to be another perfect project. I’ve been enjoying Moon Byul’s discography since her debut solo. Now, let’s jump into this new album from Moon Byul and see what the singer brought to the table. ╚══════════════╝ https://preview.redd.it/3f510isbz7kf1.jpg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6727806acf48e04f39d50f7f958e32e2d76fba18 laundri - Moon Byul Cotton Cotton opens this album with a smooth vibe that blends wonderfully with Moon Byul's vocals. I love the smooth, bouncy backing track they bring to the table as they put on a sweet performance. The hook has this chill vibe that adds to the overall feeling the producers and singer bring to the table. We get a little rap in the second verse that adds to the mix, switching things up a bit before she goes back into singing. I’m glad this album opens on a chill note, as it lets the record smooth its way in. https://preview.redd.it/fvr3ejijz7kf1.jpg?width=225&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1b5bbf7da51d2c8ecf5327898aeec85a11f622c2 ━━━━━━━━☓ ━━━━━━━ 2. Goodbyes and Sad Eyes The title track of this record picks things up a bit, bringing in a pop-rock vibe that we’ve heard from Moon Byul before. I’ve always loved hearing Moon Byul on a rock-sounding tune as her voice fits perfectly with that style. The instrumental packs a punch with the guitars and percussion that blend perfectly with the singer's vocal tone. The hook has been stuck in my head since hearing it this morning, and a few times after that. It didn’t take me long to fall in love with this song as Moon Byul’s performance with a rock sound pulled me right in, and I don’t think this tune will ever stop pulling me back for more. Even though I like this tune a lot, I still find it generic, as we’ve heard songs in this style many times, but I think it’s Moon Byul’s performance that makes me like this song. https://preview.redd.it/jvv92lr008kf1.jpg?width=610&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8235824687a00f66f62915329991c2d3ee4e8c50 ━━━━━━━━☓ ━━━━━━━ 3. Da Capo Right when Da Capo started, I thought I was listening to something out of Legend of Zelda cause of the melody. The bouncy instrumental has a playful vibe to it that fits the vocals from Moon Byul. I like the performance and sound effects used throughout the tune. The hook has a catchy nature to it, which will help this tune stick with me. We do get Moon Byul rapping in the second verse, which adds to the playfulness of the instrumental. With the track's strong melody and vocals from Moon Byul, this is another excellent tune for the singer. https://preview.redd.it/ovmk7gj908kf1.jpg?width=540&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0ac3b11d499f31169c4c3e3e3f55b5c5f020923e ━━━━━━━━☓ ━━━━━━━ Chocolate Tea Synth opens up the track, bringing in the sweet melody with some snapping percussion as Moon Byul brings in a chill vocal performance. We do get some rapping from the singer that adds to the vibe. The hook has a hint of a waltz-like melody that you can also feel in the verses. I love how vibey this tune is, as it makes my foot tap along. Moon Byul’s performance is fitting for this tune as it ties everything together perfectly. I also love the vocals during the bridge that hit before the final section of the song comes. https://preview.redd.it/xet3uvgg08kf1.jpg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2d9b98dea97704081d4d012b75ebdb3031eef1dc ━━━━━━━━☓ ━━━━━━━ Drip For the fourth song on the album, Moon Byul goes for a boy group-sounding track, which reminds me of Dark Romance from her studio album. I find that Moon Byul fits perfectly with these Boy group-sounding tunes. One reason Moon Byul can fit with a boy group sound is that she has this natural toughness to her charisma that fits these types of tracks. The slick instrumental fits her voice like butter, as I could see ATEEZ fitting with this instrumental. The hook comes thumping into the mix as it’s been growing on me the more I hear it. The guitar during the verses adds that slick nature to the instrumental. Moon Byul does a little bit of rapping from time to time in this tune, adding to her vocal performance. The bridge hits hard as it blends wonderfully into the final hook that ends the tune. https://preview.redd.it/o9al8y4u08kf1.jpg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ee410791678c66b33f1d615052a4fd19ecc7e277 ━━━━━━━━☓ ━━━━━━━ Over You Over You brings in a guitar that blends with the sweet vocals that Moon Byul brings to the table, which is packed with emotion. The hook brings in a rock sound that we heard in the title track, but this time it’s packed with emotion. You can feel the sadness in the vocal performance from Moon Byul. In the second verse, she does a little rap that adds to the vibe the producers crafted. I do like the piano melody that we hear in the verses. I always love hearing Moon Byul in a ballad track as she gets to showcase her singing voice much better. https://preview.redd.it/8r2xifz018kf1.jpg?width=1139&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=64ca640b54ef97411412b8886235a8de00402c44 ━━━━━━━━☓ ━━━━━━━ 7. ICY BBY ICY BBY was pre-released in June with an instrumental that reminded me of something ILLIT could do. I still enjoy the glitchy effects that blend with the singer's voice. We do get some rapping from the singer that adds to the overall vibe, but one thing I will say is I haven’t listened to this tune much since it was pre-released. The hook still has been growing on me the more I hear this tune, whenever I do. I don’t fully dislike this tune, but I do find it a bit forgettable for a Moon Byul song. Now that the album is out, maybe this tune will get pulled back onto my playlist. https://preview.redd.it/z6kkshs618kf1.jpg?width=610&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3764af128dc4091b7c7774cdf95bf9ba07fa8ce0 ━━━━━━━━☓ ━━━━━━━ 아를 The album closes out on a strong note, opening up with a guitar and percussion that bring in the melody. The vocals from the singer come into the mix, blending wonderfully with the overall sound. The hook is packed with emotion as the singer provides some sweet vocal moments that work perfectly with the instrumental. Moon Byul does a bit of rapping in the second verse that adds to the vibe the producers crafted. I find this tune to close out the album wonderfully, just like how the whole record opened up. https://preview.redd.it/04jgdaeh18kf1.png?width=1140&format=png&auto=webp&s=042ebc4c814d3cd7b232234814d4e7752e9b1428 ╔══════════════╗ Summary: Moon Byul is back with a new project, one that is a nice addition to her discography. ICY BBY was pre-released in June, and while I haven’t listened to it much, I still find it a pretty decent tune for the singer. Da Capo might be my favorite track with its playful vibe that works for the singer. I find that each tune on this album plays to the strengths of Moon Byul’s vocal ability. This album is one I can’t wait ot have on repeat cause there are some killer tunes on the record. ╚══════════════╝ https://preview.redd.it/e2obr19l18kf1.jpg?width=1000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=529c4069e85daee2b1725802e9de8b3cc3b44439 submitted by /u/Maltifandom23 [link] [comments]
