This might be a rant but here goes: I am getting increasingly sadder as time goes on when it comes to Blackpink. Why? Because a comeback was promised sometime in 2025 and here we are almost in month 7 and nothing, not even a teaser. The group is just weeks away from the start of their tour, and nothing. I know YG has a plan, but I can’t help but feel lied to/scammed by YG and I didn’t even buy anything. I’d love to know if anyone else feels the same way. Have a great Wednesday everybody! Going beyond the whole “boys will be boys“, why do idols, even knowing that they have such intense fandoms, high positionings and culture, and the things that they do even though it might be normal or regular for other celebrities, knowing how and where they exist in it’s 10 times worse, why do they still engage in stuff like prostitution and sexual assault or just being terrible people overall? I think people have a hard time conceptualizing kpop as a job and therefore ride on conspiracies that suit whatever narrative they choose. Like knowing theirs a persona and these idols cater themselves to be a certain way means their is a full mask and because of that mask they can’t trust or empathize with them or any situation their involved with as humans. Idk anytime theirs a controversy of some sort you can tell when someone’s response is so rooted in the I am in this fandom and want this to be the narrative and will only look for things that support that narrative regardless of how credible they are and will even look for things to make it into something it’s not and it’s so weird to me cause sometimes it’s some serious shit but a lot of you do not hesitate to peddle fanwars or start up something unnecessary. submitted by /u/Inevitable-Power-232 [link] [comments]
